First of all apologies this is going to be a long update. Part 3 is very long and so please treat yourself to some coffee etc.
Before I post part 3, a quick recap for those of you who requested a recap 😳
Quick recap:
In part 1 on a dark stormy night Zoya has preoccupied herself in the blackout by writing her feelings about a distant memory she wants to forget. This memory revolves around her and Asad and the result of that memory now lives in her as she is 3 months pregnant. Everyone assumes she has gone back to New York but in the dark of the stormy night her quiet nights have been disturbed as a familiar face appears on her doorstep bringing forth with it bitter-sweet and painful memories of the forgotten night.
Part 2 deals with the first part of the flashback with details of Asad and Zoya's bhaang-induced stupor and resulting consummation albeit beautiful in every aspect moment between the two but the following day Asad's temper and guilt take a hold on his perception (distorted perception might I add) of the whole thing and he places the entire blame on Zoya referring to her as a gold-digger and characterless woman.
He leaves her stranded at the farmhouse to attend a court case against his father. Zoya now completely broken and shattered makes her own way home but meets with a bus accident and Asad who reaches the scene fails to acknowledge her presence, runs past her to console Tanveer.
Witnessing their embrace, Zoya leaves for New York after informing Phoophi. Asad locates Zoya's iPad at the scene of the accident and goes searching for her but returns home at midnight to be informed by his mother that Zoya is asleep and she is hurt from the bus accident. Asad checks up on a sleeping and bandaged Zoya but once he returns to his room he tells himself that he will sort this out in the morning and everything will be normal once more. He isn't ready to surrender to his feelings. Zoya is busy packing in her room till early morning fighting her own demons but her decision is final on seeing the picture-perfect family in the living area.
The next part (part 3) will be uploaded shortly and that deals with Asad's turmoil and finalises the flashback through to part where Asad and Zoya are now face to face 3 months later.
