I agree that Walima is just a Dawat from the Groom's side after nikah but according to Islam Walima is believed to be haram if the newly married couple hasn't consummated their marriage.
But it's definitely not like how the CV's are picturing it! I have never witnessed someone having their Walima after 2 weeks of their marriage and consummating their marriage only when they like to.
In reality, along with the nikah dates, the date for Walima also gets fixed by the families and in that span of time between the nikah and Walima, the new couple have to consummate their marriage because it's a Sunnah.
I too request them to stop abusing Islam by showing it in the wrong way.
Saying Allah's name in the bathroom is being disrespectful.!
