Part 48:
It was finally the day of the grand wedding; Asad and Zoya's wedding!!! All the guests had arrived and Dilshaad and Zainab were welcoming all the guests at the door, while Zoya was getting ready in her room, and the girls were helping her out.
"Woww Zoya!! You look heavenly in this blue lehenga!!" complimented Tanveer.
"Thanks Tannu!!" said Zoya with a smile and was wearing her bangles.
"Tannu, your saas started her usual habit, complaining over the dishes" said Humeira giggling, while doing Zoya's hair.
"Imraan will take care of her, don't worry!!" said Tanveer and they laughed hearing it.
"By the way Zoya..." Nikhat came there with a sweet box, "Take one!!"
"Sweets?? What's the matter Nikhat??" asked Zoya taking one from the box.
"It's good news!" said Nikhat smiling.
"Good news?? For your marriage??" asked Humeira.
"No!!" said Nikhat.
"Then??" asked Tanveer.
"The good news is that...our Tanveer is going to be a mother!!!" said Nikhat putting her hand over Tanveer and Zoya got up from her chair closing her mouth in awe, and Humeira was equally surprised.
Tanveer looked at Nikhat with a confused look, "You..."
"What?? Wondering how I got to know??" asked Nikhat, "I came to your room at night to search for cotton and came across your report!!"
"Tannu!!! Why didn't you tell us??" asked Zoya.
"I wanted to surprise you all after your wedding, and that's the reason I even asked Imraan not to tell anyone, but this Nikhat ruined my surprise!!" said Tanveer and stared at Nikhat.
"Anyways congrats Tannu!!!" congratulated Zoya and hugged Tanveer and so did Nikhat and Humeira.
Back at the other room, Asad was looking at him in the mirror, and Ayaan kept a blue satin kerchief on the sherwani pocket.
"What a wonderful sherwani dude!!" said Imraan, "You look dashing in blue man!!!"
"Thanks Imraan. It is uncle's choice" said Asad.
"Yaar Asad...still you are calling him uncle??" asked Ayaan, "He is Zoya's Abbu and so he is your Abbu as well."
"I know dude, but since childhood I am used to calling him uncle. So I will take time!" said Asad, and Rashid and Kabir came in.
"So, bridegroom is ready??" asked Rashid as he looked at Asad.
"Yes Sir!! Asad is all set to take his bride home!!" said Farhaan and Asad smiled hearing it.
"Well, the Maulwi has come and in some time we shall go down. We will go visit Zoya and come back" said Kabir and he went with Rashid.
"Guys!!! We will also go!!" said Farhaan, and Ayaan and Imraan too joined.
"Well, shall I also join??" asked Asad giving a silly smile at Ayaan.
"Asad Miyaa!!" Ayaan put his hand over Asad's shoulders, "Just an hour more, and then you can look at your Zoya for how much ever time you want, okay??"
Saying so, Ayaan giggled with the others and left Asad alone at the room, while Asad sat at the chair with a disappointed face.
"Zoya...Zoya...how much more time should I wait to look at you??" asked Asad resting his face on his palm.
"What??? Really???" exclaimed Ayaan, as they all reached Zoya's room.
"Yeah!!" said Humeira, "And these both have decided to hide it from us. If not for Nikhat, even now we wouldn't have known it."
"You idiot!!! How dare you hide this from us??" asked Ayaan hitting Imraan playfully, "Anyways congrats bro!!!"
"Isn't it nice that all happy events are taking place??" asked Zoya smiling, "My wedding, then Dilshaad Khala's wedding, Tannu's pregnancy, then Farhaan and Ayaan's wedding..."
"What????" exclaimed Ayaan in horror, "My wedding with Farhaan!!! Zoya!! I am already engaged to Humeira!!!"
"Oh God!! Ayaan!!" exclaimed Zoya, "I meant yours and Humeira's wedding, and Farhaan and Nikhat's wedding!!!"
"Ufff!!!" heaved Ayaan, "You scared me!!!"
All were laughing when Zoya got a call. She looked at the phone and saw Asad's name flashing. She stealthily excused herself from there and picked up the call.
"Hey handsome!!!" said Zoya.
"Hello beautiful!!" said Asad with a smile.
"What happened baby?? Wedding is in an hour and you have called me??"
"What to do sweetheart?? People are testing my patience a lot by stopping me from meeting you...I am dying to meet you!!" said Asad.
"Awww...it's okay Asad...just some more time and then you can see me how much ever you want...I will be all yours!!!"
After an hour, Asad had already reached down at the wedding arena and sat down over there with all the guys seated next to him and Rashid too sat next to Asad.
In some time, Zoya came down the stairs with all the ladies and Asad was looking at Zoya in her studded ink blue lehenga, but saw her face through the veil which they had covered her. He admired her beauty through the veil. Zoya too was seated in her place and the girls sat next to her.
