Chapter 32 Wish #1Sanam was up around nine in the morning. She got dressed up in a banana yellow ghagra and wore a special set of gold jhumka earrings that were given to her by Haider, Humeira, and Hurya. After she fixed her hair, she headed downstairs. She walked around in the hall, looking around. I wonder where Aahil is...we're supposed to meet here in the morning, Sanam said to herself. Sanam unfolded her hand, revealing a small chit in her palm. The chit contained the first wish from her wish list. Sanam saw Rehan walking by.
"Rehan!"
"Yes, Sanam."
"Have you seen Aahil anywhere?"
"He should be around. He's been up for the past hour."
"Oh...okay."
"Anyways, I'm going to work. I'll see you in the evening."
"Sure."
With that, Rehan left. Sanam stood near the pool, waiting impatiently. Just then, she was hugged from behind. The hug startled her and then she realized...it was Aahil. Sanam closed her eyes, feeling shy. "Looking for me?" Aahil asked Sanam with a smile.
"What if someone sees us?" Sanam asked.
"Then let them." Aahil said.
"Flirting with me?!" Sanam exclaimed.
Aahil rolled his eyes and turned her around towards him. "What flirting,Sanam?" Aahil said. "We're married now. This is ishq wala love."
"Well...enough romance," Sanam said. "Remember, we have taska today. The first wish."
"Trust me. I haven't forgotten." Aahil smirked, showing a chit in his hand to Sanam.
"Good. I'll read mine first."
"Arrey! Why do you go first?!"
"Because I'm a girl! Ladies first!"
"Fine...go ahead."
Sanam opened the small chit and began to read out loud, "My first wish...that my lover would sing a romantic Hindi film song for me."
Aahil's eyes beamed. "Romantic Hindi song?!" Aahil said.
"Yes!"
"One...I don't sing. And two, I'm not a fan of romance songs."
"Too bad! Whatever the wish is...you have to do it! Otherwise, how do I know your love is true or not!"
"Well then, let's see how you like my wish then."
"Fine, read yours."
Aahil opened his chit and read out loud, "My first wish...is that my lover will wear a Western dress for me." Sanam looked at Aahil surprised. "You mean...dress! As in, like what girls wear to clubs?!" Sanam exclaimed.
"Western dresses aren't just worn to clubs!"
"But-"
"Hey! You said so yourself! You have to fulfill the wish! Let's see...if you can."
"Same to you."
And with that, Aahil and Sanam walked past each other.
In the evening, no one was in the house except Aahil and Sanam. Latif had gone out to the marketplace and Rehan was catering at a wedding with Asma. Aahil sat in the living room, thinking. "How can I sing?! That too a Hindi song?!" Aahil exclaimed. "There's no way!"
Just then, Aahil's eyes took a glance and his face froze in surprise at what he saw. It was Sanam, who came down the stairs...dressed in a black gown dress. The dress wasn't too short, it went down a little below her knees. She wore black strapped heel shoes to match as well. Her hair was swept to the side. The dress was spaghetti strapped and the straps had black beads strung on them. Aahil stood up from the couch, mesmerized by Sanam's beauty in the stunning dress. She came up to him, trying not to be shy. He smiled, seeing how gorgeous she was looking in Western clothes. "I fulfilled your wish," Sanam said. "So now you know...how much I feel for you."
Aahil was stunned by Sanam's words. With that, Sanam left upstairs. Aahil tried to stop her but she left. She must have heard me. And she still fulfilled the wish, Aahil said to himself. He turned towards his guitar that was by the couch.
Upstairs, Sanam was in the bedroom. She sat down and was trying to take her shoes off. Just then, she heard the sound of a guitar playing with some background music. She looked around the room, trying to figure out who it was. She turned and was stunned to see it was Aahil, who was dressed in a white shirt, blue jeans, black jacket, and playing the guitar. He then started singing "Tujhe dekha toh yeh jaane Sanam. Pyaar hota hai deewana Sanam."
Sanam smiled, seeing Aahil sing her favorite romance song for him. As he continued to sing, he came up to her, getting on his knees as she still sat down. "Ab yahan se kahan jaaye hum. Teri baho main maare jaaye hum." Aahil finished off singing. And just then, Sanam hugged Aahil tightly with Aahil hugging her back. She smiled and whispered in his ear, "Thank you."
