Well, if I had to quote one instance where Sanam came across as a girl with street smartness then I would quote the instance when Sanam decided to quit working at Ibrahim Mansion when she saw Khala-Khalu having their "ATM" discussion. ' I should quit this job or else if any theft happens in this house then these people would accuse me of stealing' is what she had thought.

In the recent times, how she succeeded in feeding Aahil food when he was refusing to have it like a small child and how she convinced him for letting her give him a sponge bath.

I haven't seen both of these scenes.
The first one-think of leaving a job just because something might happen. Not too smart imošŸ˜†
The second one-what did she do exactly and how is it relevant to the tm's point of sanam being smart in the sense that she does not go to unfamiliar or unknown places alone?

Much needed post Gita.
Contrary to some forumers, I think Sanam is fully capable of taking on Tanveer on her own, even w.o Ahil's help, forget Sehar,Rehan &others.

The Cvs have toned down & after Sehar's entry totally eliminated traces of Zoya's character from Sanam, like her shayaris & Allah Miyas and made her more like Asad. I like that. It's rare to see heroines molded on a strong male character and Asad was epic(ok, he did act stupid at times, but he always tried to do what he felt was right & for greater causes).

IMO, Sehar seems like some one who will win the battles but not the war. I love Sanam's patience, righteousness & willingness to work hard and she has the smarts inspite of her rural upbringing & limited exposure to a big bad world. Sanam prays for strength and Sehar thanks God for sending her easy preys, huge difference.

I would say Sanam is an improved version of Asad, because of her feminine qualities, which makes her a very attractive strong woman.

Thanks Simran.
Sanam may take on Tanveer on her own, but needs the cunningness of Seher to deliver the final blow.

Yes, The shayari and Allah Miyah have been eliminated ever since Tanveer's entry only. Maybe coz tanveer would've come to know about Sanam soon so.
Sanam is moulded on Asad's character, and the layers are opening one by one. Its really beautiful to see Asad in Sanam.
@bold - There you have pointed the basic character difference in both the difference and why Sanam will always be stronger than Seher.

Thanks for your elaborate replies. Examples as well as exceptions will always be there. Depends a lot on CVs, what they choose to remember and what they choose to ignore.

I think if she thought of quitting the job on finding the characters of her employers fishy then that was quite a smart decision.

Nope I did not write the last two examples because they held any relevance to what Gita has written about Sanam being a smart woman. I was quoting the instances where for me Sanam came across as a smart person. My bad, should have read Gita's post carefully before writing the reply to your comment.

I don't know why Sanam is labelled weak for crying. Being weak would be seeking pity, or self drowning in pity which Sanam never does and never will. She cried, but she got out of her self pity and she moved on. Each time coming out stronger than she was before.

Also regarding the style statement of Sanam, I feel she easily has the best wardrobe from 4 Lions heroines when comparing her wardrobe to the previous ones. I prefer her wardrobe over Seher's too TBH because I really like her elegance. Surbhi totally looks gorgeous with that nose ring too.

Not a fan of Seher's wardrobe TBH because it is not at all "glamorous" like it was said to be. I am no fashionista but to me glamour would be to wear pastel denims with stilettos or something. Though this PH is financially poor so they wouldn't have been able to afford such clothes anyway. :P

P.S. Only comparing their wardrobes.

Edit: would also like to say that I really dislike Seher's makeup. Way too OTT even if it suits her character.

When will your WL end. Are they kinda permanent.

Totally agree. She is refreshingly different. I def love her "knock me down and I get up" attitude.
I guess this is what endeared her to Ahil.
Ahil felt proud of her never say die attitude and fell for her.
Rehaan felt sorry for her condition and fell for her.
She doesn't relent and never loses. I totally loved her in that laddoo challenge how she broke that bottle. Pure awesomeness. I don't recall any other Indian TV soap heroine doing that kinda thing before .
Pure awesomeness, yes this word describes both the scene and Sanam.
Yes, when her marriage broke she didn't sit and cry crocodile tears unlike most TV heroines would. She faced it and moved on. Coming out stronger. I totally agree with you about her being a stronger character than all of them.
Yes. Imagine what would happen if Rehaan's nikaah is fixed and it breaks on the day of mrg.šŸ˜†
I would also like to point out the fact that I also like her boldness in the romantic scenes and I find it totally endearing how she calls Aahil. ;) She doesn't shy away and there is no hesitation in her part in romantic scenes. In fact, only Aahil has reservations. Imagine, the player Aahil shying away! Anisa pointed this out to me in one of her posts. :)
Yeah, I remember reading that. And when she was sponging his back, Ahil's shoulders stiffened by her proximity, Sanam saw that and gave a teenywiny smirk. She knew the effect she was having over him. It was sexy as hell. that one small smirk, a kind of satisfied smile, which only she was privy to. Watch the scene again you will get what I mean. I don't know how they write it and explain it to the actors. But it was a very beautifully written. very very sexy.
Even in that sponge bath scene she was touching him all over and he was hesitating from kissing her. :)
She actually was initiating a kiss, her fingers so tenderly moved to the back of his neck. Only if Lateef had not interrupted.
And most importantly, which female character has manhandled their husband like Sanam? That's right, none. :) Haha.

Edit: Also love how she doesn't constantly moral police or lecture Aahil about his lack of culture, religion, tehzeeb. :)
Thankfully, she didnt get that trait from Asad.

Like badi ammi said yeh Sanam ki aadat nahin virasat hai.
We get to see Asad and Zoya in Sanam and Seher.
Both are well written characters.

Sanam is a very nicely written character.
Moulded on Asad, but with his character defects removed, except maybe for the anger part.
But it takes a lot to make Sanam angry, and when she is, then there is none who can stop her.

Sanam we have seen a lot. Seher, her character is yet to unfold. But yes, Seher is Zoya.
