Asad is so sweet to let Zoya work. Wen he was not agreeing initially most probably pretending to not agree, I was waiting to brand him as MCP but he proved me wrong. Wen he teln her to stay @ home n do work of cleaning d mess she is creating I was like is he marrying a naukrani or wat? But wen he agreed for her to work teln her he vl always be wid her I was very much relieved. Atlast, d main issue is sorted out regarding working of a woman after marriage. Asad has changed very much in thinking since Zoya came into his life, d type of girl who he hated so much.

In SM, Zoya was not even allowed to wear jeans let alone thinking of work. Wen Haseena n co. came to see Nikhat for d 1st time, Rashid said 'Humaari gharelu ladki hai. Jis ghar me jaayegi uss ghar ko khushiyon se bhar degi'. Dis clearly shows dat women in dat house r not allowed to work. Wat abt Zoya? A soon to be working woman. Is she not khushiyon se bharing any ghar be it her aapi-jiju's house or KV? If Zoya had talked to SM ppl abt doing job then she would hv been promptly refused by them wid lectures like 'Humaari ghar ki bahu-betiyaan naukri nahi karti hai', 'Achhi bahuen ghar sambhalti hai', blah blah blah. SM ppl wud hv cursed Zoya for even thinking of working.

Coming to QM, Haseena wanted Nikhat to stop going college even much before she was abt to get married to Imraan. Shirin said dat girls of their house go to college but Haseena retorted dat but daughter-in-laws in laws of their house does not adding dat if Nikhat goes to college her complexion vl get more darker. Haseena clearly said dat she don't Nikhat to work n she wants to keep her home. She said d same to Asad regarding Najma dat she sud complete her studies fast n she wants to keep Najma home. Asad told her dat Najma vl continue her studies. Haseena agreed but Najma is not going to colleges now n none even Imraan, Asad, Dilshad n Zoya seemed to bother abt it. I think dat one of d main reasons dat Haseena does not want their daughter-in-laws to work is dat if in future they face trouble wid their husbands n in-laws, they don't run away d house to stand on their own by getn job. Haseena wants to disarm them so they do not escape. Haseena wants them to be trapped forever.

How vl SM n QM people react wen they get to know dat Zoya is allowed by Asad n Dilshad to work after marriage along wid wearing jeans? Wat vl be their reactions? Will they brand d KV people as a bad example for d society?

You know the biggest problem about it - you used the word "let". Zoya shouldn't need permission to work. Asad is not the boss of her. The writing reeks of chauvinism.

Side note: I am surprised someone as immature as zoya who has been content with spending asads money for months suddenly wants to work.

Sorry if u r offended but still in some serials men r not happy wid women working. I PV, v hv seen how d male head Suraj Pratap Sindhia was shown as MCP. His youngest DIL Paridhi was radio jockey butwen he got to know he stopped her 4m working. Her husband Pratik who loved her very much also did not supported her cuz talking against whther right or wrong was lukd as a sin. I don't think she was spending Asad's money all these time but I think she was spending her aapi n jiji's money or she may be hvng her side business which v don't know.

That's a problem with Indian tv then. I don't watch any other show.

As for zoya not spending asads money of course she is - she isn't paying any rent to stay at KV. Her food and boarding expenses are borne by Asad. Not just that what about water, electricity, Internet, cable etc. All paid for by Asad.

You are right I am extremely offended that tv serials think it's progressive for a woman to ask permission to work. It just reenforces the point that India is still very much a patriarchal and backward society if husband giving permission to their wives is something to be celebrated.

P.S - I get what you are trying to say, however it's sad that educated women like you and me have to appreciate a scene like this in 2013! You see what I mean...

All thru d convo, sumwhre I knew dat Asad is just pretending or he vl agree soon cuz after they gone thru so much n he does not agree for her to work then they vl be back to square one especially Asad. But Asad is changed very much n even more than Zoya. Cvs wants to show how a girl named Zoya changed a house. Till, in d eye of d idiotic society, SM n QM r lukd wid respect even wid them hvng so much daag on their daaman while KV is lukd down by those society branding Dilshad as a 'chhodi huvi aurat' along wid calling her names.

Now d time vl wen d wrong doings of SM n KV ppl vl come out in d society while KV vl be seen as a prestigious hose wid kind-hearted people. Wen SM n QM vl come to know abt Zoya working, some of them especially Gaffur n Haseena vl try to taunt Asad n Dilshad for letting a woman work dat also after marriage. They vl feel insecure n jealous seeing Zoya work.