Zoya looked at Asad through the veil and blushed looking at her prince charming.
Kabir and Zainab stood behind Zoya and Zainab moved near Kabir.
"You are still looking handsome!!" said Zainab in a low tone and holding back her smile.
"I know that...you were one among the girls who fell for my looks right??" asked Kabir and smiled at Rashid who was looking at them.
"Yeah right...you were Rajesh Khanna yeah??" asked Zainab slowly.
"And you were Hema Malini??" asked Kabir and looked at Zainab. They both laughed silently and looked at Asad and Zoya.
Rashid complimented Dilshaad sitting at the other side and Dilshaad was smiling back at him in a blushing way.
"Baaji, Jiju, sit down!!" said Dilshaad looking at Zainab and Kabir.
"We will sit with Asad" said Zainab while Kabir looked at her, "Zoya has her Aunt with her; Asad doesn't have anyone with him yeah. We will be in his side!!"
Zoya looked at Zainab hearing it and smiled emotionally, while Kabir and Zainab went to Asad's side.
"So, we are starting the nikaah now!!" said the Maulwi and started the prayers. Kabir came and sat next to Asad, while Zainab stood at Asad's side with the ladies.
"Asad Ahmed Khan, wald Marhum Ajmal Ahmed Khan, aapka nikaah Zoya Iqbal Mohammed, bint Kabir Iqbal Mohammad se tay kiya gaya hai. Kya aapko yeh nikaah qubool hai??"
Asad looked at Zoya through the veil and smiled, while Zoya too looked at Asad through the veil.
"Qubool Hai!!"
Zoya smiled looking down hearing it.
"Aapko Zoya Iqbal Mohammed se yeh nikaah Qubool Hai??"
"Qubool hai!!"
"Aapko Qubool hai??"
"Qubool Hai!!"
Everyone rejoiced hearing it and Kabir and Zainab smiled hearing it. Ayaan, Imraan and Farhaan congratulated Asad.
The Maulwi then came to Zoya.
"Zoya Iqbal Mohammad, bint Kabir Iqbal Mohammad, aapka nikaah Asad Ahmed Khan, wald Marhum Ajmal Ahmed Khan se tay hua hai. Kya aapko ye nikaah qubool hai??"
Zoya recalled all the struggle they had gone all the while for this day to arrive in their life, the days Asad struggled to get her Ammi's consent and how he promised on her and her love that he would marry Zoya with everyone's approval and with everyone being happy at their wedding.
Zoya looked at everyone with teary eyes, and saw both her parents at their wedding, that too as Asad's parents, and Asad sitting opposite to her with a smiling face.
Dilshaad looked at Zoya to tell it.
"Qubool Hai!!" said Zoya with tears flowing through her smiling face.
Asad smiled hearing it.
"Kya Aapko Asad Ahmed Khan se yeh nikaah Qubool Hai??"
"Qubool Hai!!"
"Aapko yeh nikaah Qubool Hai??"
Zoya closed her eyes letting the tears flow.
"Qubool Hai!!!"
"Mashallah!!" said the Maulwi, "Ab yeh nikaah mukkammal hua!!"
All rejoiced at it and they removed the veil in between them and Zoya and Asad looked at each other with a wide smile with their eyes filled with tears.
They both stood up and the Maulwi came in between them.
The Maulwi looked at Zoya and said "Aaj se aap inki biwi aur ye aap ke shauhar hai!!"
The girls complimented Zoya and smiled at her, while the guys too equally rejoiced.
Dilshaad hugged Zoya happily, while Rashid too hugged Asad and complimented him.
The parents of Ayaan, Humeira, Imraan, Tanveer and Farhaan were too present along with Dr. Mehta and other doctors as well.
All of them celebrated the victory of the love of Asad and Zoya, as much as both of them.
"May Allah bless you both and may you both live for long happily together!!!" blessed Zainab and kissed on Asad's forehead and Zoya's forehead.
Asad hugged Kabir too, "Thank you uncle!! Thank you for everything!!!"
Kabir looked at Asad and smiled, "Now atleast call me Abbu!!"
Asad smiled, "Yes Abbu!!"
Kabir smiled and hugged Zoya too and kissed on her forehead.
"Excuse me...well well..." excused Rashid as he came to Zainab.
"Mrs. and Mr. Mohammed, I have an official request to you both!!" said Rashid while Zainab looked at him with a confused look.
"Mrs. Mohammed, I love your sister Dilshaad a lot, since my college days!! And even she loves me a lot!!" said Rashid as Dilshaad was giving a puzzled look at Rashid, "Since your parents are not alive, you both are the guardians of Dilshaad yeah?? So, I hereby ask you, if you would be willing to give your sister Dilshaad's hand in marriage to me??"
