Your comment in that post set me thinking. Else I was free today, and was thinking of making that Case (Rehaan Vs. Ahil) post. But then held myself back. Too much of Rehaan talk has happened. Thought let appreciate Sanam.😉

Sanam, is refreshingly different from the run of mill heroines.
She has the attitude to face life head on. She is someone with a strong character. Someone who can face the difficulties in life and not make a hue and cry about it.
She was rejected at the altar of mrg.
Imagine, a small town girl, the groom rejects her in front of the entire society. However hurt she was, she didn't break down and shut herself. Contrast this with Zoya or Rehaan. When ZOya;s nikaah didnt happen, she shut herself from the world.
When Rehaan saw Saahil nikaah, he drowned in self pity, to the extent of accusing Ahil, accepting Tanveer's 3 month divorce.
Sanam, is way ahead of all them in character. Even stronger than Ahil.
And only Ahil is strong enough for her. No one else.

I'm glad to be your inspiration. ;) and it's good that you didn't make that post. Waise bhi there is already a Rehaan vs. Aahil post. :P Sanam as a character is def under appreciated in this forum hence my comment in Anisa's post. I would have made this thread myself if I could. :)

Totally agree. She is refreshingly different. I def love her "knock me down and I get up" attitude. She doesn't relent and never loses. I totally loved her in that laddoo challenge how she broke that bottle. Pure awesomeness. I don't recall any other Indian TV soap heroine doing that kinda thing before .

Yes, when her marriage broke she didn't sit and cry crocodile tears unlike most TV heroines would. She faced it and moved on. Coming out stronger. I totally agree with you about her being a stronger character than all of them.

I would also like to point out the fact that I also like her boldness in the romantic scenes and I find it totally endearing how she calls Aahil. ;) She doesn't shy away and there is no hesitation in her part in romantic scenes. In fact, only Aahil has reservations. Imagine, the player Aahil shying away! Anisa pointed this out to me in one of her posts. :)

Even in that sponge bath scene she was touching him all over and he was hesitating from kissing her. :)

And most importantly, which female character has manhandled their husband like Sanam? That's right, none. :) Haha.

Edit: Also love how she doesn't constantly moral police or lecture Aahil about his lack of culture, religion, tehzeeb. :)

Sanam & weak? I never thought Sanam to be a weak character. She was the one who ran her dhaba to support her family. How can she be weak? She definitely didn't have a rosy life! She hs faced many hurdles. She is righteous & does not take easy way out.
For me Sanam is way stronger than Zoya. She is career oriented which Zoya never was & yes most importantly unlike Zoya she iss not handicapped in communication. 😆
Also unlike many current heroines she is no mahaan. I just don't like mahaaan abla nari portrayed in many shows. Thankfully she is not like that. She knows how to handle her man. 😉
She is realistic too. You have summed up her qualities well.
But she is an idiot in assuming Aahil's feelings about her. 😆

Thanks.
Zoya was not strong and neither is Seher.
@bold - agree fully. I dont understand this love for mahaan heroines, heroines who keep giving bhasahn about right and wrong.
@blue - Ahil had earlier given her reasons for thinking like this. But now, both are idiots. One for assuming and the other for not clearing the assumption.

I've seen many shows with several different characters but Sanam is definitely my favorite 😳

Her character has a balance of so many wonderful and powerful traits

Thanks.
Sanam has been the unsung hero of QH2 inspite of her wonderful and powerful traits, as you have so aptly put it.

Yes , she is just like Asad.
Like badi ammi said yeh Sanam ki aadat nahin virasat hai.
We get to see Asad and Zoya in Sanam and Seher.
Both are well written characters.

I agree with each n every point of urs...
I have always beleived that Sanam is one of the best written characters on indian TV ... her brilliance which made me her fan was during Dhaba burning scene... The way she gave back to Aahil... i was like jumping with excitement ... that was the best part of that scene for me... 👏👏👏
The feminist in me is always so happy seeing her standing up for Right and her courage is so so admirable... thats why she is different from other heroines ... shes strong headed... n the way she stands up infront of Aahil ,,,, bravo... the writers n SJ both deserve the credit for such an awesomely written character...
Although its SJ whose playing all the 3 roles but my favorite amogst these 3 would be Sanam... i know Zoya was a refreshingly different character but Sanam has exceeded even her mom ... i truly adore her n respect her ... i like Seher too but my favorite will always be Sanam

Thanks.
The dhaba scene was the best Saahil face-off scene and the sponging best romantic till now.
SHe is more feminist than the so called feminists.
Even my fav among all 3 SJ characters has got to be Sanam. Seher and Zoya were a delight to watch, but Sanam is someone to fangirl about.

bubbly, doing ott comedy..she is used for comedy..making fun of herself in front of male lead

ekta's mahaan heroine..who gives lecture to every one..

but sanam is not like above two..she is career oriented, have self respect,intense,silent..she easily changed her opinion of aahil when she sees him doing good things..not doing over smart work..
i think people want ott comedy heroine.. angry young man..they cant understand other type of characters..so label her as boring..
you know what i like about her..she is intense in romantic scenes not behave like some shy heroine..infact sanam is always confident one in sahil romance scenes..aahil always have some hesitation i really like that..

Thanks.
@bold - yes, FL nowadays only fall into these 2 categories. There used to be some strong characters in telivision, long back, when DD used to rule the roost. Even Zee's initial FL were strong. Its only the advent of Star and Ekta, that characters took a nosedive.

Glad Sanam is different.

It makes me so sad that AsYa would never be able to see their daughters and how they've grown out to be! *sobs in a corner*
Sanam would have been so successful if Asad was alive.
Not that she's not successful she's still hardworking! She is responsible too! <3
Although I'm a slightly bigger fan of Seher (she owns a gun ) , both the sisters are brilliant!
It's like comparing between Asad and Zoya, to me both were incredible in their places.
Although Sanam was inconsistent in the beginning, the character development is fantastic!
Awesometastic post! Ok let's be honest when is it not? <333

Such a brilliant way to answer... shes an inspiration for so many of those timid demures in distress kinds of heroines... KUCH SEEKHO SANAM SE 😆

Well, if I had to quote one instance where Sanam came across as a girl with street smartness then I would quote the instance when Sanam decided to quit working at Ibrahim Mansion when she saw Khala-Khalu having their "ATM" discussion. ' I should quit this job or else if any theft happens in this house then these people would accuse me of stealing' is what she had thought.

In the recent times, how she succeeded in feeding Aahil food when he was refusing to have it like a small child and how she convinced him for letting her give him a sponge bath.
