Hello Dearies,

I am sorry for not updating soon ...

Actaully I was too busy plus this chapter became too long and it took more time to write than I initially thought. I had initially not thought of going in to the details of Asad and Zoya's wedding but then some of you requested for including the marriage flashback and when I started writing I did not feel like cutting short any part of it.

As after all in this story its all about the strong love Asad and Zoya has for each other, so I started feeling that Asad and Zoya's wedding should be something that should be given to the readers in elaborate detail.

And a point that I want to highlight here is that here in this story both Asad and Zoya were born and brought up in US that too in LA and their marriage is taking place in France without the presence of parents and relatives to enjoy a big fat Indian wedding... so it's natural that a more westernized marriage fits them and the situation here and hence the decorations and their clothes etc which I have described here are Western and not Indian... their marriage is a Western Muslim wedding here... hope no one dislikes this aspect and enjoy the special and beautiful wedding of Asad and Zoya in this story.

At least I hope that my regular lovely readers like the chapter and the wedding as it is for you all I am writing it... Love you all... The likes are so less and silent members don't even bother to hit the like button but at least after reading this chapter if you liked it hope you will hit like as I have put a lot effort to this chapter.

Chapter 6:

"Ammi.." Zainab was just drifting off to sleep at midnight when she heard the soft knock on her door and Zoya calling out to her.

She had been unable to sleep till that time wondering how Zoya was and whether she was able to sleep with Ayaan being in the same room. So when she heard Zoya call out, she immediately jumped up and went and opened the door. And when she saw Zoya she immediately knew that something had happened. Zoya's eyes were slightly red, her lashes still wet from crying and traces of the tears she had shed could still be seen on her cheeks. She had sat in the garden for almost three hours and had cried and thought about Asad...

"Zoya you were crying! What happened Beta?... come inside."

"Ammi." the moment Zainab closed the door behind her and turned around; Zoya hugged her and whispered brokenly.

"What happened Beta... did you have a fight with Ayaan."

Zainab withdrew a little from Zoya's hug, held her gently around the waist and looked at her face searchingly and Zoya shook her head.

" No Ammi... I mean actually I did fight with Ayaan but that wasn't the reason why I have been crying."

"Then what is the reason Beta?"

"Ammi I remember everything... everything that happened in those two and half months about which I forgot."

"You remember?... Beta I am so happy... so happy for you." Zainab kissed Zoya's forehead lovingly.

"But how Zoya?... I mean how did you remember it all of a sudden?" And Zoya explained to her about how Ayaan had tried to kiss her and how she suddenly saw Asad's face in front of her closed eyes.

"And guess what Ammi... Asad was the reason why I could not let Ayaan be near me. I love Asad Ammi." and hearing what Zoya said Zainab was stunned. She had suspected that but even then hearing it from Zoya's mouth and knowing that her suspicion was confirmed, she was stunned by the way fate had played with her daughter.

"And that's not everything Ammi." Zoya left Zainab's embrace and went and sat on her bed. And there was a hint of a bitter sweet smile on her lips. Zainab came and sat beside her and tilted her chin and made Zoya look at her.

"What else is there Beta that you haven't told me?"

"Ammi first tell me that you won't get angry with me."

"Why Zoya? Is it something that would make me unhappy? Otherwise you won't ask me not to get angry... Zoya I may become unhappy with something you did, but I can never stay angry with you... so tell me what it is." Zainab held Zoya's hand and caressed it gently.

"Ammi actually... actually I got married..." Zoya stammered a little and Zainab looked at her with confusion.

"Ammi what I meant was Asad and I got married when we were in Europe... and we are still married... I was Asad's wife even when I went through that ceremony with Ayaan Ammi... so I cannot be Ayaan's wife."

"Zoya!.." Zainab exclaimed and stared at Zoya wide eyed. She was too shocked to even say anything else.

"Ammi I am sorry... I am really sorry... I know that I should have told at least you about it... but Ammi I did not want to tell you about it over the phone and I thought I will tell you once we returned back home... And then the accident happened and..." her voice trailed off not knowing how to make her Ammi understand and they both remained silent, Zainab trying hard to comprehend what Zoya had just told her.

"Zoya but why did you both have to get married secretly like that?... and you both kept it a secret and look what happened now." Zainab said softly when she could finally digest what Zoya had just revealed.

"I know Ammi... but at that time I felt it was the best thing to do... and it's because of Abbu... Ammi as you know even that time Abbu was asking me to get married to Ayaan and I knew he would never agree for me to get married to Asad and I asked Asad if we could get married while we were there and he agreed and we did... and we were so happy together during the time we spent together as husband and wife... but we wanted to come home soon and tell everyone about our marriage and we had even booked our tickets when the accident happened... fate has played a cruel joke on us Ammi... and Asad must be suffering so much... and... and I wasn't there for him when he needed me most... what would he be thinking about me? I wonder if he is thinking whether I had ditched him or not?... How could such a horrible thing as this happen Ammi?"

