Chapter 13
Asad made his way out and immediately his gaze shifted towards her closed door. Dilshad came to him and said:
"She isn't awake yet! Slept late I guess!"
He noticed Dilshad's teasing look and swiftly went to the table.
"Asad when are you free today?"
"Ammi I have a tight schedule! Kuch kaam tha?"
"Haan! You and Zoya have to go for choosing your wedding card!"
Asad sighed.
"Ammi, you people can do it. Anyways I don't have any knowledge..."
"Asad it's your wedding! And it happens only once in your life! I dunno anything. You and Zoya are going!"
"Going where Phoophi?"
Zoya entered, still in her night wear. Her hair was messed up andeyes still sleepy. Asad found himself lost in her beauty. As her eyes fell upon him, a blush rose to her cheeks. He smiled.
"I was just telling Asad that you two have to go to select your wedding card!"
"Oh okay!"
Zoya looked down.
"Ammi I am not..."
"No more arguments Asad. Zoya did you tell your Appi and Jeeju?"
"Yes I told them! They will come over in two days!"
"What did they say?"
"They were umm... very happy."
Dilshad smiled in contentment. Asad cleared his throat.
"Miss Farooqui..when do you want to go?"
"Me? I will..."
"I have an important meeting till 10. So I will come pick you up after that."
"It's okay. I will see your in your office."
"I will pick..."
"MrKhan I am not a kid. Please..."
With that, Zoya went back to her room. So the conversation was over. Asad let out a heavy breath and murmured:
"Actually I am the kid. I have no say here...over anybody in this house!"
Dilshad laughed amused. Asad got up and left.

It was already ten five and Asad called Zoya on her phone. But she didn't pick up. He paced in his cabin, worried why she wasn't there yet. Fuve minutes passed and still no sign of her. He grabbed his car keys and opened the door. But right then, he saw her coming and he went back to his chair and opened a file. He shook his head behind the file as she dashed inside in a minute. No knocking.
"Hello MrKhan!"
He put the file down slowly and acknowledged her with a smile. Now, he would always find him smiling around her. Hard to resist. He cleared his throat.
"Ready to go?"
"Yup!"
They made way out. She told him about the traffic problem. He just listened. His employees stared as she straightened his tie. She was totally unaware of others but he had a hard time stopping his lips from curving up. He avoided the teasing glances thrown in their direction. Now his crazy family wasn't enough, he had to deal with this too.
In the wedding card shop, he just nodded along as she went on analysing endless number of cards.
"MrKhan is it perfect?"
"Yes."
"How can you say that? This colour is not good at all."
"Is it Miss Farooqui? Oh yeah."
"Yeah what?"
"Yeah I mean...you are right. So are we done?"
His brains shouted "wrong question" as she glared at him.
"You know what MrKhan? You see and choose now. I won't do anything."
"Miss Farooqui I like your choice."
"Really?"
"Jee."
"I want to go by your choice Mr khan. Come on we don't have time to waste."
Asad sighed and started looking through the cards. Finally after an hour, they found a card they both liked and came out. He wad tired beyond measure now. This was so frustrating. Now time for lunch. She ordered pizza and he settled for rice.
"You know what MrKhan, after our nikah we will get colourful sheets in our room. Your room looks so lifeless now."
He stared at her in shock. The image of him staying in a colourful room...no way. He won't let it happen.
"Miss Farooqui concentrate on your pizza."
The alarm bells on his head were still ringing. He won't let that happen. He would have to find some way to stop his room...his own room from getting spoiled.
After lunch, Asad dropped her at home and went back to his office. It was surely a crazy...date? He shook his head and concentrated on his work.

Two Days Later:
Najma was studying up in her room. Dilshad was visiting a relative with Zoya. And Asad was working on a project inthe living room. The silence of the house was broken by the doorbell. Asad got up to open the door. Appi, Jeeju and four youngsters, three guys and a girl he didn't recognise stood at the door. Asd greeted them and ushered them inside. He called Najma down and explained:
"Actually Ammi and Miss Farooqui went out. They would be here soon."
The guests smirked at 'Miss Farooqui'. One of the guys spoke up:
"Ah I see! Miss Farooqui and MrKhan, huh?"
Jeeju laughed and made the introductions.
"Asad..They are Will, Reehan, Peter and Asmara! They are Zoya's friends."
"And you are Asad Ahmed Khan.."
"aka Jahanpana Six Packs!"
Everyone laughed except Asad who wanted to get hold of Zoya and get her words back. Najma got snacks for all of them and Asad asked them about their flight.
Reehan: "I never thought that Zoya will settle down here!"
Will: "Oh love is blind!"
Peter: "Seriously dude...can you imagine Zoya dressed in a bridal attire?"
Reehan: "Blushing! I can't man!"
They burst out laughing.
