The Siddique family:

Noor Bano Siddique (Ageless)

Noor Bano Siddique, Zoya Farookhi's grandmother is an amazing person. She always puts a smile on everybody's face without even trying. She has the funniest laugh and always is telling jokes, which probably is the reason why everyone around her was always laughing! She put anyone before her no matter what the situation was even if it was out of her way she would be there to help people. She was very caring and always had a welcoming smile. She is her granddaughter Zoya's best friend with whom Zoya could talk about anything and she knew exactly how to solve Zoya's problems. Like most stereotypical grandmothers she too was a very good cook. She is a strong, loving, caring, funny woman and had many things to give others. Anyone who met her would cherish her memories for life.

Gafur Ahmed Siddique (48years)

Gafur Ahmed Siddique is the man of the house. He is the only man in the Siddique household. He is an ideal man. He is a kind-hearted person. He is the member of the Islamic Religious Committee of Bhopal. He has done MBA and is handling the business aspect of the construction company he owns in partnership with his childhood friend Rashid Ahmed Khan. He is an affectionate and dutiful father. Both his daughters are the apple of his eyes. He is known as a gentle, polite and intelligent man with amiable nature. The Siddique family runs smoothly under his advice and instructions.

Razia Gafur Ahmed Siddique (46 years)

Razia, Zoya's mother has done BA and she is a homemaker. She is actually an ordinary woman but in her ordinary appearance lies an extraordinary fortitude, perseverance, a altruistic soul and a very kindly heart. She is the kind of persistent woman with strong willpower. She is the kind of person who always demonstrates great zeal. She has always taken care of the home and the family. She observed her daughters' education and other activities. She always thinks of her families comfort and bright future of the girls. She is polite, religious, and dedicated. She is the best wife and mother.

Zoya Farookhi (20 years)

Gafur and Razia's older daughter Zoya, is an active, easy-going and talkative person. She loves her parents and adores her grandmother. She and her younger sister mean the world to their parents. She is a student of interior designing at Bhopal's School of Planning and Architecture. She plans to join the family business someday and take over the interior designing department. Zoya is a huge foodie. Her favorite food is Pizza and a coke to gulp it down. She loves going to college and has always taken her studies very seriously. Caring for people is a trait she has got from her parents and grandparents. She loves watching movies and reading comics. Cooking has been a huge disinterest of hers. Then last but not least she loves praying. She prays as much as she can. Being a Muslim and not praying, just doesn't go together, so that is why she prays. She also feels that whenever she prays, it helps her getting forward and achieving more and more.

Humaira Siddique (18 years)

Have you ever wondered how something so little could affect your life so much? Zoya's life changed when Humaira, Zoya's baby sister was born. Humiara, Zoya's baby sister, 2 years younger to her is a beautiful girl with big brown eyes. She has gentle skin and soft brown hair. The sweet girl is the most important thing in the world to Zoya. The opportunity to influence the life of her sister is probably the most worthwhile experience she has encountered as yet. Humaira is an important person in her life because, she has taught Zoya so much, she is one of Zoya's best friends, and she knows she can always count on Humaira. She has taught Zoya to be truthful, kind and to never lose faith. Sisters have a bond that lasts their entire lives. They share every moment, from the most trivial to the most defining, of a lifetime. Humaira will always hold a special place in Zoya's heart and nothing that will come their way that can change that.

Character Sketch

The Khan Family:

Sabreen Ahmed Khan(Age Sixty plus)

Asad's grandmother, Sabreen is quite an old lady. She has already crossed sixty. Her years however do not show and have not affected her activities. She is tall and well built. She colors her grays to jet black. Her humble and affectionate face is full of wrinkles which she tries hard to reduce using all the anti aging products she can get her hands on. Her eye-sight, however, is quite good and she can read without spectacles. She is a religious lady. Even at this age, she is very active and hard-working. At times, everyone is surprised at her agility. She supervises all-important jobs in the family. Some she does herself. She is very affectionate and caring. Her grand children, Asad and Najma are attached to her more than to their parents. She is never cross with them, her daughter in law Dilshad well that is Kahaani ghar ghar ki. Her love for her grand children is her passion. Asad's father always seeks her advice in all social matters. She is the local agony aunt. Ladies, young and old, come to her for advice. Sometimes they bring their problems. Like all old women, she has some orthodox habits but unlike other old women, she has a surprising quality to change with the times. Nobody forces her, but she herself has changed many of her superstitious habits. Having such a grandmother is a joy for Asad and Najma.

