Part V: ZoGa magic at work…

Asad and Zoya were at the old city in Bhopal shopping for their reception. Asad was keen to buy exclusive attire from the branded stores but Zoya refused. She wanted Asad to accompany her to the old city as finest kaarigars and stores were available. While Asad disliked the crowd Zoya enjoyed it. Zoya was chattering away to the dozen when she spotted the Kachori Street. She harassed Asad till he agreed.

The following conversation ensues:

Z-A: Mr. Khan, I have heard that the best kaachoris are found at this street? Is it true? God, look at the options. I am not sure where to start? What do you think?

A-Z: Ms. Farroukhi, are you sure? I mean, the nikah is few days away. You might fall sick. If need be, I will buy you kaachoris from the restaurant.

Z (with a smile)-A: Mr. Khan, are you worried about my health or about the nikah not taking place owing to my ill health?

A-Z: Both.

Asad realized his response and tried to avoid the more questions. He held Zoya's hand and took her to the Kaachori Street. Zoya laughed at her Mr. Khan.

At the kaachori wala:

Zoya ordered about three plates of kaachoris. She then looked at Mr. Khan and asked him to place his order. Asad was surprised.

A-Z: Ms. Farroukhi, you have ordered three plates. Why should I order? I mean, it is for both of us, right?

Z-A: Mr. Khan, the three plates are for me. I will finish them and have no plans for sharing it. If you wish to eat, please order.

A-Z: Ms. Farroukhi, are you sure? Is it not too much?

Zoya brushed away Asad's concern. Asad ordered a plate for himself. When the server brought the order, Zoya pounced on the kaachoris. Asad was embarrassed and the server smiled. He had never seen a woman pounce and eat food as this madam did.

Once Zoya finished hers, she picked half a kaachori from Asad. Asad was amazed at his fiance eating prowess. Where did all the weight go? He thought for a moment on the amount she ate and had to admit she was in awesome shape. He smiled at his thoughts. Zoya looked at him with chutney stained lip and nose and asked him on the reason behind his vague smile. He said nothing. He just stood up and inched towards Zoya who looked extremely cute. He wiped the chutney with his fingers and felt Zoya shiver at his touch. She had a shy smile.

Asad enquired if she wanted something more. She declined food but wanted to drink coffee. Asad sighed. Both of them ordered coffee and started to talk about stuff. Zoya shared her life in NYC and he spoke about his life. They disagreed on a number of things but they connected without any interruptions. Asad felt secure and warm with Zoya and Zoya felt content and rooted with Asad. Asad was also happy that the silly Danny had not called Zoya the entire time. He had to make his move before Danny did.

At the store:

Asad and Zoya had finished with their coffee and walked to the most famous store in Bhopal. The owner knew Dilshad well. He welcomed the couple and Zoya decided that they would start with Asad's attire. The owner showed him options in black and Zoya rejected them all. She wanted a different colour for Mr. Khan. She chose two outfits: one a bright red and second a copper blue. Asad was shocked as she had chosen bright colours. He refused to try them. Zoya argued but he was adamant.

Z-A: Mr. Khan, is marrying me such a bad idea? I mean, let me know. I will return to New York.

A-Z: (speechless): Zoya, uhhh, hmmm, No. Why do you ask? What happened?

Z-A: (in a seductive voice): Asad, black denotes mourning. Since the reception is after our nikan, are you telling that world that your life has ended?

Asad was helpless as Zoya had used her most seductive voice. He had no choice but to agree. He had to admit he looked nice in blue. His Zoya had a good taste in clothes. Now it was Zoya's turn and Asad picked out a peach lehenga. Unlike Asad, Zoya tried it out without a whimper. She trusted him and his choices. When she stepped out the trial room, he was astounded. She looked like a celestial goddess. Eyelock. (MITWA moment).

At the house:

Gayatri was alone at the Khan mansion. She thought it was time to get into the act. She stepped into Tannu's room and was there for a while. When Tannu returned, Gayatri acted like she had been out. Gayatri went up to her and said:

G-T: Tanveeer, it is important for Zoya and Asad that we get along. For some reason I have been wary of you but now understand that you have Asad's good intention at heart. I hope we will be friends.

T-G: Gayatri, I am sure you had Zoya's best interest at heart. You are right we need to be friends for Jammy and Zoya. No problems.

G-T: Fine. Then will you accept a token of friendship?

T-G: Of course.

G-T: This bracelet means the world to me. I have given Zoya the neck piece and am giving you the bracelet. Please wear it at all times as it will ward you from Evil Eye.

Tanveer was amazed at the turn of events. She thought that Gayatri would be her undoing. Here she was being friends with her. Gayatri was Zoya's friend and she was as innocent and nave as her. After all Tanveer thought, Gayatri is a teacher. After all teachers only saw the good in people (Gayatri had lied to all about her profession). Tanveer smirked.

Tanveer walked into her room. Behind her, Gayatri had the most evil smile. Billo Rani had met her match. The cat's purr would be stopped by the bitch's bark.

The plan was in motion. No one messes with Zoya and if someone does, they had to face Gayatri's wrath. No one wished that…Tanveer would soon know.
