😊okay some have problem with the skirt some dont have.but due to a small skirt and such a small scene, saying zoya's character is buthered is wrong.uske kapdo se uska character define nahin hota.zoya is always a modern girl but she knows her surroundings.she was trying the skirt in home and when only nazma insisted her.my friends who re girls live in hostel and they said they in hostel have fun and wear dresses whatever they want.itne chote se scene se affected hona aur aage show nahin dekhna its weird.but its your choice but not all of us think like that.

Not my point, and no my mom and I are not so deeply affected by it that we would agonize over it. I'm just pointing out the simple fact that the skirt didn't go with our idea of what Zoya is.

I remember watching SBS and felt odd seeing her in a skirt mainly cuz it was such a new sight. But if you think about it it is highly possible for her to have worn skirts before. She's from NY, highly liberal, and wears what she wants because she's secure about who she is. Many Muslim girls do wear minis and Zoya is one of them. Point is that it's not unbelievable because it CAN be justified to being in character if you consider the life she may have had in NY, one which we simply don't know about.
I wish the writers had Zoya mention something about what kind of clothes she used to wear in an earlier scene/episode or something... maybe it wouldnt have felt like such a big shock. 😕

Side note - her long sleeves are there not because she's conservative or moderate but because her arm is burnt. I could see Zoya rocking half sleeved, sleeveless tops, tanks and camis if not for this tragedy.

I hope I made sense. Oh and not all moms are disapproving. Mine loved the scene, and in fact started playfully teasing me about the times i argue with her about similar things. 😊

I guess we just have different ideas about Zoya to begin with, so I'll agree to disagree (: And I guess our moms are probably on different boats too haha.

Just like Zoya said in the show- those were her clothes not her character..this is narrow mindset which attaches clothes to a type of character..if someone describes a small town simple girl than automatically people vision her as a salwaar kameez clad chasmish girl!..why cannot a simple small town girl be jeans or skirt wearing person?..
I can only request u to think broadly and being a woman understanding all the more the importance of not supporting such thoughts because if we will be so regressive how can we expect others to respect us and our choices.

The bolded stuff, your tone was mocking, plus you're calling both me and my mom narrow-minded and regressive. I don't appreciate that at all. It is our opinion, there's no need to get personal. But back to the point, clothes are not everything, but they aren't nothing either. You cannot deny the fact that your choice of clothes reflects at least a small facet of your personality. So yes, wearing certain types of clothes do garner judgments from others, and they are sometimes valid.

I'm not saying my mom's going to stop watching it altogether, but she probably won't be so prompt about it anymore, since her idea of the character is ruined. Uska character define nahi hota uske kapdo se, I agree. But it's not like they have absolutely nothing to do with each other. But anyway, yeah you're right, some have a problem, some don't. I just felt like expressing mine (:

first of all I apologize. No way did I intend to mock you and especially your mom!..I have not once pointed at you or your mom and u can re-read my reply if you think so..it was a general view..I said attaching clothes to a type of character is narrow mindedness and I said if we will be so regressive..so I stick to my point but sorry if you felt I intended it towars u becoz that was not my intention.

Well maybe we're just very different then... clothes on TV/Movies don't affect me at all 😆

She wore a backless blouse gifted to her by a very 'conservative' Asad... Meh. It's TV.. I don't dwell. They sent at least one good message through the contradictions and really that's as much as Gul is going to give us. 😆

I'm still going to watch it, I love this show no matter. I'm just saying my mom probably won't as interested anymore. Just disappointed with how it was shown that's all, and I think I have a right to my opinion, just as you do too. I'm not generalizing anything, merely stating mine and my mom's reactions.