Asmara: :Shut up guys! Looks likeAsad worked his magic on her! And it would be sooo pretty! I can't wait!"
Reehan: "To look pretty?"
Asmara: "Oh shut up!"
Will: "Well Asad...make sure she always stays happy."
Peter: "Yes...and make sure she never forgets us after getting tied down here!"
Asmara: "Guys come on! Asad don't mind their words. They are just being jealous because Zoya is not gonna be around 24*7 like before."
Asad: "It's okay. I would try to take her there whenever possible. You people are welcome too. And you don't need to worry about her. My Zoya is always safe with me."
Reehan: "Wow I like you dude!"
Right then, Zoya and Dilshad returned and she went maaad seeing her friends and Appi Jeeju back. Asad's heart swelled with love seeing her being loved so much. So she was always a pampered kid. He shook his head listening tothe craziness.
Zoya: "You people said you won't come."
Reehan: "It's called a surprise idiot."
Will: "You look pale."
Peter: "And skinny!"
Asmara: "Are you okay?"
Zoya: "I am perfectly fine. Stop treating me like a baby. Like one man isn't enough."
All her friends laughed at that. There came another hugging session.
"I missed you guys!"
"Oh yeah that's why we literally had to beg you everyday to get back, but you never did!"
"Shut up Reehan! You know I was busy..."
"Busy being in love!"
"Jesus!"
Appi: "Okay guys! Enough. Now let's leave."
Will: "Pack your bags idiot."
Asad: "Zoya?"
Zoya: "Me?"
Asmara: "Well guys sorry to burst your bubble but Zoya is staying with us inthe hotel till the nikah."
Asad: "But..."
Peter: "Sorry Asad. Anyways you are gonna have her forever."
Will: "We have the right to have our friend for ten days."
Asad was disappointed, but he understood where they came from and let her go. In two hours, Zoya had the necessary things packed with the help of her gang. While leaving Zoya hugged Dilshad and Najma. Then she went and stood before Asad. They both had tears in their eyes and hugged each other tightly. He wiped her tears and said:
"Miss Farooqui...next time when you come back to this house, you will be Mrs Asad Ahmed Khan!"
She hugged him again. Will wiped his imaginary tears and whispered:
"Dude I think am feeling bad!"
"I like the guy. He loves her."
"Yeah I checked his laptop. Full of their pics."
"Seriously you guys are nuts. Of course he loves her."
"We had to confirm idiot."
"Of course you needed more confirmation. Guys if she comes to know that you hacked into his laptop, she would surely kill you."
"You won't tell her. We trust you."
"Whatever."
After everyone left, the house felt dead. There was no noise. No Zoya. O ly her memories. Asad went to bed early and noticed a message from her.
"I miss you Mr Khan.
xZ"
He typed inhis reply immediately.
"I miss you too.
xA"
Immediately there was a reply.
"What are you doing?
xZ"
"I am trying to sleep. You?
xA"
"I am going crazy bcoz of this bunch of idiots sleeping beside me.
xZ"
It didn't bother Asad that she was sleeping with her friends. He trusted her over his life now.
"Miss Farooqui calling someone else an idiot doesn't suit you.
xA"
"That was epic Asad.
xWill"
"You are so mean Mr Khan. And yes you are the biggest idiot.
xZ"
"Miss Farooqui if you choose to be delusional, we can't help it.
xA"
"Shut up MrKhan. Good night. Don't talk to me.
xZ"
He grinned and didn't reply. Immediately he got another message.
"I love you MrKhan. Bye bye. And don't talk to me ever
xZ"
He still didn't reply and in a few seconds, he got her call. She shouted at the other end.
"What's wrong with you MrKhan? Why aren't you replying?"
"I can talk now Miss Farooqui?"
"Arghhh I hate you!"
"I love you too Zoya."
The softness in his voice...the love in it washed over her and she was left speechless, only with a dazzling smile kissing her lips.
"Sweet dreams MrKhan."
"You too Miss Farooqui."
"And I can't wait to get back home."
There were shouts of "blushing!blushing!" and he heard pillows being thrown in the background. Zoya yelled over the noise.
"I will talk to you later MrKhan! Let me kill these morons first!"
He shook his head and smiled as another message came on his phone.
"Let's all meet up tomorrow. Asmara thinks it's a sin tokeep lovebirds apart.
xPeter"
"Alright. I am free after four in the afternoon.
xAsad"
"Cool. So see you near the lake then? It seems like an interesting place as per Reehan.
xP"
"It is. Fine. Lake side at four thirty pm.
xA"
"Done.Good night. Sexxxy dreams of you future wife.
xWill"
He almost dropped his phone of embarrassment and then typed in a reply slowly.
"Good night."
"Hey it was a joke. Hope you didn't mind. These idiots are always like this.
xAsmara"
"No problem.
xAsad"
