@Pri and Ranji: I get your point...but guys...Gul is not the President of India...or a person who needs to set a trend by example. ..nor is she Chris Nolan or Raju Hirani..QH and Gul are inconsequential in the scheme of the bigger picture. .it's entertainment. .take it as that...they are selling their product by tagging it as having a message. ..so it sounds cool and all...but it is a run of the mill drama with a good story and set of actors. ..no one loses sleep or takes lessons from QH..least of all the teenagers. .who are smarter than all of us put together. .they are making a big deal out of a mediocre drama, being so preposterous so as to call it a message. ..but I am sure we know better...that is all I am saying. ...

...i totally understand ur point girl...its not against zoya...its about WE WOMEN...i got it girl...prevention is better than cure at any time...at the same time we should not be cowards.,sit at home.,as rapes always do not happen in the streets...it starts at home too...we need to fight for justice...

Nobody is advocating women to sit at home. Just that we need to understand that independence and freedom come with responsibility.

I do agree with you tho :)

I'm missing all your posts these days.
I thought I was the only one who felt that way about Zoya and Farhan issue.
The guy's a creep alright but what was the need to give him your phone number? Thats asking for trouble.

And I'm not saying she was wrong to go there alone. But I think it was better if she'd called Asad and asked him to come pick her up. At that unearthly hour, if Rajveer hadn't come along, what would she have done?

But then Shruti, there are people who were talking about Muslim customs being portrayed wrong. So why not this? If you are going to handle a sensitive issue get it right to an extent at least.
And don't tell me there aren't people who imitate reel-life characters.

All shows are doing this now. And yesterday I happened to catch a scene from BALH. The girl encouraged the boy and yet when she was caught by her mom, she put all the blame on the guy. The guy was at fault too maybe, I didn't catch the whole thing. So there are two sides of anything. And we can't always put the blame on one.

great post.. 👏 here also we face these types of incidences... but i'll oppose u at one point, in my opinion they conveyed full msg, in the sense, that sumtymz girls intentionally go out n then suffer, as you said that we should have a reliable source for going n coming back.. being independent doesnt mean that u can do anything!! they conveyed the msg of taking care of urself is also ur responsibility...
otherwise great post 👏 i agree wd u 😳 👏

👏 👏 Great post and very well thought out. They had the sentiment right for the message but it is true as you pointed out that the message hasn't been carried through for full impact. Zoya was indeed reckless with her safety putting herself in such a position that she had no choice but to take a lift from a stranger.
When I watched the episode with my my mom she said, "She doesn't even know if he's a rapist and she gets into the car with him."

Good post Delena! 👍🏼

Of course we can't Neha...and I am not blaming Gul or the audience alone...

As far as portraying a religion or religious custom wrongly is concerned..that will always be debatable because cultures are different...and customs are more culturally diverse...Ekta shows many customs which are not a part of that religion...

There are people who imitate reel life and tv and internet and films...we cannot police them..in fact QH is lesser of a trouble for a teenager's parent...much worse lies out there and there is free access to all of it...what I mean to say is QH is too inconsequential to make a difference..positive or negative...when u have intelligent nuke scientists forgetting to put their brain to mouth filter on...QH cannot change that...

They are going way ahead of themselves when they say they are passing a message...😆...they are just selling their product