Zoya started crying again and Zainab took her in her arms again and let her cry.

"Why Ammi?... why did this happen to us?.. Asad and I fell in love and we just wanted to be together for the rest of our life and look what happened... everything has fallen apart Ammi, and I am so scared... so scared thinking whether we can rebuild our life and be together again or not... and I am also scared of how Asad will react now when I go to meet him... he may not even accept me thinking I had may be betrayed him... and what will he think when he comes to know about Ayaan Ammi?" Zoya started sobbing and the sobs turned to hiccups.

"Zoya... beta calm down... I am sure that Asad will not think any such thing. If you both loved each other truly, he would trust you more than that... I am sure he will understand when you go to him and explain everything... just calm down and think logically... you are going to meet him tomorrow... and when you meet him you should be strong beta... Asad is in a vulnerable condition and he may reject you because of his vulnerability but he will never think that you had betrayed him... I am sure of it." Zainab said with conviction and rubbed her back soothingly.

"Even my heart says that he would trust me more than that Ammi... And when I first remembered everything tonight I was happy thinking that it is because of the strength of our love that I remembered everything and I felt like running to Asad that very moment... but then all these doubts crept in to my mind and I got so scared Ammi... I got scared thinking may be everything got over between us... but it can't be isn't it Ammi?.. it can't happen that way when our love is still as strong as it was before... and I won't let it happen.. I will be strong as you said... and I will face everything including Asad's anger if he is angry with me."

"Yea you should be strong and fight for your love beta... Don't let your love get defeated...and tomorrow when you meet Asad be brave. You should be brave for two reasons. One to explain everything to Asad and second to face the condition in which he is in, which would surely break your heart when you see him... so let's try to sleep now Beta... you should be fresh to face tomorrow." Zainab said gently and kissed the top of her head.

They lay on Zainab's bed and tried to sleep but neither of them could fall asleep easily; too much was on their mind.

"Ammi I don't think I could sleep tonight." Zoya whispered after a while and turned towards Zainab knowing that even she had not slept.

"I know Beta... even I am not able to sleep." Zainab said.

"Tell me about your wedding beta..." Zainab suddenly whispered after a while.

"I really wish I could have been there and I want to know about it... I have always dreamt of your wedding and you as a bride... I mean Zoya, I have seen you as a bride but that wasn't the wedding I really wanted to see... what I really wanted to see was my daughter getting married to someone she loved and I wanted to see that glow on your face due to the happiness of marrying the person you loved; and I am sure you would have looked radiant on the day you wed Asad."

Zoya shifted close to her Ammi and hugged her and rested her chin on her shoulder.

"Yes Ammi... I was so happy that day. Actually I was sad also because I really missed you there... I even missed Abbu and wished that my family were there with me and wished that it was done with all your blessings... but still yea I was happy, so happy to become Asad's bride... and it was all so beautiful Ammi..." her thoughts traveled back in time to those days and she reminisced them happily.

*******************

After the night Asad proposed to her and Zoya asked him to marry her, they could not think of anything else. They had quickly become excited at the prospect of marrying each other and both wanted to become each others in every way. And they cut short their cruise and on the third day morning they flew from Nice to Paris.

Asad had already contacted one of his friends in Paris to know about the procedures they had to follow to get married in Paris. And his friend Hassan came to meet them as soon as they checked into the hotel and Asad introduced Zoya to him.

"It's so good to meet you Zoya... you know something Zoya? We have never thought that this guy here will ever get married and look at him now... getting married and that too like an elopement... so I have been dying to meet the girl who managed to accomplish this." Hassan laughed and hit Asad's back playfully.

Hassan was a very good friend of Asad and they had been together in the university and had shared the same room throughout. Hassan was French, born to Algerian immigrants to France and he had come to America as an exchange student and on the first day they met Asad and Hassan had immediately hit it off. And they had been very close since then and Zoya already knew about their friendship as Asad had told her about him.

"Why Hassan? Why did you think he would never get married?" Zoya asked him with a smile.

"Because he was never interested in women..." Hassan stated and Zoya and Asad looked at him wide eyed and Hassan laughed.

"Now don't get me wrong OK... he is very straight... but he was just never interested in dating and all those stuff despite girls falling all over him... and in all his free time, he would be glued to some music instrument or would be playing baseball." Hassan clarified before Asad could admonish him.

"Now Hassan, stop your nonsense and please tell us what we should do." Asad smiled and made him sit on the couch.