Everyone clapped hearing it, and Dilshaad covered her face out of embarrassment and Zainab looked at Dilshaad and gave a mocking stare at her, while Dilshaad hid behind Zainab.
"Sir, you still have marriage desire after looking at me too??" asked Imraan, while Tanveer hit on Imraan's stomach.
"Dude, are you serious?? You mean I have to think before marrying her??" asked Ayaan referring to Humeira.
"Sorry Ayaan, you are too late to think all those!!" said Humeira with a mocking smile.
"And we have spent enough time thinking that we can't wait to get married" said Farhaan and Nikhat too laughed with him.
Asad and Zoya too were laughing hearing everything.
"Hmmm well..." said Zainab looking at Rashid, "I should know if your love is true and if you are really a good match for my little sister. So, just like Asad, stay in my house and prove yourself and once I get convinced I will let you marry my sister!!"
"Nooo!!! Not again!!!! I can't wait any more Zainab Sahiba!!" knelt down Rashid while including Zainab everyone broke out laughing, and Zainab winked at Dilshaad and side hugged her and looked at Rashid.
"I was joking!! Don't worry Rashid, my daughter and son-in-law will conduct your marriage with Dilshaad this coming week!!!" announced Zainab and everyone rejoiced hearing it and Kabir too smiled at Zainab hearing it.
It was evening and all of them had gathered at the lawn, as thee friends had organized a party on occasion of Asad and Zoya's wedding, with just all of them, along with Dilshaad, Rashid, Kabir and Zainab.
"Well...now it's gifting time!!!"
Hearing Ayaan, Asad and Zoya, seated in the special decorative chairs too looked at him, and all the friends joined Ayaan.
"Asad and Zoya!! First of all a very hearty congratulations on your wonderful wedding ceremony!!! And we all wish you a very happy married life!!"
As Tanveer ended her sentence, everyone clapped and Asad and Zoya smiled at each other and thanked them.
"So, here we all are with some gifts for this lovely couple!!" said Tanveer and looked at Kabir and Zainab, "Uncle!! Aunty!! Let's begin with you!!"
Kabir and Zainab stood up from their place hearing it and came to Asad and Zoya, and they both got up from their chairs.
"Here, our wedding gift to you both!!" said Kabir and handed a key to Asad and Zoya.
Asad took it from them and looked at Zoya, and then looked at them both.
"What's this key for??" asked Asad.
"A brand new flat for both of you!!" said Zainab and smiled at Kabir.
"Woww!!!!" exclaimed Ayaan, "That's an amazing gift!!!"
"Brand new flat???" asked Zoya with a surprised look.
"Yes!! You both will be shifting to that flat tonight, and we hope that you like it!!" said Kabir.
"Then, what about you both Abbu??" asked Zoya.
Kabir looked at Zainab, "We will be leaving to US in some days!!"
"US?? Why Jiju??" asked Dilshaad, and all were puzzled hearing it.
"Well, Dilshaad, you know yeah, just now things have sorted out in my life and I want to try compensating for all our lost years, and I feel it will be better if we both leave to US" said Zainab, "But don't worry, only after all your weddings, we will leave!! First I will go to London, hand-over the hospital to someone reliable and move in with Kabir to US!!"
"But, you can stay with us right??" asked Asad with a sad look.
"Asad" said Kabir coming to him, "We are not leaving forever!! Every year we will come and visit you all!!"
Everyone smiled hearing it and Dilshaad and Rashid came to Asad and Zoya.
"This is our gift, a 2 seater imported car!!" said Rashid and gave the key to Asad.
"Sir, what's the necessity of getting such an expensive car??" asked Asad.
"Don't worry Asad, Rashid is very rich. This is nothing for him!!" said Dilshaad and winked at Asad and everyone laughed hearing it.
"And our gift is..." said Tanveer and came to them with Imraan, "Tickets for Switzerland...for your honeymoon!!"
"Switzerland!!!! That's amazing choice!!!" said Farhaan.
"It was Tannu's choice" said Imraan.
"My God!! You all are suffocating us with such gifts!!" said Asad looking at Zoya.
"Well, if you don't want them, you can give it to me. I am ready to accept them!!" said Ayaan with a mocking smile.
"Really??" asked Humeira, "With whom will you go for a honeymoon??"
"Honeymoon toh Tannu..." said Ayaan while Imraan came to him, "You will go for a honeymoon with my wife???"
"No yaar...I meant you and..." said Ayaan, while Imraan gave an even shocked look, "Whaaatt???"
"Ya Allah!!! I meant you and Tannu can go!!" Ayaan tapped his forehead, "Listen Imraan, I know you had some sort of feelings for me during college days, but that doesn't mean I would decide to go on a honeymoon with you!! Please!!"
"I had feelings for...Yuck!!! You!!!" shouted Imraan and they started chasing around, while all of them were laughing at them.
