I think you're way out of line here, and I take serious offence to what you've written because it's plain disrespectful, and I can tell that I am one of the people, your comments are targeted at.
You have to remember that the writer is also a human. We all have personal circumstances and other commitments that take priority.
Where does dedication or determination fit into this?
I'd like to see you juggle uni, office work, family, friends, a boyfriend and still write a 5 000 word update every week. It's not feasible, because we all have some responsibilities in our personal lives as well.
We're not paid to write, we do it purely because it's something we enjoy and for our readers. You also need to respect that it is entirely the author's discretion whether they want to continue the story or not.
I think you'll find it very easy to judge people from the outside, but I'd really like to see you in their shoes.
Maybe you should start writing as well?
We'll see how often you come up with decent updates.