"Asad I found out that there is a lot of bureaucracy involved in getting legally married here. Even for us it is there but for foreigners it's even more difficult... but if it's just the religious ceremony that you want, there are few places where it can be done without getting the civil registration done... but it will be sort of a symbolic thing and it won't be recognized legally here unless it is done with a preceding civil marriage. But of course in the eyes of Allah you will be married if you go through a religious ceremony."

"No.. what we want is a legally accepted marriage. In US, they would recognize an out of country marriage as legal only if it was done legally in the country where the marriage took place... and for us it is very important that our marriage is legally valid... and we want the religious ceremony too... that's also equally important for us." Zoya explained to Hassan.

"In that case here is the list of requirements for getting the civil ceremony done. It's conducted in the Mairie (City Hall) of the arrondissement (district), where one lived. I have gone through the list and I think the main difficulty you face is the clause which says that one of the couple should have resided in the town or district where the marriage is to be conducted for a minimum of 30 days... that means if you want this to be conducted legally here in France, you have to stay here for next one month." Hassan told them.

"But that's too long... how can we stay here for another 1 month?... isn't there any way by which we can waive this?" Asad asked

"Apparently it cannot usually be waived but then in certain cases, it can be done like if your stay is short and there is an urgent need to get married etc.. but for that you have to meet the district lawyer and put across him your case and if he feels that you can be allowed to go through the ceremony without fulfilling the requirement of residency, then it can be done... Asad may be because you are a famous person and an actor and all, they might allow it."

"Wait a minute...it's more than a month since I have been staying in France and out if it, I have stayed in Paris for 3 weeks... so wouldn't it count, in case they do not agree to waive that for us?"

"I guess we have to go and talk to a district lawyer first... that will be the best... and Zoya it also says that you have to have proof of your residency like a utility bill... do you have that?" Hassan asked Zoya.

"No I had stayed with my friend... so I don't have them." Zoya said dismayed. And Asad reached out, draped his arm around her shoulder and hugged her to him.

"Don't worry sweetheart... we will find a way and we will do it."

"Zoya your friend must be having her bills and perhaps if she can testify and show some evidence that you were staying with her it might help... why don't you ask her?" Hassan told Zoya.

Zoya had called Michelle once from Eze and had told her about Asad and the reason why she stayed back in Eze and Michelle was initially too surprised and shocked but then she quickly became happy and excited for Zoya. And now Zoya did not know how she would react if she called her and told her that she was getting married this quickly.

Asad and Hassan then left to meet a lawyer and Zoya called Michelle.

"You what!" Michelle screamed at the other end after hearing what Zoya said.

"Michelle, please don't make me deaf... you heard it right... me and Asad wants to get married right away... and I need your help."

"Zoya are you really serious about this? And are you sure of what you are doing... I mean it's so soon and it's like a whirlwind romance and now you are getting married this way like an elopement... so I'm really concerned about you Zoya."

"Michelle... I understand why you are worried... a true friend will think that way... but I am very sure of this... I know that Asad is the one for me and we both love each other very much... and I have told you earlier about my father and his intentions. He will never agree for me to get married to Asad... so we have to do it this way." Zoya said sadly.

"Alright Zoe... if you are absolutely sure of this, then I am so happy for you... and I can't wait to meet your Asad... I will come to Paris after 5 days and I will stay till your wedding gets over." Michelle's voice had changed from worry to excitement once again and Zoya chuckled after disconnecting the call. She was grateful to have Michelle as her friend.

Asad came back that evening and told her that the lawyer had asked both of them to come and meet him in 2 days but he had given hope that it can be done.

Zoya was standing in the balcony of her room, gazing at the night time Paris skyline, lost in thoughts of how her life had changed in a short time; when she heard Asad and she turned around to face him and smiled happily.

"That's good... I am so relieved Asad." she said brightly and seeing her happy, Asad's heart fluttered.

He came up to her lazily and wound his arms around her waist and drew her to him for a gentle kiss. Asad marveled at how much Zoya had come to mean to him in such a short time. And content and happy they stayed in each others arms, enjoying the magical feel of the city of love.

"You look tired Darling." Zoya said softly after a while and caressed his cheek which had a two day old dark stubble. She somehow found him even more sexy with that stubble.

"Yea I am a little tired... I guess it's all the traveling around today. Let's have dinner and sleep early tonight. We have a long day tomorrow as well...I will just freshen up and come." Saying it he went to the adjoining room. Asad had somehow felt that Zoya would not be too comfortable in sharing a room with him before marriage despite the fact that they have already made love, and he had booked a two bedroom suite for them.

The next few days flew by quickly. They had to get several other documents including birth certificates, a medical certificate and a certificate from American embassy saying that their marriage would be recognized in US and another certificate saying that they are free to get married.