"These guys will never grow up!!" said Dilshaad and laughed looking at them.
"Alright Asad, let them finish their running, while I give your gift" said Humeira and gave a gift to them. Asad and Zoya removed the gift wrapper and saw a photo collage with all their friends' photos, along with Rashid and Dilshaad, since the time they had all met with all the beautiful moments they had shared.
"This is so beautiful Humeira!!!" said Zoya looking at the collage frame.
"This is a symbolism to show you that we all were there with you both since the start and this photo frame will remind you of us always, that whatever is the situation, we will always be with you!!" said Humeira and Zoya hugged Humeira being elated.
"Ohhh!!" Ayaan came panting and joined her with Imraan, "You gave it?? Well, love birds, how is it??"
"Wonderful dude!!" said Asad and hugged Ayaan.
"Well, this idea's credit goes to my fiance" said Ayaan looking at Humeira, "Only the frame and photo selection was mine!!"
"We love it!!" said Asad and looked at Zoya who was also happy seeing it.
"Now your turn Farhaan!!" Ayaan signaled him to come and Farhaan came with Nikhat to both of them.
"Well, compared to what all you got from everyone, ours might seem very simple" said Farhaan and they both handed over two boxes to them.
"We got you both couple watches" said Farhaan and they opened the boxes.
"Your favorite black leather Calvin Klein watch!!" Farhaan showed it to Asad.
"And emerald studded coil watch for you!!" Nikhat showed it to Zoya.
"They are lovely!!" said Asad, "By the way, how do you know I love this watch, Farhaan??"
"Yeah" said Zoya, "My favorite one too...how did you know Nikhat??"
"We both gave the info to each other" said Nikhat with a smile, "Just like how Farhaan knows you for a longer time, even I know Asad before you yeah?? So we shared your likes with each other!!"
"That's so sweet of you both" said Asad, "But you had already given me a good gift Farhaan!!"
"What are you saying Asad?" asked Farhaan.
"Honestly speaking Farhaan" said Asad, "I never liked you when you joined our class. I thought you would turn out to be a problem between me and Zoya...your closeness with her...I didn't like anything. But now, you were the one who convinced your parents for calling off your marriage with Zoya, and proved as a supporting stone in our marriage."
Farhaan smiled hearing it, as Zoya added, "Even though you loved Nikhat, you kept all your desires aside and you were ready to marry me and you even asked if I needed your help in stopping the marriage. You proved to be the best man!!"
"Come on, you both are thanking me too much. If not for friends, then for whom yaar??" asked Farhaan and Nikhat too smiled hearing it.
"Alright...time for photo session!!!" said Rashid, "All of you move to that area!!"
Everyone walked over there, while Rashid came to Ayaan and Imraan.
"Guys!!! You all come here" called Rashid and Farhaan and Asad too joined them.
"By the way, when are your weddings??" asked Rashid to Farhaan and Ayaan.
"After your wedding, Farhaan's and then mine!!" said Ayaan.
"It's going to be a wedding month Sir!!" said Asad with a smile.
"Which means for another one month, you guys won't be coming to the hospital only!!" said Rashid with a mocking stare.
"Hahaha...no Sir!!" laughed Asad, "Zoya and I will be resuming our work after 2 weeks."
"And by the way, I don't think so that even you would be available at hospital for some days!!" Ayaan said to Rashid winking at him, while Imraan gave a hi-five to him.
"Guys!! I am your senior professor!!" said Rashid.
"That's only at the hospital Sir!! Not here!!" said Imraan and they all joined the rest for the photo session.
Tanveer came running to them, while Rashid signaled her to stop.
"Tanveer, being a doctor I guess you are aware that pregnant ladies are not supposed to run this fast and must be very careful in their first trimester" said Rashid, while Tanveer scratched her temples and smiled at him.
"They are ladies first Sir, then only doctors!!" said Imraan and twisted her ear, "One more time I see you running like this nah..."
"Ouchhh!! Imraan!!!" Tanveer caught his hand, "I am sorry!!"
Imraan then rubbed her ears and patted her cheek lovingly.
"Well Sir, first photo with all youngsters, next only elders. So you and Dilshaad Ma'am and join in the next photo" said Tanveer.
"Elders??? I look like elder for you??" asked Rashid with a bewildered look.
"Exactly!!!" said Dilshaad as she joined them, "I might be Zoya's Aunt but I am young Tanveer!! Maybe you can include Rashid in elder's category, but don't include me!!"
"Dilshaad, I am just 4 years elder to you" said Rashid, "But doesn't mean I am an Uncle!!"
"Okay Okay!!!' said Asad, "Why this commotion?? You both can join with us. Happy now??"
"I was just joking Sir!!" said Tanveer while Dilshaad pulled her cheeks and they went for the photo session and took plenty of photos and had a wonderful time.
