From playing a lead in Kajjal " Sabki Aankhon Mein Basi to a grey character in Bade Achche Laggte Hain, Chahat Khanna has come a long way in showbiz. Vivacious Chahat sports the grey shade again in Qubool Hai.
Excerpts from a chat:
You quit Bade Achche Laggte Hain because you got married. How is life post marriage? My husband Farhan (Mirza) and I recently celebrated ourfirst wedding anniversary. I would say it is a mixed feeling. Not good and not bad but different. With marriage, you come across many changes in your life; and you happily accept those changes. And to be honest, I didn't quit Bade Achche Laggte Hain because I was getting married. I quit the show because my character had come to a stand still and I was not enjoying doing it anymore.

After a long gap that you are back ona daily soap. How does that feel? I wasn't really sitting at home. I did a couple of endorsements and was hosting a show for a food channel. But I did miss acting and working on fiction shows. Now that I am back onthe daily soaps, it feels like homecoming.
Your character in Qubool Hai is a grey one. Don't you fear of being stereotyped at this rate? I am sorry if I may sound rude here, but, in my opinion " all good looking and beautiful girls end up playing negative characters on small screen. Take a closer look at all the Hindi GECs and you will see that average looking girls end up playing the female leads. As for me, I am not scared of being stereotyped as I firmly feel that grey characters are far more appealing and challenging. Sati savitri kind of roles feel unreal to me.
You have been part of many movies in minuscule roles. Why didn't you try harder at bagging lead roles? I have got many offers to play important roles but I am not comfortable doing bold scenes. This is why I declined most movie offers. I prefer working as per my comfort zone and on my own terms and conditions.
Tell us what do you prefer doing when you're off camera... I was always inclined to singing, dancing and writing. I love to write poems, songs, nazms, shayaris, small storiesetc. But, it is just confined to my personal collection. I never planned to make it commercial. Although now I'm thinking on the lines of publishing a novel Let's see how that shapes up. I love to travel with my husband. I am also assisting him in his construction business.
Have you written something romantic for Farhan?Yes, I composed few nazms for him. But totell you frankly, he is more romantic than me. He is a Nawab, so he knows how to court a woman and make her feel like a princess. It comes naturally to him.

Does she think herself some Aishwarya or what? from which angle is so pretty to be so bold to generalize all female lead as average? 😔 So Miss Khanna finds sati savitri kind of roles unreal but Typical vamps are so real 😆

'Average looking girls end up playing the female leads.'

I know it's her opinion but that is the stupidest, cockiest statement I've heard in a while 😆

I'd any day take talent over looks anyway. Looks can only get you so far.

The audacity of this lady 😲... I'm sorry but if the good girls roles are given to the average looking girls then she's trying to claim that she's above average, ego much?
Maybe it's her opinion but one that should be kept to herself instead of coming across as insensitive and rude

she is soo overconfident about herself...i dnt say that all the female leads are aishwarya rai's...but it doesnt mean that they are not good looking...in my pont of view most are quite pretty girls...but the vamps beign beautiful are very rarely seen...i see many serials in which vamps who look like dians...even amrapali is a pretty actress...before she played lead role and now negative...so here the looks doesnt matter...and the only thing that matters is acting ability...in qh the pretty and beautiful amrapali and alkaji were just mind blowing as vamps...not only in telivision even in films actors or actresses they are ready to do negative roles if it has potential...and here she is talking as if she only does this