And on the third day when they went to meet the lawyer, to their delight he gave permission for them to get married without completing the required residency period; but he had also taken in to consideration the three weeks that Zoya had stayed with Michelle and had asked them to submit a proof of that when they submit their dossier to the city Hall.

And then finally on the 5th day they were able to submit their application to the city hall. The city hall then put up something called as a marriage Bann outside its premises, which was a public announcement of the intention of the couple to marry, so that anyone who was objecting to it can do so before the marriage took place.

And on the same day Michelle had also arrived from Italy and Asad entrusted Michelle with the task of getting Zoya's wedding dress done. However he had already talked with the designer and the designer was already expecting Zoya.

And when Michelle and Zoya entered the elegant and expensive looking boutique of the world famous designer, Michelle gasped and pulled Zoya to her side.

"Zoe now I know why you are marrying Asad. He is a movie star and a famous Pianist and obviously can afford to give you this kind of luxury." She whispered in Zoya's ear.

"Michelle..." Zoya gasped. She was not sure for a second whether her friend was joking or serious. And seeing her shocked expression, Michelle giggled mischievously.

"Zoe I was just joking... I can see in your eyes the love that you both have for each other and I know very well that you don't have any ulterior motive in marrying him... and like you have told me earlier, after meeting Asad even I feel that he is the one for you. You both look like you are made for each other." Michelle said seriously.

Meanwhile, Asad was busy roaming around the city with Hassan looking at the tentative venues for their final religious wedding ceremony. He wanted the place to be perfect and he wanted to surprise Zoya with it. Paris had numerous wonderful places for conducting a wedding ceremony. There were beautiful hotels, restaurants, outdoor gardens, old converted Palaces and many more, but Asad wanted that one unique and perfect place.

And then finally he settled for an 18th century small chateau with a charming garden in front, which was situated outside Paris, about 2 hours drive away. After booking the place they went to meet with the Imam of one of the largest mosques in Paris. They talked to the Imam regarding the marriage and he agreed to conduct the ceremony for them.

With too many things to do and to organize, the ten day Bann period soon flew away. Zoya had to go for several fittings of her gown and then she had to go and buy the accessories to go with her dress including her shoes. And with everything else that he had to organize, Asad had not gone to get his own clothes made and Zoya had started to become nervous. She not only wanted herself to look good, but she wanted Asad to look equally good as well on their wedding. The same designer who was designing her gown was going to make Asad's suit as well and he had assured her that it would be done but still Zoya was getting panicked and Asad finally went to the boutique with her that day, when there was just five days left for the wedding.

And with all that going on, Asad and Zoya hardly had any time for themselves except in the evenings, and on most of the evenings they were too tired to do anything except have dinner and sleep early. But they did not mind it, they were happy and eagerly looking forward to the day when they could say "I do" to each other.

And then finally the day arrived for their civil marriage ceremony. Zoya wore a simple royal blue colored peplum dress that fell 3 inches below her knees. It was a dress she herself had designed and got stitched. She had accessorized it with a thin jeweled belt at the waist and an elegant diamond necklace with matching earrings and a bracelet; a set that Asad had gifted her few nights back.

Asad had worn a three piece suit with a light blue shirt and a royal blue tie to match her dress, and even in their simple attire they both looked elegant and dashing together. And accompanied by Hassan, Michelle and Hassan's father who were going to be their witnesses they reached the city hall where they were ushered to a separate room dedicated for marriages. The ceremony was simple and it was conducted in French so Hassan acted as their translator. The civil official who Hassan told them was a Deputy Mayor read the French Civil Code concerning the Act of marriage; which basically stated that the couple enjoining should be committed to each other and share an equal role in marriage. After the reading they were asked for affirmation of the said and when they affirmed it they were pronounced as husband and wife. And they were made to sign the register followed by signing of witnesses.

And that night they went for a celebration dinner with Michelle, Hassan and his wife at the famous Les Ombres roof top Restaurant overlooking the River Seine and giving a panoramic view of Paris along with the Eiffel Tower. They were so happy that night, but for them, the religious ceremony was in a way more important and they could not wait for next day to arrive.

Next day morning they set out to go to the Chateau. Asad, Zoya and Michelle left together. Hassan was to bring the Imam so Hassan and his family would arrive late in the afternoon. The only other guest invited for the ceremony was Michelle's boyfriend who would be arriving from Italy in the afternoon again.

And when they arrived at the Chateau, the wedding planner whom Asad had hired was already there and they had started the work. Zoya was immediately awestruck by the beauty of the place and even Michelle who had lived in France and had seen many such even grandeur and bigger places could not help in admiring the beauty of that smaller chateau.

The stunning mansion was actually built in the 17th century and it originally belonged to a Duke. It was renovated recently keeping in mind the traditional aspects and it had the combination of modern elegance mixed with traditional old French charm of the days of the monarchy.

