Very well said, agree with you completely. This forum is saturated with religious discussions. People should realize that not every Muslim follows quran word by word just as every Hindu or Christian doesn't follow Bhagvadgita or Bible word by word and not every thing that doesn't match with religious code of conduct should be blown way out of proportion and made into an issue.

It's only this forum though that gets extremely psychotic over such little issues as who wore what. Why does everything on this forum have to turn into a religious debate about the quran says this thus Zoya should not be wearing this. The quran says this...Zoya is bad.
I cannot recall any instance where religion is brought up in any of the other forums be it when a girl wears short clothes or when a girl has a live in relationship.
How insecure are you in your religion that you have to bring it up every single time someone else is doing something you think is against your religion. Why do you have to take it upon yourself to make sure other people are doing what you think is right according to your religion? Has anybody ever heard of live and let live? Why must you crucify other muslim's for doing something you think is wrong. You do what you want, let others do what they want.
I am not a Muslim and neither am I religious...but why do things not turn into a heated debate about hinduism everytime I wear a skirt, or shorts, or sleeveless tops, or revealing outfits? Really. Never happened. Someone may say that maybe that's a bit too short, but no one brings up Bhagvan Krishna and how he wouldn't approve of my clothing.
All this clothes business...giving you guys a bad rep.

Alll your questions have been answered very nicely so i don't know why you still find them irrelevant... Also.. you talking about rape.. UHM. If you are raped you go telll the police you are raped. There is NOTHING written in the ISLAM which says you have to shutup if you are raped. Just because different Conturies do that and say its in "Islam" it isnt alright. Just because you do not have 4 witnesses does not mean a girl/boy can't go complain. Islam is about justice not about oppression. Also, a Hijab is NEVER allowed to be forced upon. You can't say just because a person wears a Hijab she is better than a person who doesn't wear it. So people who force other people to wear a Hijab.. thats peoples thinking not in Islam. So saying that forcing people to be wearing Hijabs is in Islam is incorrect. And the 4 wives thing.. LOL wow. You amaze me! do you not understand what you read? You are literallly just denying whats being written and don't even feel like accepting the truth. The details given by another memeber is correct and if you still wannan argue on that.. I don't got no time to be arguing over something thats right in front of you.Islam is Perfect :) Muslims are Not. The sooner you understand that, the better your thinking will be.

Hello was I even talking to you?? Do you have to butt in every time and reply to each and every post of mine even if its not addressed to you . We agreed not to talk to each other so why the hell are you so childish that you have to interfere in everything? Go get a life!

How is this getting psychotic? do you know what psychotic means? The topicmaker just said their opinion that she could have worn a shalwar or whatever but she didn't. We are passoniate about our Religion and its okay if you aren't. Also.. they say they are showing a Muslim background which means they also show Islam.. and they have shown it and have failed to do some things.

ALSO. Bringing up Religion does not make you insecure. Are you serious...I don't even think you read the posts properly. No one is telling anyone what to do. Stating your opinion on something does not mean you want them to do what you think is right. This show is showing a Muslim background and if they are doing that they are showing Islam and if they show something which isn't true then yea we will state our opinions about it. If you don't like that you don't even have to read it.

Anyways... "the clothes business giving us a bad rep" ? Uh talking about Religion gives you a bad rep.. ROFL. There is nothing here which I would call Psychotic. And I don;t think anyone here said Zoya is a bad Muslim :S They were stating their opinions.

It does not matter what people say... Funny how even with the media/people trashing Islam.. Islam is the fastest growing Religion in the world :) So what people say doesn't change anything. People that actually have a problem with a Religion/Culture they actually do research than judging based on what they hear and see.

Its not us that making it a big deal... we just state our opinions and thats where people get pissed off.

When I'm in university or at work, I can't go home to change so that I can pray my namaz. I believe that religion should not be made more difficult than what it is. As long as you are covered and wearing decent clothes, I don't find any problems in it. Besides, shalwar kameez is decent according to our culture, but if you go to arab countries like Saudi Arabia...they find it indecent! So, the thing is that everyone has different views about it. Neeyat is what matters, and Allah knows what is going on in our hearts...

Clearly you were not here during the Zoya's short skirt debate. Everyone was going gaga over this. Those who simply could not understand why it was such a big issue that a fictional character wore a skirt and those who were very offended. That is why I said psycho. It isn't even an exaggeration. When you act all crazy over the clothes worn in a fictional tv show what else am I supposed to say? That this is a normal occurrence. Maybe to others, not to me.
I was not referring to the TM. I said people on this forum get psycho over little things...which they do. Just because a tv show claims to have a Muslim background does not mean it takes it upon itself to represent that religion. I have already said that many times and it seems I will have to keep repeating it as a mantra because people just dont get it. Besides many other shows are based on hindus and yet they show things that not necessarily other Hindus follow or believe. Talking about religion as if you breathe it and as if you judge everyone around you according to your religion does give you a bad rep..in my eyes. Maybe not yours. It tells me that maybe I need to stay away from these people because they are just a little too obsessed with religion for my taste.
If you dont think this is making it a big deal then... you know what. Forget it. There is no use in talking to you. We will never see eye to eye because you are very religious and I am not. We have a very different worldview. Live and let live...that is my mantra. So you say whatever you want and do whatever you want. And discuss every single bloody person's clothes if you want. Whatever.

You are so right. I have gone to other forum too, questioned religious norms and traditions but no one has reacted so violently as witnessed in this forum. And if you sate that you don't agree with them they go cursing around .
