Avatar/Signature rules:
India-forums has got many great talents and their creations tempt us to adorn our signature boxes. And with many new TV shows , TV couples and new hot hunks, our addictions increase and we just want to fill our signature dabba with our latest obsession.
But it has come to the attention of I-F Development Team that many members are using more than 3-4 signatures and some of those signatures are way too large in size.
Furthermore, we've also noted some stacking many signatures into one big signature and use it. We also have come across wallpapers as signature. By using wallpapers over the size limit, the page orientation gets messed up, hence we wish to implement and reinforce rules.
We want every members to take a look at the following new rules and abide by it:
1)The maximum size of a signature is 550 pixels (width) x 500 pixels (height).
2)Each member is allowed to keep a maximum of 3 large (550pixels x 500 pixels) signature and another small signature.
3)The maximum size of avatar is 100 pixels (width) x 450 pixels (height).
4)Members are NOT to stack a number of signatures into one big sigature and use that as a signature;
Since it appears to be a misconception with regards to the word ''merging'' and "morphing" here. Any morphing OR merging faces of celebrities onto existing (original) pictures from other sources are STRICTLY prohibited on India-forums.com. It highly violates the copyrights of the original picture and such activity will not be tolerated! If anyone is seen to engage in such activity will receive raise in W/L without any further question. Furthermore, those morphed creations will be removed from the posts, immediately once it comes into the development team''s attention.
However, ''merging'' of two different pictures together to make a signature, which is a common practice in signature making (i.e. fusing together several INDIVIDUAL pictures without altering the original content). Hence, if a member is seen to make signatures by merging individual pictures of characters from two different shows (which once again differ from morphing), it in no way breaches with the rules of the IF, as it is an individual voice of an artist!
We would also like to mention any scenes from the show can be used but if those scenes contains any inappropriate/insulting text, it will be taken down by the DT and members using such creations will be face severity from the Dev Team! It applies to EVERYONE!
Fan Fiction - Adult contents:
This topic has been extremely controversial at this forum for both the writers and the Dev Team members. Due to the increased problems the DT has to face regarding the mention of rape in FFs, here is a short explanation as to what's permitted and what is not.
Underage Molestation -> NO!
If it's mere background information of a character and you mention it briefly through a conversation or the character describing himself/herself, that's alright. If the rape scene is described AT ALL, the content will HAVE to be edited out immediately if brought to the attention of the Dev Team. If the content is NOT edited out and the author REFUSES to, the DT will be forced to edit out the content and lock the FF thread entirely.
Why? Because child molestation is illegal and such content breaks the law of several countries.
Rape In General/Sexual Scenes -> NO!
You have NO reason to describe a rape scene AT ALL. Or a sexual scene. The DevTeam understands that sometimes, such scenes are essential for the progress of the storyline. The DT does not want to restrict the creativity of the members but even creativity has limits for an open forum in a family-friendly site. After all, this is the internet and you always need to be careful of what you post here. Hence, you can post such scenes BUT in an extremely SUBTLE way. If the scene is described graphically with body parts described and named along with explanation of what's going on between the characters at that moment, you'll be warned and the content will need to be removed. Some members even use dirty talk between the characters while describing such scenes. That is also an absolute no. Use of derogatory languageis already not permitted, dirty talk is out of the question. If you're unsure about what dirty talk is exactly, PM me or google the definition.
Kissing Scenes-> YES!
There have been a lot of questions regarding kissing scenes in stories. Our answer to those questions is, Yes. You can include kissing scenes for exactly two reasons, Tellywood no longer feels ashamed to depict kissing scenes in their shows so it's alright and two, it's safe ... so you don't have to worry about your young readers.
Using The 18+/Mature Content Label -> NO!
Just don't post mature content on the forum and you won't need the warning. As is it, there is no guarantee that younger aged readers will stop reading upon viewing your warning therefore, it's not efficient. Don't post graphic content, don't use the warnings.
Describing The Rape Scene In A Good Light -> NO!
Although this constantly brings me back to 'don't post graphic content' over and over again, it won't be enough if i said a thousand times anyway. If you describe rape in a good light or encourage it, you will be issued a warning immediately -PUBLICLY, in your FF thread.
Posting Blog Links -> NO!
This is another issue we've had. After asking members to remove the graphic content from their FF, they resort to posting the link to their blogs in their FF thread. Promoting your blog in your FF thread is NOT ALLOWED. Do not do that. If you want to PM the link, post it in other forums, that's your call. But DON'T post it in your FF threads. Do not place the link in your sig boxes either.