The entrance to the property was through a large iron gate which led into an avenue surrounded by trees leading to a landscaped garden with several trees and bushes full of flowers. A small pond with a fountain in the middle added more charm to the garden. The ground floor of the chateau opened to the garden in front through a large hall with marble flooring. The hall led to a salon on one side with a large marble fire place and sofas upholstered with silk and intricately hand curved wooden legs along with flower printed silk Shams. And a large crystal chandelier hung from the vaulted ceiling added more charm and beauty to the room. And to Asad's delight there was a Piano on one side of the room. The ground floor also had a dining room which can seat 15 people.

And the chateau had a total of 8 bedrooms split over the next 3 floors. From the ground floor, a winding staircase with intricately curved wrought iron railings led to the first floor drawing room. From the drawing room, on one side a passage way led to bedrooms and on the other side, the drawing room opened to a terrace which overlook the front garden.

And all throughout the chateau, wood paneling on the walls, wall length windows with heavy velvet drapes and arched doors gave the place a rich royal charm and accessories like wall paintings from the French Renaissance period, ornate candle stands and lamp shades added to the beauty of the place.

Soon after they arrived Michelle took Zoya to one of the rooms and ordered her to take a nap so that she would look fresh and rested for the ceremony in the late afternoon. Zoya was too excited to sleep; she was no longer feeling any nervousness after previous day's civil ceremony, but because of Michelle's insistence she tried to sleep and to her surprise she actually did and woke up 2 hours later just in time to start her make up and get ready.

Michelle prevented her from going anywhere outside her room and she had no idea about what was going on outside and not even where Asad was. Soon after that the person hired to do her makeup came and it took almost 2 hours for her to get ready.

"You look stunning Zoe." Michelle who entered her room exclaimed and stood at the threshold staring at her friend with a smile.

The gown that Zoya had chosen for her was an ivory coloured one and it was a slim fitting A - line gown with a bodice that fitted up to the natural waist and then the gown flowed in to a flaring skirt made of Tulle with a train at the back. It had exquisite embroidery work throughout and was encrusted with thousands of Swarovski crystals and tiny pearls. The upper part of the gown had a sweet heart neckline just above the bust, but above it, the chest was covered with a sheer illusion neck piece having embroidery and a boat neck and ending at the shoulder as a short cap sleeve; thus making the gown sexy as well as modest at the same time.

And she had asked the stylist to do her hair in an upward messy bun with curls in the front, framing her face and some white roses pinned behind on top of the bun. The retro messy look suited her face and made her face look exotic. But for the religious ceremony she had to cover her hair with a clothe made like a veil. It also had embroidery work and tiny beads and pearls on it and Zoya went to put it over her head.

"Thanks Michelle... even you look stunning." Michelle was Zoya's only friend there and Zoya had insisted that Michelle should wear a dress made by the same designer who did her gown. Zoya was going to pay for Michelle's dress herself but Asad came to know about Michelle's dress through the designer and paid for it himself along with Zoya's gown and his own suit without even informing Zoya about it.

"It's time to go down Zoe... come with me." And suddenly once again Zoya felt a slight nervousness and a queasy sensation at the pit of her stomach at the thought of crossing that final step which would make her and Asad united for eternity and she felt sad at the thought that her family was not there to witness it and take part in it. She took a deep breath to calm herself and went towards Michelle who held out her hand to her. And holding Michelle's hand she walked out of her room and down the stairs to the ground floor hall and her breath took away seeing the beautiful chateau made even more beautiful by the decorations done by the wedding planner.

Different kinds of flower arrangements made with purple Tuscany irises, white roses, peonies and orchids were kept everywhere. The ceremony was to be held outside and as Zoya and Michelle walked out of the chateau in to the garden, a few steps away from the door they were greeted by an archway which was again decorated with peonies, white roses and lilies. And once they crossed through the archway, they had to walk through a path made on the grass by scattering white and purple coloured flower petals. The pathway led to a canopied, gazebo like area near the pond. It was covered on the sides with thin white drapes and was again decorated with flowers. Inside of it was partitioned with another thin white sheet and as Michelle and Zoya reached the entrance, Hassan's mother and wife were there to greet her and she was led to one side of the partition and Zoya saw Asad on the other side standing with Hassan, his father and another guy who Zoya guessed to be Michelle's fiance Tony.

Zoya knew that Muslim marriage ceremonies would be conducted somewhat differently in France and she understood that Asad must have instructed Hassan and his family and everyone else regarding what to be done in order to make the ceremony as close as to their own Indian customs and Zoya knew that it was the reason why Hassan's mother and Wife were there to greet her and escort her inside just like her own family would have done.

