I'm finally here. I would to thank everyone for giving your valuable input and suggestions for the betterment of the forum. I had gone through all the pages and noted that my co-DTs have replied to most of the issues raised. Firstly we were not obliged to make this thread however we decided to open this thread in the forum based on good will basis to get to know the issues the members are facing and to get their input and feedback from our forum which will help us to improve the forum. So i would appreciate if the issues raised could be done in a subtle way instead of sounding rude or demanding as we are all here for the same cause which is to improve for the betterment of the forum. And also i came across a post stating that there is inconsistency in our DT team and decision making. Let me clear that any decision taking is not solely by the individual DT but its taken as a team. A lot of things goes behind the screen and what you see is only one DT addressing the issue at one time but its a collaborative decision taken by everyone. If you shall have your concern regarding it, you shall PM the DT concerned or our CM.
From the issues raised, the ones that i shall highlight is:
Personal/Offscreen Discussion - Every show gets a forum whereby the main purpose is to discuss about the show, casts and the characters. Its often noted that the personal discussion of KaJen turns ugly and leads to bashing. In fact we had not allowed KaJen topics and i myself have closed many of it since Jennifer is not related to the show and forum. I believe the only time a KaJen topic was left open was during Valentines Day as there was even an interview of RaQesh on Valentine's Day. So if we were to close KaJen related topics, we should not be allowing RaQesh & Riddhi topics too and not to forget, discussion of personal life actors like of Vikrant, Mohit and more. The DT shall weight all possibilities and come out with a rule regarding this issue soonest.
Moving FF/OS - Regarding this.. YES! I had opened a topic asking everyone's suggestion and feedback regarding moving the FF/OS which had crossed 15 pages to the Fan Fiction forum and based on the feedback received, we had decided to allow it in this forum. What -RD- had mentioned regarding the moving as there shall soon be a rule forumwide which shall apply for all the forums whereby any FF/OS that crosses 15 pages to be moved to the Fan Fiction forum. However when that rule comes in place, i believe a GA announcement would be made regarding that and till that happens, the FF/OS shall remain in this forum. Hope this clarifies.
Bashing/Topic Closed/MID - Here comes the popular point. Some members have pointed out regarding a particular member returning with MID and instigating. I however have a question to everyone and i had always mentioned this in my closing note too. If you know that its a MID, the purpose is to instigate, why do you respond to the member? If the member is instigating, why do you end up getting instigated? Trust me when i say this, only if member choose to ignore post which they feel is offensive and report it for us to take action and not respond to such post, half of the fighting and bashings will be resolved. And regarding a topic getting closed. When a topic is opened, it may be regarding issue 'A'. But due to the amount of fights and bashing that takes place in that thread, the whole topic have totally deviated from the original topic ending up with issue 'Z'. When the topic itself have moved away from the original discussion, what else is left to discuss for the topic to be discussed? And how many posts are the DTs going to sit and delete to ensure the topic is back to the original discussion topic? The DTs don't take action or close a topic right away just because its reported. We weight over the post and severity of the comments made before making a decision on it. That is why i had always stressed that prevention is better than cure.
I had also seen some suggestions which is good idea and it shall be passed on to the Technical Side. I guess that is all from my side for now and shall add on more points if needed and will surely consider all the suggestions made.
Regards,
Visha
