Why I Want To Watch You Sleep? AsYa OS
After reading the spoiler from forum 32 this morning, I couldn't resist writing this short OS. Thanks RK (webuser7) for some of your ideas.
NEXT MORNING (AT THE BREAKFAST TABLE)- Imagine the scene as seen in the photo with Asad and Zoya only
Asad munched on his toast quietly as Zoya tried to initiate a conversation with him.
"Mr. Khan!"
"hmm?"
"I need to ask you something."
"Yes, Ms Farooqui. What's it about?"
"Aapki kal raat waali wish ke baare mein."
"Jee."
"Why did you want to watch me asleep all night? Isn't it kind of weird? Matlab main jaanti hoon aap emotionally challenged hain, lekin aisi wish maine aaj tak nahin suni."
"Aap jaan na chaahti hain?"
"Jee!"
"Nikaah se pehle main prepare hona chaahta hoon."
Zoya blushed a little, "matlab?"
"I am glad I watched how you sleep. Aaj hi Dr Pathak se appointment leta hoon."
"What?" She was confused and wondered what kind of doctor needed to be consulted before their wedding.
"He is the best ENT specialist in town. Aap snore bahut karti hain na. I want to make sure kahin aapke tonsils na badhe ho." He stared at his toast to hide a smirk on his face.
Zoya's jaw fell to her knees, "Mr. Khan! You are impossible! Aap bilkul pagal hain."
"And," he continued with a straight face, "I need to order a new bed also."
"New bed?"
"Yeah, aap raat bhar poore bed mein roll karti rehti hain. My bed won't be large enough. I don't want to end up on the floor in the middle of the night."
"Mr. Khan! You can't be serious, right?" She was aghast by his suggestions.
"Ms. Farooqui, yeh 1-2 din ki baat nahin hai. Poor zindagi ka sawaal hai. If I don't get good sleep at night, I can't go to work next morning. If we have a larger bed, you can roll around as much as you want."
"I don't believe it," she shook her head angrily.
"Haan, ek aur baat," he kept his coffee mug down and suppressed his smile, "I will need to get water proof pillow covers. Wo aaj ho order kar deta hoon main."
"Water proof pillow covers?"
"Haan, main dekh raha tha, aap drool bahut karti hain."
Zoya couldn't take it anymore. She threw the napkin from her lap and stood up to walk out.
Promptly, he followed her and grabbed her by the arm (see photo from forum 32)
"Please leave me Mr. Khan. I don't want to talk to you."
"Aap naaraaz ho gayi?" He teased her
"nahin, main bahut khush hoon," she taunted, "Mera nikaah ek aise insaan se hone jaa raha hai jo itna practical aur well planned hai. Kal aap kahenge ki main aapko nahaate waqt dekhna chaahta hoon to see aap paani kitna waste kart hain?"
Asad turned red at that comment. Zoya realized what she had blurted without thinking. Embarrassed, she ran away to her room.
A few minutes later, Asad knocked at her door and walked in.
She turned her back and shut her eyes. How could she face him after that last comment from her?
He was inches away from her. His warm breaths tickled her neck.
"Zoya, kal raat main so nahin paaya, jaanti hain kyun?" He asked in his soft, husky voice.
"Abhi tho poori list bataayi thi aapne." She opened her eyes and snapped back, trying her best to cover up for her faux pas.
"Aap ko dekh kar aisa lag raha tha koi pari so rahi hai. Aisi pari jise jitna dekho utni zyaada khubsoorat lagti hai. Aap jab sote sote muskura rahi thi, tho meri aankhien chaah rahi tha ki us pal ko main hamesha ki liye apne dil mein qaid kar loon. Koi sote waqt bhi itna khubsoorat, itna masoom, itna khush kaise kag sakta hai? Kya aap hamari zindagi ko hamesha aise hi khubsoorat, masoom aur khush rakhengi? Aaj tak tho aap hamesha mere sapno mein aakar meri neend chura le jaati thi lekin kal raat aap mere saamne thi aur phir bhi mujhey neend nahin aa rahi thi. Iska kya matlab samjhoon main Zoya?"
Her heart thumped against her chest; her breathing heavy as his words melted every cell in her body.
'Bolo Zoya," he whispered, "iska kya matlab samjhoon main?"
She turned around, wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in his chest, "main nahin jaanti."
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her. They stood silently with eyes closed, in the comfort and solace of each other's arms, ready to take the next step into their lifelong relationship as man and wife.
…the end…
