To Zee, to the Production House, To Gul and whomsoever this concerns, to those who want the best for the future of Qubool Hai
Well what can I say ...
I have never seen an Indian soap in my life before Qubool Hai. In fact I did not even watch Qubool Hai when it first started, time constraints and my studies always came first. But then earlier this year around May 2013 in the midst of my exams ... that is when I first started watching Qubool Hai, my sister introduced me to the show and I immediately fell in love with the serial so much to the effect that I made it a point to catch up with all of the episodes starting from episode 1, and in short matter of time I was up to date with all the episodes, and that is how dedicated I was at watching Qubool Hai right up until this news broke out, that has sadden a lot of viewers. I did not have to put myself through the laborious effort to catch up while my exams were pending but I chose to because the story line appealed, it was unique, it was fresh, its origincal cast was magical to me and above all Karan Singh Grover, his perfect characterisation of Asad Ahmed Khan drew me in.
Karan Singh Grover is perfection personified, he is the epitome of compassion and he made the character of Asad what it is which no other can ever portray as you have done with such finesse. We as an audience fell in love with Karan Singh Grover as Asad Ahmed Khan and any other actor portraying his character cannot be accepted. We will miss AsYa and KaBhi. AsYa is incomplete without Karan Singh Grover as Asad.
Karan Singh Grover's chemistry with Surbhi onscreen as Asad/Mr Khan and Zoya/Miss Farooqui and offscreen as Chintu and Bunty appealed to me so much, they made me laugh, they made me cry, they made me feel so attached to Qubool Hai, and this .. coming from me was weird because like I said I don't ever watch Indian soaps or any soap for that matter. And its not just his chemistry with Surbhi, is was Karan's interaction with the entire cast/crew including all those behind the camera that blew me away.
It was perfect, it was real and it was believable. Karan Singh Grover was a name I did not even know before this soap, or any of the actors for that matter, it was his perfect portrayal that brought to life the character of Asad Ahmed Khan for me and for the millions of viewers who watch this soap as avidly as I did. And it was through this I came to know of the many television actors in the industry.
Now I feel this void at 8.30pm everyday when I switch on the tv to watch Qubool Hai ... although my life is still hectic there is a void that now exists with the untimely departure of Karan from Qubool Hai.
In fact I know I will be cringing every time the mitwa music score plays when a different actor essays the role of Asad. I think if that is the case then the mitwa background score should no longer be used if Karan Singh Grover is no longer Asad, it is not proper.
Every time I saw the behind the scenes footage I saw how dedicated and professional Karan Singh Grover was to his role as Asad Ahmed Khan and to his co-workers and the entire team. He worked in the sweletering heats of Ajmer, he worked through the times he was ill and he put his painstaking hard work into his role.
We will all miss Karan Singh Grover as Asad Ahmed Khan so much that even words cannot express how much. For us Karan is Asad Ahmed Khan, he was and will always be perfection personified, he was the epitome of compassion and he made the character of Asad what it is which no other can ever portray as Karan has done with such finesse. We will all miss AsYa and KaBhi. AsYa for us is incomplete without Karan and to that effect the show will always be incomplete without Karan Singh Grover as Asad Ahmed Khan.
Its only been a few days and there is havoc on various forums and google+ and social network sites, all who eagerly want Karan Singh Grover back as Asad. I keep thinking that next week when I switch on the TV to see Qubool Hai at 8.30pm in the UK, I pray hope that when Zoya mentions Mr Khan that Karan will appear on screen. I pray that this is so.
I also feel it is unethical and unporfessional for the channel to defame him or any actor for his conduct when he is known for putting his effort, his heart and sole into his character. It would be a dream for the viewers, the best New Year's Gift if Karan Singh Grover continues portraying the role of Asad Ahmed Khan for the remainder of the episodes, to see him right through to the end of Qubool Hai.
I think that the channel and the production house should strive to get him back and also strive to complete all the tracks that have been left open in the serial and give Qubool Hai the proper closure it requires and the closure is only acceptable if Karan Singh Grover is in the show right through till the end. The proper closure which can only be truly achieved with Karan Singh Grover as Asad Ahmed Khan and also in my humble opinion the return of Ayaan either as Risabh or Vikrant is needed for the show.
Replacements of one half of a loved jodi of AsYa will not work and it does not sit well with the viewers, it will leave a bitter taste, it is undigestable. As a viewer I came to love the the layered and complicated character of Asad with Karan Singh Grover as the actor and I adore AsYa with Karan and Surbhi Jyoti only. I will not accept another actor in this role so I'm no longer a viewer until he is back in Qubool Hai.
You can add all the tracks that you want and all the extra characters that you want but Qubool Hai will never be the same without Karan Singh Grover. We all want to start the New Year on a positive note and for us that will be with the return of Karan Singh Grover as Asad Ahmed Khan. And never say never because it is not impossible. It is very achievable to get Karan Singh Grover back.
New Year is the time to rectify mistakes, forgiveness is a part of this and I want this New Year to start on a positive note, with Karan Singh Grover as Asad, the team and the channel need to re-conciliate with Karan Singh Grover and get him back on the show.
Nothing has been lost just yet, there is still time to bring Karan Singh Grover back, because I essentially believe that things can be settled amicably and civilly and I want to see Karan Singh Grover as Asad Ahmed Khan and I know millions of viewers will agree with me.
Otherwise all will be at loss as many will be tuning out of Qubool Hai. Give Qubool Hai the proper closure it requires with Karan Singh Grover portraying the role impeccably as he has always done as Asad Ahmed Khan.
Yes when the show does finish and as long as Karan is in QH right through to the end, yes viewers would be sad at the ending of a show but not heartbroken if someone else takes his place and in doing so no closure could ever be appropriate or befitting.
It is also my humble request that all the episodes of Qubool Hai that are on youtube should be made available for viewing in all countries for everyone who wishes to relive the memories of previous episodes and eventually a DVD should be released too.
On a final note bring Karan Singh Grover back as Asad Ahmed Khan, I can reiterate that as many times as needed and always remember you maybe the ones who write, produce and air the show but it is us the viewers who need to approve of the show and we are the viewership that provide the ratings that ensure the continued broadcasting of the show, which will only be maintained or further increased with the return of Karan Singh Grover as Asad Ahmed Khan.