And Zoya realized the extent to which Asad had gone to make the day special for her. He had looked in to everything and organized everything on his own without involving her at all and everything was so perfect and beautiful including the place, the decorations and the atmosphere and at that moment Zoya truly felt like a Princess, her Asad's Princess and tears welled in her eyes realizing how much he loved her and she looked up and gazed at him through the partition. And although she could not clearly see him too well through it, she knew that he was looking at her.

"I love you Asad." She said silently and smiled at him in gratitude.

And on the other side, Asad stood gazing at Zoya wondering what she would be thinking at that moment. He badly wanted to see her properly and he could not wait for the ceremony to be over so that he could really see how she looked. He knew that she would look beautiful but he wanted to look at her directly and gaze at her beautiful eyes to see the love reflected in them that he himself was feeling for her at that moment.

"Cannot wait to see her huh!." Seeing Asad lost Tony nudged him and whispered and Hassan who stood on Asad's other side heard it and smiled.

"Yea looks like someone is already dreaming about tonight." Hassan laughed and pulled Asad's leg more.

"Nothing of the sort..." Asad said feeling embarrassed thinking Hassan's father who stood behind them might also have heard what they said.

And at that moment the Imam who was standing at a side with another man who was his assistant signaled to Hassan's father that he was going to start the ceremony.

The Imam started the ceremony by saying "Bismillah (In the name of Allah) Al-Rahman (The most Gracious) Al-Raheem (The most merciful)."

The Imam then started the recitation of marriage sermon ( Nikah Khutba), by praising Allah and seeking his guidance and help, which translated into English as, "Praise be to Allah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) is His slave and Messenger."

This was followed by recitation from Holy Qur'an, 2 verses related to marriage and a Hadith of Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) regarding marriage and its importance.

The sermon was concluded with the Imam making a prayer (du'a) for the bride and groom, their families, the guests, and the entire Muslim community as a whole. And then in the closing remarks he reiterated that marriage is one-half of one's religious duty to Allah; and as such engaging in it was regarded as an act of worship.

And following the sermon, the actual marriage ceremony began.

The Imam first stated that this was the marriage of Mr. Asad Ahmed Khan, son of Mr. Rashid Ahmed khan to Miss Zoya Ahmed Siddique, daughter of Mr. Ghaffur Ahmed Siddique.

"Do you, Mr. Asad Ahmed Khan accept Miss Zoya Ahmed Siddique, daughter of Mr. Ghaffur Ahmed Siddique as your wife for the amount of 5000 dollars as her Mahr?" The Imam then turned towards Asad and asked with clear emphasis on each word.

And Asad took a deep breath and looked at Zoya through the partition.

"I, Asad Ahmed Khan accept the hand of Zoya Ahmed Siddique, daughter of Mr. Ghaffur Ahmed Siddique as my wife in accordance with the sunnah of the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) for the specified Mahr of 5000 dollars." Asad said with conviction in his deep voice and Zoya felt that it was the most beautiful thing that she would ever hear in her life.

The Imam then turned towards Zoya and asked whether she accepted Mr. Asad Ahmed Khan, son of Mr. Rashid Ahmed Khan as her husband.

"I accept Mr. Asad Ahmed khan as my husband." Zoya said softly in a trembling voice with tears in her eyes, but her voice was still loud enough for everyone to hear and Asad smiled at her with tears in his own eyes.

The Imam then declared them as husband and wife and then congratulated them by saying a prayer."Barak Allahu laka wa baraka alayka wa jamaa baynakuma" which translated in English as "May Allah bless you and have His blessing descend upon you and unite you in goodness."

After that Hassan drew away the clothe that acted as partition and Zoya and Asad came face to face properly. They stood staring at each other shyly marveling at the fact they have become each others for life and they were husband and wife now.

"Are you going to just stand there and stare at her or will you give her the gift?" Hassan asked Asad playfully and gave him an envelope which Asad had given him earlier and it was then that Asad realized that he was supposed to gift Zoya with the Mahr at that time.

He walked up to Zoya slowly and held out the envelope by holding it out with both hands all the while gazing in to her eyes lovingly. And Zoya held out her hands and held the other edge of the envelope with both hands, and they stood that way gazing in to each other's eyes their hands holding the envelope that contained the Mahr which bonded a man and woman together in the most auspicious relationship according to Islam; marriage.

And then suddenly they became aware of the eyes staring at them smilingly and Asad let go of the envelope and Zoya clutched it shyly.

Asad then reached in to his pocket and withdrew a small box and opened it. He took out the ring inside and gave the box to Hassan and he turned towards Zoya once again.

