Chapter Seven

"Zoya, come with me," Moeez says as he pulls her off the dance floor and hand her rings back and guides her out the hall

"Moeezy, everything okay? I am sorry for leaving your side" zoya said in one breath

"Zoya, I just want to make sure you are okay right, okay promise me you won't leave my side, not even for a minute, and trust me your friends are awesome, they make me feel welcome and loved so its not that just please stay with me" said moeez in a soft but firm tone

"Kiya hua hai,(what happened) look you seem worried, and you suck at hiding stuff from me so tell me" Zoya questioned

"Dw, its nothing, I just want my ugly to be happy with the people that love her" Moeez said pulling her into a hug.

"I am no ugly. You are ugly. I promise I won't react if you tell me whats bothering you." Zoya said hugging him back,

"I saw your Akru Ahmed Khan drink, and he was talking to someone about that if hes not happy he will make sure no one else is. I don't know if he said that mocking me or if he was rethinking what I said or if he is upset, but all I know is that hes drunk and a drunk man might say what the heart feels but a drunk man is also much more dangerous because he doesn't know what he is doing" Moeez began ranting

"Shhh, don't worry, you are here na and he won't do anything to me, plus u know I can fight," Zoya tried to assure Moeez but she knew she wasn't successful, Zoya felt the need to talk to Asad. "meri ek wish puri karo gaye? Please I promise I won't ask you for anything ever again"

"No Zoii, it's a horrible idea," Moeez said as he already knew what his crazy besti was about to say

"nothings gonna happen please, I know him, he won't hurt me, he can't hurt me, I love him so much that I know he doesn't mean to hurt me" Zoya tried to reason with moeez

"You sound stupid, Zoya we know You love him, but that doesn't mean he won't hurt you. People only get hurt by people that matter to them and people that love them. But okay fine. But I will be watching you guys, and if I feel somethings wrong I will take you away and then don't argue with me" Moeez said with a forceful smile

"I Love you, You are the best" Zoya screamed flinging her arms around her bestfriend literally jumping on him pushing him back, just like how happy a little kid is to see his fav toy. Only to see Asad's red puffy eyes glaring at her, showing disgust, hurt and anger. "I see him behind us, I am going to walk to the balcony, walk the other way so he can come talk to me." With that zoya left and turned around to walk to the balcony.

Zoya's POV

This looks so perfect, a full moon, a balcony, just like a fairy tale, except he was missing, my price charming. I wish I came to prom with him. Yea we said we are friends now but we are still awkward with each other, we didn't talk after that day. I felt tears roll down from my eyes

I felt someone cover my eyes. It wasn't a girls hand for sure, which of my guy friends would do that, hmm it can't anyone but Moeezy. Shit did he see me cry!

"Moeezy, " I whispered only to be turned around to face someone else. It was HIM. It was Asad!

"Moeez is all you can think about now?" he said holding my arms tight. His eyes were red, super red, filled with anger and watery like he is going to cry.

"You are hurting me," I said hoping he doesn't let go but only softens his grip

"What about when you hurt me, what about the pain I am feeling" he said as he let go and walked two steps back. "you really love moeez don't you? You always have loved him, then why the drama of telling people you love me, why being shy around me, why blushing when I said your name, you love him GOD DAMN IT"

"he is my bestfriend. And I do love him just like how people love their bestfriends, how you love tanu" Zoya said as she was so shocked.

"I don't love Tanveer, and the way you are around with him that's not how u are with anyone else. No one else can hug you, but you hug him, I am your friend now, why don't u hug me, why don't u hold my arm, why don't you smile like that when we talk, why is he different." Asad said as he fisted his arms as he was about to hit something.

"trust me, I have known him since we were kids, hes my oldest friend, he knows me like no one else, we are almost like family, why are you comparing urself to him. You both mean a lot to me, both mean different things." Zoya said holding back her tears, "I don't love him the way I love you, but you won't understand."

"You love me right then prove it," Asad said as he put his arm around her waist and pulled her against his chest, "look at me Zoya," as one of his arms was firmly around her waist and the other creasing her cheek "Kiss me"

"You are drunk," Zoya said as tears rolled down "I never thought you'd think this. Yeah I love you, and I don't have to prove my love," she buried her head in his chest and started crying.

"I don't know Zoya, this is wrong, I like you but today is prom, You are going to a different uni, I am going to a different university, I am going to a different city, we are young now, no promising future, all I know is that I can't see you with anyone, today we like each other what if after 4 years when university ends and I like someone else or you like someone else. Or we are totally different then what?"

"that's not going to happen," zoya said hoping to cease the moment

"I can't do this zoya, I just can't" asad said as he let her go and walked two steps back. "It wouldn't be fair if I tell you to wait for me, I hope you have an amazing future ahead" and with that Asad walked out and away .
