Hello guys,
I cannot write anything long today because of an eye problem (so no update for SS: Aahil Becomes Nawab of Bhopal). But thought I might write something short for you for the boring weekend. This will be a little piece on what happened after Aahil embarrassed Sanam in front of his friends and pulled her in a possessive dance when Rehan stepped in to wipe her tears. Hope you like it. Write comments to let me know.
If anyone is confused. This is the clip:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ValsJU7WxuQ
Fair warning folks, this is quite melodramatic. I was in that frame of mind when I wrote it. Also, with OS's we writers feel the need to resolve issues so everything happens quite fast.
Sanam stared at the wall as every cell her body burned in humiliation. She had thought he was just a bigrehuwe player since the first glimpse of him and his latest squeeze in the haystack. A raiszada she had enraged with her outspokenness, but turning her life upside down in revenge was not enough for him. He would burn her too, if he could.
Aahil's words played across her ears again with his friends cackling with laughter in the background like that... Friends! Those three girls had probably been much more and he had no qualms about rubbing that in her face.
Sanam scanned the bruises on her hands. A hypocrite too. His wife, if only in name, could not so much as speak to a man, while he could throw her off to close dance with those women.
What are you doing Sanam?
Sanam whispered: Bari Ammi.
Aahil sat on the bed and worried. Maybe he had gone too far this time. Why couldn't he manage his anger? She said she was hurting. Yet, he had jerked her around like that. She loved Rehan, that much was apparent now, she had said she had to marry him under pressure. She didn't owe him loyalty. He knew this even that evening. That is why he had shown her that he too had his pick of women.
Aahil sighed, maybe the words for her introduction were a bit too much. He stared at the dressing room as the clock chimed 4 a.m. Sanam had been locked in there since he flaunted Saira in her face at 2 a.m. She had to come out at some point. It was almost time for Fazr prayers.
The door swung open sooner than he expected. Not knowing what to do, he avoided her eyes and looked at her feet. She was wearing walking shoes. His head snapped up just in time for the heavy gold kangans to hit him in the forehead.
Sanam: You can have them back. I reject them, you, and this already joke of a marriage. You have crossed all limits today. My livelihood was not enough, you want my self-respect now. But I will not be your personal rag doll Aahil Raza Ibrahim!!!
Aahil's vision blurred as everything stopped around him. She was still talking when he could focus again.
Sanam: Yes, I desparately needed the money for Bari Ammi, but she wouldn't forgive me if I stayed with you after this evening, even for her sake!
He willed his body to move and block her path as she made for the door.
Sanam was shocked to see close up now that the kangans had hit him very hard. A drop of blood started to trickle down past his eyes. She was not violent like this, her conscience wavered bit.
Aahil: I know I crossed the line today. I...am sorrry. When I saw you with Rehan, I lost it. First he gave you those bangles and now he was touching you...I-I don't know what took over me.
Sanam: He was wiping my tears, the tears you brough on, you jerk! Get out of my way, raste me bhik manglungi, lekin iss ghar mein aapke saath ek aur minute nehi.
Aahil frantically searched for excuses.
Aahil angrily: You have no where to go. (Sanam walked). Where will you go, Sanam? No one will take you in. Wait! You still owe me most of those two lakhs.
Sanam smiled as she turned to him: Yes, that's it. Back in your element. For your information, I owe you twelve lakhs now. You need to add the ten your mother paid for Bari Ammi's elaj to marry you. Don't worry, you will get it back.
Aahil ashamed: I didn't know it was for her elaj. Don't be ridiculous, how will you pay for all this...?
Sanam: Meri izzat toh hai hi nehi na? You made that clear when you humiliated me this evening. Aap ki izzat neelam karne ke liye bazar mein chali zaungi. Chotti Begum of Bhopal. Sooner or later, aapke jaise raiszadah toh aahi jayega.
Every muscle in his body heaved in protest. Did she really just say that? His Sanam?
Aahil closed his eyes as his heart skipped a beat: Sanam.
Sanam: Har aurat ka koi na koi jagai hota hai jab uske liye koi nehi hota. At least it will be my choice!!! Aur aapke paise bhi mil zayenge.
She walked on, half paralyzed by the absurdity of what she had just said to get back at him.
Aahil stopped her against the main door.
Aahil: You will have to kill me first.
Sanam: Oh please. I am not really going to a brothel. Jane dijiye mujhe. Waise bhi aapke paise wapas karne hai aur Bari Ammi ke age ki elaj bhi.
Aahil: I said I am sorry. I am a child of abuse, that's why I am such a monster. I-I didn't give you a chance even that day. I didn't know about Bari Ammi. If you want Rehan, I will step out of your way. Please don't leave.
Sanam's anger evaporated as she realized what he was saying. His nightmare suddenly made sense now. And...and he was jealous.
Sanam looked away: I don't want Rehan, he's just my friend. Not like your...friends.
Aahil looked at her with a hopeful expression: You really mean that?
Sanam: God, what gave you such an idea?
Aahil flailed for a reason: He was going to...propose. I thought you two were in a relationship.
Sanam: What!? Oh...I didn't know.
Aahil: stepped closer and took her hands. Now he saw the bruises.

Aahil hurt: I did this?
Sanam: You threw me around like a rag doll.
Aahil: I am sorry. I couldn't tell I was hurting you like this...
He kissed her hands and the bruises repeatedly, looking so earnestly sad that her heart melted.
Sanam wiped away the blood trickling down his face as they drew closer.
Sanam: I am sorry too...
They looked at each other, their faces up against each other as Aahil had drawn her to him. This time when Aahil pulled her against him, it was much softer, asking for permission - unlike the dance. She let him and sank into his embrace as they kissed softly.
Aahil whispered: Those girls, they were not my friends.
Sanam: I know. You don't have to explain.
Aahil: No, you don't understand (he looked embarrassed). I hired them from the office to pretend. To make you jealous. Haven't looked at another woman since we married.
Sanam couldn't help but smile: Jallad jin, sahi naam diya tha maine aapko.
Sanam pulled him back and tangled her fingers in his hair. She kissed him this time and Aahil tasted the sweetest torture imaginable.
Rehan stepped under the shadow and left the hall.
Be sure to leave comments. I know this is kind of rushed.