"May I?" he asked Zoya with a smile and held out his left hand towards her hand and Zoya nodded and put her hand on top of his palm and Asad put the ring on her finger. Although ring exchange is not a part of Muslim marriage ceremonies, some couples did it and they had earlier decided that they wanted to do it as a symbol of their love and they had gone to the Cartier boutique at Place Vendome few days back and had chosen the rings. On that day, Zoya had immediately liked the ring Asad chose for her and today when she saw it on her finger as a permanent symbol of their love, she loved it even more. It was a thin platinum band with 4 small glittering diamonds in the center that Asad said signified the letters of their name as both Asad and Zoya had four letters in their name.

Zoya then reached out to the box that Michelle had held out to her and took out Asad's ring which was a simple platinum band with the letters A and Z engraved inside. She reached for Asad's hand and slipped it on to his finger and they held each others hands and smiled at each other. Hassan, Tony and Michelle who were the only three present there at that time, then left the couple alone and went from there to give them a moment alone. The photographer who was taking their pictures also withdrew from there quietly.

"You look beautiful Mrs. Asad Ahmed khan." Asad whispered and brought her hands to his lips and kissed them.

"And you look dashing Hubby." Zoya whispered and wound her arms loosely around his waist.

Asad had worn a slim fitting tuxedo consisting of a jet black jacket, trousers and a vest of a lighter shade along with a white shirt complete with a bow tie and a purple lily on the lapel of his jacket. The jacket fitted him well emphasizing his perfect broad shoulders and slim waist and Zoya had never seen him look more handsome.

They smiled at each other happily and Asad drew her closer and kissed her lips tenderly not caring about who might be seeing them. And just when they broke apart, Michelle came inside and told them to come out for a photo session as the photographer was waiting to take their photos outside before the sunset.

And while the guests including the Imam enjoyed refreshments; Asad and Zoya went with the photographer who asked them to pose at various places outside in the garden and inside the chateau as well. And when they returned, Hassan's parents were ready to go back to Paris accompanying the Imam and his assistant and they said good bye to them.

Asad had asked Hassan, his wife Noorin, Tony and Michelle to stay the night at the Chateau with them and they were happy to stay back. And soon after that the wedding planner and her assistants also left leaving the three couples alone.

And after a delicious 5 course dinner organized by the chateau owners; who would also do the catering for Asad and Zoya for the next two days, they all retired to the ground floor salon. It turned out that Hassan and Michelle were the most talkative of them and they both kept on reminiscing the days when Hassan was at university with Asad and Michelle was at high school with Zoya. And after a while Zoya excused herself and went from there but when she did not return after about half an hour Asad started wondering where she was and what she could be doing. And at that same moment, Michelle asked Asad to play the Piano for them but Asad told them that he wanted to first see where Zoya was. He had suddenly become uneasy about Zoya's prolonged absence from there.

Asad had just climbed to the first floor and was crossing the drawing room wondering whether Zoya had gone to the bedroom when he saw her standing at the edge of the terrace looking outside. She was still wearing the gown she wore for the ceremony but she had let her hair down and the gentle evening breezes played with her tresses but it looked as if she was not even aware of that.

Asad walked up to her softly and snaked his arms around her waist from behind and held her hands together with his own.

"Sweetheart, what are you doing standing here all alone?" he asked and rested his chin on her shoulder. It was then that he noticed the tear stains on her cheeks. He immediately turned Zoya around so that he could see her face properly and looked at her carefully.

"Thinking of parents?" Asad asked her gently and tilted her chin and looked in to her eyes searchingly and Zoya nodded. He had immediately understood that there could not be any other reason why she would cry on that day when they were actually so happy.

"I am sorry Asad... I just missed them and wished they could have been here and wished my father was different... but I know that my father would never change and would never agree for us to get married... so I will never regret the decision I made to have our wedding this way... but still Asad, I am feeling more sad now thinking that even you have missed your parent's presence here today because of me... and I wonder what they would think of us, especially think of me when they learn about us." Zoya said sadly.

"Now Zoe, please don't think about all this today... I won't deny the fact that even I am missing my family today and wished they could be here... But Zoe, I understand that this is the best way for us to get married and like you have told me on that night I understand that we should get married before we go back to US; and right now us being together and your happiness is the most important thing for me... I do miss my parents because just like you mean to me, they also mean a lot to me and i am sad that they have missed this, but at the same time, I have faith that they would understand and support us when I explain everything to them... and I know that they will lovingly accept you and will never blame you for missing their son's wedding... so don't worry about all that now and feel sad... today should be the happiest day of our life Zoe." Asad held her face with both hands and caressed her cheeks lovingly with his thumbs.

"I am happy Asad... and it's strange isn't it? Even though I am feeling sad right now this really is the happiest day of my life... And how could I not be happy when you have made this day so special for me and when we have become each other's for life... and everything is so wonderful and beautiful today including this place... thank you Asad, thank you for everything and thank you for becoming my husband... I truly feel like a Princess today and you are truly my Prince charming and I feel so lucky to have you in my life and I thank Allah that he sent you into my life."

