wht i wanna ask all of u is if instead of asad...zoyas mom was dying..and zoya thought it was asads fault and she slapped him...wud u guyz say the same?? tht cvs think its okay for men to be slapped?? if woman need to progress we need to stop crying over being oppressed in the first place..it wud be an issue if asad thought it wud be okay to slap woman...or if he thought woman were beneath his feet like sm men do...asad respects woman ALOT and thinks they shud be treated with luv..whtever his behaviour with zoya changes all the time (lets not discuss that..well stick to the slap) but he regretted the slap to NO EXTENT...it was a clear cut misunderstanding and even zoya ddnt know why he slapped her...or behaved tht way bcuz she clealry asked him ltr "mr khan aap yeh kyun kar rahe hain" and if a girl like zoya let it go..tht clearly means tht whtever happened was under the circumstances...if i was in zoyas shoes..and smthing like tht happened...i wud expect a slap too..bcuz frm bth asad and zoyas POV it was zoyas fault...asad WARNED her to send mariam away..she LIED to him...the maamo threatened asad minutes before his mom got shot...WHT DO U EXPECT frm him???

and as far as today is concerned...bth were right in their places...but zoyas outburst was bcuz she was bottling up tooo much for tooo long and she was TRYING to change and he was failing to see it...she was stressed and he pressed on it so...🤢

I fully agree. Very well said
I mentioned something similar above that had it been a guy instead of zoya , asad would have slapped him too in the situation n that for sure wouldnt have created such an uproar.
Zoya knows for sure asad isnt the guy who beats or even disrespects women n thats why she let it go.

i disagree...rather i will say that zoe showed her maturity by not arguing that time...dilshad was in such a vulnerable state and i will appreciate zoya for understanding asad's mental state that time...

The answer is simple...This fierce Zoya was not needed back then...it didnt serve the script.Dont be surprised if (or when) she lets him walk all over her next episode.

The fiesty Zoya was to promote micro minis. Perhaps the company wanted to promote them and paid the $$ and that is why they used them on the show😆 You are right, tomorrow she will be same old Zoya.

While we respect your opinion ( even though you obviously don't respect ours ) the least you could do was not go around degrading India and fellow indians by putting forth your ill formed opinions about us as our "opinions" . Do you realise the kind the amount of damage and ill-conceived notions such blatant lying ( that's the only thing i can call it ) results in? And to think that a few "Indians" are the very cause for the image we have overseas.

Sadness.

Ohh and your initial post implies that you yourself are a "modern, liberal woman" ( Well otherwise you wouldn't take it as your right to define one ) Do modern, liberal women go around calling someone a skank if she wears what she wants to?

No, the CVs don't think that wearing a mini-skirt makes you modern. Small minded people do. The word liberal has nothing to do with a person's clothes or appearance and everything to do with tolerance and how he/she treats people who do not share their ideology/thinking.
Remember the speech Zoya made in yesterday's episode?

The speech Zoya made in yesterday's episode? Was meant for people like you.

(Shakes Head)
I am stunned to think that someone like you is actually questioning her liberalism.

Hey Laila...People in India excuse a lot more than a mini skirt in a fictional tv show (read 'lot more' as rapes and crime against women and nonsensical shows on mtv and channel v)...ppl in india are not the epitome of culture...so plz save it...our country's moral compass does not point due north...and we are in absolutely no position to teach the indians out of india what to do and what to wear...if some1 does do something that goes against your ideology of right and wrong, its not their fault that u get affected...hold on to ur beliefs and let them hold their own...and plz only give ur opinion..not a collective generalized idea..its a humble request...

I am stunned at the responses. So Zoya does not need to speak up when she is slapped - we can find multiple excuses but when she dresses like (clearing throat cause you don't want to know what I want to say here), she suddenly finds her voice and gets all defense. Clearly a confused value system presented on this show. Very confused.
And which liberal Muslim girl here does not like sarees? Seriously - we're all finding execuses to wear them even my conservative cousin who wears a hijaab wears them!
It sad this had to be a Muslim show. I'd rather they were any other religion or none at all.
The show is a total insult to Muslim women.

I have to agree with you. I don't visit the forum much but a friend linked me to your topic and I had to comment. I get Zoya's POV as to why she fired at him...he does judge on clothes, but the stuff Zoya said don't make sense coming from a Muslim woman. Your clothes you wear do define your culture, at least that's what I've been brought upto believe and I think the creatives who write this show should really embed that in their tiny heads. They seem to forget in the mission of making India more aware about these issues and bringing change, that their show has a Muslim BG and it may not go well with those viewers. I did not like the mini-skirt issue at all. I feel like the show shows what the minorities in the religion/culture do and promote that and make the majority look orthodox. And I don't mean to get all preachy here, but if you have a show with this kind of backdrop go research a bit, seriously.

I can't help but agree with you. And there's nothing left more that I could add. If you dealing with a show like this, with a sensitive background, do some research. SERIOUSLY.

Very true and when Zoya was slapped by Asad, I guess it was a natural reaction from him to do it without asking anything because at that time he was worried about his mom and Zoya was the perfect person to vent his frustration. He cannot do it to Billi as she is his best friend and Zoya is family.
