This is just so brilliant, so effing brilliant!!! I read both the stories, and they are just... beautiful!! Tu itna achha likhti hai ki bolne ke liye mujhe shabd dhoondne padte hain. The first one, left me rather sad... There's this predominant feeling of anxiety, hopelessness, and angst.

I actually read the original O Henry story too 😃 and, well, now I know why he is known as the best short story writer _/\_ Really, he is a legend.

The feeling Asad got, that he could hear Zoya's voice, singing... and then with his hope getting shattered, the voice disappeared too... This part was just so beautifully written Sads!!! Man, I sooo love you even more now 😃

If you hadn't written the part with the alternate ending, main tujhe maar lagati mereko aajke din upset karne ke liye. But since you wrote the happy ending, ye le jhappiiee 🤗 aur pappi bhi :* :* I sooo loved this!!!

So the original story was about a young man who searches for his lost love around the filthy bed-sheets of New York.

Your story remained just the same in the words of yours.

Now that I read the alternate ending, am sad to say I loved the former more than the later in terms of a complete short story.

But as a fan-fiction, the latter ending was much more appropriate as that shows your creativity as a fan-fiction writer. 👏 👏

For someone who reads this story for the first time, the tone it was written was enough for the reader to realize about the Anxiety and the Restless was constant to the both Isolation & loneliness of living alone an individual in a big city. 😊

Back to the theme of both the ending was that the lovely part of the story was that it clearly depicts the struggles and uncertainties that young people face, in search of self and identity, which was the main theme of the original story. 👏

Like we suggested you last night to write an alternate ending here we get a better picture in the second ending showing that sometimes victory is really near than we think we are to. 😊

"The Furnished Room," maintained with its ghostly fragrance throughout, making me feel so proud of you as an author cause you have done justice to both, the legend O Henry and Your Readers. 👏
