😆 😆

I guess what I'm trying to say is that scenes like these blur the line between showing an independent, confident girl whom the viewers can take inspiration from and showing a protagonist that validates feelings of incompetence within the viewers.

She was wrong - she admitted it- she apologised to the extent of confessing TO HIM that she was scared...that is a big thing for a girl like Zoya...to be able to confess she was afraid...after that, there is no point in him going back to the same issue again.

(She took some time to apologise only because of Mr. Khan's seemingly authoritative tone- HE CROSSED A LINE THERE TOO- )

It was buried..she admitted her mistake-he said OK- apologised for HIS RUDE BEHAVIOUR- no point in him going back and dissecting it further...that was all I was saying.😊(I am not speaking for Zoya or Asad...they were both wrong in the way the situation was dealt-- Zoya more than Asad- that is WHY SHE APOLOGISED FIRST!)

Lol chicksoup I know you believe zoya is wrong. We are in complete agreement there - my question is why the cvs fail to present the complete message.

What's her problem? Why is she becoming so annoying? Someone hits on you, you can't help it but you can definitely help ensuring your way back home and avoiding the embarrassment at the first place. What's worse is her not accepting her fault.. I don't wanna support a cause when I feel the girl here is wrong hence even though the intention was good, the purpose fails to be served.

Well said! Exactly my sentiments.

Zoya as a character has been getting on my nerves a bit too much. She is being stupid, immature and very annoying! today I am shuddering to watch her sanctimoniously preach! 😕

By passing on an incomplete message, I just feel Gul and her team are doing more harm than good!

Point is it is not about obstructing ones freedom but its about choosing when to exert it. This is not about woman's rights it's about knowing how to asses a situation independently and responsibly. As I said a man would have been equally wrong had he done this because he too can get raped/mugged/kidnapped or worse.

@bold, this is when you have a choice to make but if situations are like I explained in my previous comment, where you have no choice to make then what one should do?
I have this question because, the very similar situation has happened to my dear friend 8 years back, she was raped and murdered. The poor girl had to step out of her house in the midnight to get the asthama inhaler for her grandmother, it wasn't a day of strike but the road was all empty as it is a near forest area, she was going to ask for help from her neighbor house which is almost half a kilometer away from her house and she became the victim of the idea- 'woman, a sexual object'- of many men across the world.
That's why I feel there is a need to send out a message to all men and specially to women-the potential mothers of all men- that respect woman as a human being and let her walk freely.

Edited: I think everybody seems to have forgotten that Zoya missed the only bus by which she reached the venue, so she was left alone on that road. Now that can happen with anyone if you have limited buses to your place and for your bad luck you miss the last bus. What should a woman do when such situations arise? Whatever precautions and safety measures we take it's all useless as long as we don't attempt to change the thought process of people.

Hi, I am replying on Delena's behalf as she is stuck on a bus right now... Sorry to hear about your friend. In your friend's case, yes the poor girl had no choice and she had to walk out at that time! Agree with you here;

It is all about the context. The writers are passing such a message after showing Zoya run out on a day of a strike to do what? Meet a celebrity? That is such a stupid premise. She was very stupid to have potentially endangered her safety! Zoya had a choice and if she had thought sensibly she could have chosen not to go. It is the writing that is at fault here as the CVs are making her seem very immature and stupid.

If your friend who had a valid reason to walk out at that time, and encounter such a sad situation, imagine what could have happened to Zoya as a result of this stupidity. A lot of young idolise this character and by not making Zoya realise her folly and accept that she was wrong, the CVs are passing an incomplete message that will cause more harm than good.

hey misst...i get ur point...thats not in our hands...i meann what and how we should we protect ourself re...oh god...i really feel bad after reading yours...but i feel if the law is strict and punishments are severe and immediate i feel this can be reduced...i mean to get justice the law needs a mass voice which is what happening in India...but still such things are happening silently in our country...

I very rarely judge a scene without watching it, however recent interviews and the precap for today's episode is prompting me to write this. It is admirable that Gul, Mrinal and co wanted to deliver a social message about the increasing number of rapes in our country. However, I believe while you have got part of the message right you have completely discounted a woman's responsibility for herself. And by this I mean Zoya's sheer stupidity in running off to see a celebrity who doesn't know or care about her, during a strike. It was incredibly immature. Let us even look past that - nothing stopped Zoya from calling her Mr. Khan before her battery died - requesting he pick her up, now did it? Zoya put herself in a situation where she was forced to ask a stranger to drop her home - a completely avoidable situation. Zoya was lucky she wasn't raped! Then you have her being totally oblivious to her own stupidity by excusing Rajveer's behavior and completely twisting Asad's concern towards her. Now, don't get me wrong, as a young woman I go out a lot too - whether it's out for a drink or a party - I do these things too, but that doesn't mean I don't make sure that I have a safe and reliable way to come home every time. We are all responsible for our own safety. All of us don't have a lover/husband running to come and save us every time we are in a sticky situation. Part of being an adult is about knowing the difference between being independent and being reckless. And Zoya was reckless. The complete message would have been you pointing out that NO definitely means NO and that you need learn to be responsible. With independence comes the need of being able to assess situations and priorities. Zoya showed a complete lack of understanding there. You definitely needed/need a scene where Zoya acknowledges how wrong her behavior was/is and understand that there could have been very severe consequences to it. No woman deserves to be raped but in our depraved society it is a reality - the judicial system and society doesn't sympathize with victims as evidenced by the juvenile being sentenced to a remand home for his heinous crime. So, we as women can at least ensure our own safety in whatever way we can. I don't mean stay at home. Go out, party, watch a movie whatever but always make sure you have a safe and secure way to come home. It's better to be safe than sorry.