Rashid Ahmed Khan (Age 48 years)

Do you have an important person that means a lot to you? Asad does. That person is his abbu. Asad's abbu, Rashid Ahmed Khan is special and important because be his loving, fun, and encouraging. He had the temerity to overcome innumerable obstacles to seek for academic success, and these experiences greatly shaped Asad's life. Rashid has done Masters in Architecture. He followed his dream of entering college by seizing every available opportunity. He handles the creative side of the business he owns with his childhood friend Gafur. When Asad was quite young, his abbu would hold him and tell stories from his childhood. He never realized at that time that those stories were revealing Rashid's character and that those stories would influence who he would become one day, and help him succeed in life. For Rashid, education is a means to a higher quality of life, not a richer life. His personality is the guiding light for his children to pass through the fog of bewilderment and mediocrity, teaching them, leading them, and inspiring them to greatness. He loves his family dearly and does everything within his power to make sure they are happy.

Dilshad Rashid Ahmed Khan (Age 46 years)

"Who is your best friend?" no doubt, Asad's answer for this question is his mom, Dilshad. She is quite talkative, even gregarious on occasions. She is also considerate and generous. She has taught her children how to be a nice person. She comforts them and solves problems as and when they were in trouble. She encourages them when they hesitate. She is her children's first teacher who taught them a lot of things and is also their best friend who supports them in every right decision. She has helped her children to know more and better about this world. She taught them to be a generous and kind person but not selfish. She taught them what they should do and what they shouldn't. Even when Asad was naughty and made many troubles, she would just point his faults patiently. She guides them to brightness. She encourages her children so that they won't give in easily. She not only takes care of her family very well but also is a successful business woman. She is a fashion designer and runs a boutique. She loves her family and will fight for them till her last breath.

Asad Ahmed Khan ( Age 26 years)

Asad Ahmed Khan, Rashid and Dilshad's first child, their son is an architect. His father is his hero. He has done his Masters in Architecture from MIT just like his father. After graduating Asad applied to a London firm for internship which he easily got as he had topped his batch. He wants to join his father's business but only after acquiring tones of experience which would be fruitful for the family business. He has returned to India after 2 years of job experience in London. Asad has being a naughty boy since the day he was born. Wherever he goes he makes people his own with his loving personality. He is the perfect blend of his parents. He respects his parents a lot and loves to trouble his younger sister. He gives her freedom but is way to over protective of her. His first love, his first girlfriend was and will always be his grandmother. His passion is music. He writes and also makes music. He wants to make a second career in music. Asad Ahmed Khan is the most handsome and THE eligible bachelor in Bhopal.

Najma Rashid Ahmed Khan (18years)

Najma Rashid Ahmed Khan is Rashid and Dilshad's daughter. One of the best things in life happened to Asad was that his little sister was born. She is 18 years old and she thinks she is grown. She means the world to Asad. There is nothing on this world he wouldn't do for her. She is one of the most important people in Asad's life. When Asad was younger, he demanded for a younger sibling on every birthday. Finally on his 8^th birthday his younger sibling, Najma was there and she was the best birthday gift ever. Asad had fun with her and used to be around her at all times. Though he loved her very much and protected her from everyone he also bossed her around at times. Najma is an important person in Asad's life because, he has taught her so much, he is her friend, and she knows she can always count on him. Younger siblings can be cute and adorable, Najma was too but at times she was a pain in the neck. It's truly amazing to have a sister, chat with her, and take care of her. She really missed Asad when he was in college and London. She hopes she makes him and their parents proud in the future. She is not interested in academics but loves fashion. She is currently doing her fashion designing course and assists her mother at the boutique. She is cute and plump. Zoya is her best friend.