"Zoe even I thank Allah for sending you into my life and making me so happy... do you know something Zoe? When I came to France this time I was somehow feeling unhappy and dissatisfied with my life and I felt as if something was missing in my life... and I was trying to complete a piece of music which I was trying to make since few months... but I couldn't somehow finish that also... and then I came here thinking that may be a change of atmosphere would help me... but even after coming here I still couldn't make the music up to my level of satisfaction... and then you came and after I asked you to stay back in Eze and you stayed, I got the hang of what was missing from my music and I was finally able to make it into something good... and I realized that it was you who inspired me to finally make it properly... And during those days another thing that I realized was that you are that 'something' which was missing from my life and I decided to propose to you and ask you to stay in my life always...You make my life complete Zoe... and you make my everyday beautiful and you give meaning to my life... so when you make me so happy how could I not in return try to make you happy hmm?" he asked with a slight smile and Zoya smiled back at him.

"Now let's go down... tonight I want to play for you and our loving friends the music that you have inspired me to make... I want you all to be the first ones to hear it... come." He held Zoya's hand and they walked down together. And Asad sat near the Piano and gestured for Zoya to come and sit beside him. He then played some of his old music first and everyone was awed by his talent and got lost in the beauty of his music. And then at the end he told others that he would end by playing a new piece of music which he had recently made and which no one has heard yet. And when he finished playing Tony who knew music quite well and who knew how to even play the Piano got up and clapped.

"Asad it's too good... I am sure you will break many records with this one." Tony said with conviction and Asad looked at Zoya and smiled at her.

"Thanks Tony... I am really happy to know that you think it's good... but all the credit goes to my wife here... if she had not come in to my life I don't think I would have ever completed that." Asad said seriously and hugged Zoya sideways and their friends looked at them feeling genuinely happy for the lovely couple.

"I guess it's time we retired and let this newlyweds be alone... come on let's go." Michelle said and others followed her leaving Asad and Zoya alone.

Asad then stood up and suddenly lifted Zoya in to his arms and started walking.

"Asad what are you doing? Put me down." Zoya said laughing.

"I am carrying you up to our room... isn't it a custom for the groom to carry the bride this way?" Asad grinned mischievously.

"I guess it is... but my Darling Husband, our room is on the third floor... you will get tired by the time you climb all those stairs." Zoya said. The Master Suite had been prepared for them and Zoya knew that Michelle had already shifted her things from the room that she was initially using that day.

"Hmm is that so?... let's see... do you wanna bet on it my darling wife?.. what will you give me if I reach our room without getting tired as you are saying?"

"I will give anything that you ask for." Zoya smiled at him naughtily and wound her arms around his neck

"Anything?" Asad raised his eyebrow and Zoya nodded at him. She then nuzzled his neck and bit his earlobe playfully.

And to Zoya's surprise he climbed all the stairs carrying her in his arms and entered their room and he was not even a bit breathless. Once inside, he stopped momentarily seeing the beauty of the room and its decorations. The room had been faintly lit with antique lanterns kept around the room and decorated with various types of flower arrangements. The bed was a 4 poster canopied bed and it was also decorated with flower petals.

Their gaze took in the beauty of the room and then Asad carried Zoya slowly up to the bed and put her on it gently and then lay beside her. They just lay gazing at each other for a while and once again they marveled at the thought that they have truly become husband and wife. Asad then moved closer to Zoya, bent down and captured her lips tenderly but the sweet kiss soon turned in to a passionate one.

"So my darling wife, I won... and so are you ready to give me anything that I ask for?" Asad ran a finger down her throat and whispered seductively when they finally broke apart and Zoya reached for the buttons on his vest. He had already removed his jacket and tie during the evening and was wearing just the shirt and the vest.

"I am more than ready... But right now, the first thing I want to do is see the fit body of my husband which carried me all the way here." Zoya said huskily and then lifted her head a little and kissed his Adam's apple. They then reached for each other eagerly. By mutual unspoken agreement they had not made love again since the night at the yacht; they had patiently waited till the marriage got over. But now suddenly they had become impatient to once again feel each other's love in the most intimate way. And clothes were soon discarded and they explored each others body in silent harmony and the only sounds heard in the room were the sounds of their intermittent appreciation of the satisfaction and the pleasure they gave each other.

Next day morning Hassan, Noorin, Michelle and Tony left for Paris. Asad had booked the chateau for two nights so Asad and Zoya stayed there for another night and that night he gifted her with another present and when she opened it she saw that they were tickets for Switzerland.

"You wanted to travel around Europe but because of me you did not go... so I thought that we could go to Switzerland for our honeymoon." Asad said and Zoya flung her arms around his neck.

"You really spoil me Asad." She whispered with a smile.
