"Zoya, we are here" Asad sighed, as he parked the car, and waking up Zoya after an hour's drive.

She opened her eyes and rubbed it with her hands to clear the sleep out of her eyes. Phew finally here'She thought' what a bumpy ride was it' her head had kept banging on the window pane when she was lolling around in her sleep'and asad'well she will deal with him later..! thick head!

Asad came to her side of the door and held his hand for her to come out; she refused profusely, jumped out of the car and walked towards the door.

Allah! What's wrong with her!..he thought'as he followed her.

The house was small but serene; it had a white picket fence running around the house and the garden, where flowers in tiny pots bloomed...but being autumn there were merely any flowers there'yet the garden looked so beautiful with the colourful leaves around and a cute wrought iron swing that was placed under the tree'it was like a tiny cottage right out of some postcard.

Zoya loved the house and the calmness it brought her'she was adamant on ignoring asad and did not wish to speak to him'whilst asad just could not understand why zoya was behaving like an unruly child since they reached the mall! Well Mrs. Khan you get what you want'ignorance it is then.

The greetings were exchanged and everyone were talking about how they had been'jeeju and asad talked about business while, appi was enquiring zoya about her life and whether she is happy or not 'and zoya still ignoring asad looked at him from the corner of her eye'*that infuriating man! How do I tell appi , I don't want to talk about him! *

Just when zoya sneaked a look at him asad too turned around and caught her staring at him from the corner of her eye. He ignored her and went ahead with the conversation'

Let the tables turn Mrs. Khan'..he thought ignoring her looking at him'.

After they finished with the tea and snacks ' asad thought this was the right time to ask appi and jeeju about the thing zoya had said 'she was taking a quick nap in the guest bedroom. " God she loves sleeping, well good for me 'I can do what I had come here for.." he muttered to himself.

He quickly went over to appi and jeeju ans asked them' "Appi , jeeju I need a favour'help actually'"

"What help asad? Tell me we will be glad to help you?" jeeju spoke while appi stood behind jeeju near the arm of his chair.

"well it's about zoya, how do I say'umm it's like she says these lines often, you know actually whispered in my ears but I don't quite get it' "Drunk as drunk on turpentine 'uhhh'umm ' no!! forget it I asked ." too embarrassed to continue further he flushed and stopped.

Jeeju was confused too'and was about to ask asad about what he just said.

Clueless, they were.

But then they saw appi shaking her shoulders in silent amusement at the pair of them'

She quietly gestured asad to be seated, went into another room and got out a book'

The book was a bit worn around the edges , but was still nice..It had a leather texture to it and held a classic look'

Appi opened a page and started reading, as the first few words left her lips , asad felt a rush of excitement go through him' finally the answer to what he was searching was here.. right in front of him'the lines that zoya whispered were from this very book'a collection of poetry's from different poet's 'appi also explained how zoya loved reading this book , the book was a gift from her jeeju to her appi on their anniversary . Asad wondered about this new revelation about his wife, so Mrs. zoya khan you do have knowledge about real poetry apart from your shayari's !!

The rush that he felt quickly turned to embarrassment as the poem was a bit racy'he knew he had to stop it right there..

Thanking appi and jeeju for the help'he called his assistant and told him to order a similar book and courier it home.

He quickly woke zoya up, they finished with their goodbyes and headed home'zoya still being mad at him did not even turn to look at him while he drove home'.

"are you even going to look at me?" asad asked. As he was parking their car outside the mansion.

"Why in the world, would I? Don't you have enough women looking at you? Or rather I should say drooling at you?

"zoya'." He sighed

"DON'T! ZOYA ME'" she yelled.

she got out of the car and stomped towards the door '

She is something, snarky maybe, spitfire definitely!! He thought and smiled at the retreating figure of his furious wife into the house

they do, but that is what keeps them going! their mini fights and disagreements are the spark they need followed by making up for it 😉 just a little hint! the best is yet to come!!! 😃
