Here's the update! And SBanoMalik, This is for you gurrl!!
chapter picks up from the last one)
Zoya glanced at the clock on Humeira's wall. It wasalmost midnight.
Shit! Asad's still at the house!
"Sorry guys I hate to leave but it's getting late and Asad's still at my house." Zoya said.
"Oh la la, is Hot Teacher Guy sleeping over? That's a little raunchy." Humeira joked.
Zoya rolled her eyes. "You have a sick mind Hummy. And don't call him Hot Teacher Guy, his name is Asad, but apparently you knew that already."
Aisha snickered. "This is really great!"
Zoya rubbed her temples, as Humeira clapped her hands excitedly.
"Oh my god! You so wanna go home to him right now! Aww this is so cute! Oh my god, you guys should totally stay up talking like all night and then maybe he
will-" Humeira started to ramble.
"I'm gonna go before you start planning a freaking wedding, which is never going to happen, so get it through your thick skull Siddiqui!" Zoya joked.
Humeira playfully pouted "Did you just call me fat Farooqui?"
Zoya smiled, "You make a stick look obese Humeira."
With that said, Zoya and the girls hugged and said goodbye.
Once she was in her car, Zoya turned her phone back on because Humeira made the new rule about no texting on girl's night, 'coincidently' on the same night she found out Zoya was texting Asad.
Zoya sighed as she saw that there was one missed call, a voicemail, and two texts from Asad. She bit her lip as she pressed the button to hear the voicemail.
"Hey Zoya, it's Asad Ahmed Khan. I don't know if you remember me but I'm in charge of your son Fahad, you know- small kid, brown eyes, sandy hair? If you don't remember me I'm the really hot guy who's the gym teacher at your school. Anyway Fahad-your
son- wanted to say goodnight before bed. I bathed him and he's in his pjs and I'm putting him to bed now. Uh anyway I hope you're having a fun night. Don't worry about anything, we're fine. I hope you're okay though, I haven't heard from you in a while. Oh well, I don't want to interrupt. If you're not home by one though I'm coming to find you. Talk to you later, bye."
Zoya's heart rate sped up at the fact that he was thinking about her, and worried about her.
I'm reading way too much into this. Get a grip!
She laughed as she heard Asad joke about him being the hot gym teacher, because one day they were walking in the halls and heard a teenage girl say that 'Coach Khan is the hottest gym teacher- like- ever!'
and Zoya burst out laughing, which actually hurt his ego a bit. Zoya also smiled when he asked if she
remembered him, obviously joking.
That's definitely his sense of humor
Zoya didn't want to think about Asad so she quickly turned on her car radio.
When she heard the song she instantly thought of Asad.
There goes not thinking about him... She thought as she starting singing the lyrics.

Humeira finished cleaning up the living room, and knocked lightly on her bedroom door.
"Ay, are you in there?" She asked, but there was no reply.
She walked into the room to see Ayaan laying on his back fast asleep. Humeira smiled at the sight. She tried not to wake her boyfriend while she was getting ready for bed, but when she closed her closet door it made a loud bang, and Ayaan woke up.
"What the hell?" He mumbled.
"Sorry." Humeira said.
"It's okay. Did you have a good night pretty girl?"
Ayaan asked while pulling Humeira to bed, as she squealed.
"Yes I did, but I don't want to talk about my night." Humeira said.
Ayaan suddenly pulled Humeira closer and kissed her deeply.
Humeira giggled. "No that's not what I meant." She explained and Ayaan whined. "I want to talk about your
night. What happened Ay?"
Ayaan took a deep breath. "Asad likes Zoya."
Humeira suddenly jumped up and screamed a shrill sound. "Ahhh!"
Ayaan covered his ears, "God Humeira, I know you'reupset but please stop screaming!"
Humeira rolled her eyes. "You didn't say that last night." She winked.
Ayaan rolled his eyes.
"I'm not upset Ay. That scream was a very, very happy scream." Humeira said grinning.
"Okay, I don't know what you're up to but whatever it is, don't think about it."
Humeira scrunched her nose. "Why not?"
"Because you know Asad, and I know Asad. He hasn't gotten laid since his accident, I doubt he actually
likes Zoya, he just wants to sleep with her, and we both know that Zoya is not fit for Asad. First of all,
she would never even do that because Zoya isn't like that. Secondly, my best friend and cousin, who's practically my brother- ew. And third, Zoya can't
get her heart broken again, and you know Asad will do just that." Ayaan explained.
"But what if you're wrong? What if Asad actually likes Zoya? Don't you want him and Zoya to be happy?" Humeira asked.
Ayaan sighed deeply. "I do want that, but I'm telling you they're not right for each other."
"So what are you going to do? You know people can't help who they like." Humeira inquired.
Ayaan snickered. "It's Asad. As soon as he sees another attractive girl he will forget about his little crush on Zoya. So that's why I need your help." Ayaan
said.
Humeira smiled. "Yay! I love helping! Okay great so I already have the perfect plan! Asad already likes Zoya, and I think Zoya likes Asad- so I can totally
set them up!" Humeira started to ramble getting more excited by the second.
"What the hell Humeira? Are you crazy? Were you listening to anything I just said? I don't want them
together! It's not happening! And what do you mean you think Zoya likes Asad?" Ayaan yelled.
Humeira totally forgot about her agreement with Zoya not to tell Ayaan about Asad so she inwardly cursed
herself.
"Nothing. It was just a guess, but Ayaan c'mon please! They'd be so cute together!" Humeira begged.
Ayaan smiled at his girlfriend's antics, but quickly got back on track.
"Humeira I need you to set Asad up on a date so that he gets over Zoya. Can you do that for me please?" He asked kissing her.
Humeira wasn't in the mood to argue so she just nodded and continued to kiss Ayaan.

"Hello?" Zoya asked as she entered her house. There was no reply, so she hung her coat in the closet, and walked further into her living room. Her heart warmed as she saw the sight in front of her. Asad was fast asleep on the couch with Fahad sprawled out on top of him also sleeping. Zoya thought it was the cutest
thing she had ever seen and wanted to take a picture but suddenly thought that it would be a little creepy.
She walked over to Fahad and kissed the top of his head. She really missed her son. For the first few years of his life she would never leave his sight, and she would never trust a babysitter with Fahad. For some reason, she felt safe with Asad, and she trusted him completely, especially with her son.
Asad stirred, and whispered "Zoya" under his breath.
"Yes?" She asked as she looked up into his dark blue eyes.
Asad made a small noise, and continued to stir. Suddenly his eyes flew open.
While he sat up his head collided with Zoya's.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" Asad rushed out.
Zoya giggled. "I'm okay, are you?" She asked while placing her soft hand on his forehead.
Asad swallowed past the lump in his throat.
This must be a dream. Has to be.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. How are you?" Asad asked.
"I'm great. I'm so sorry I got home late. I just heard your message in the car, I was at Humeira's and she took my phone. I didn't plan on staying that late but I
lost track of time..." Zoya rambled.
Asad chuckled, "It's okay Miss. Farooqui you're not in
trouble." He said smirking.
Zoya didn't know why but her face suddenly coloured red, and she giggled.
"Ok, so was Fahad good?"
Asad smiled, "He was amazing. Literally best kid ever. We had a lot of fun. I'd be happy to come back if
you ever need me."
Zoya smiled back, as Asad stood up. "Sorry I fell asleep, we were watching a movie..."
"It's okay. I know it's late, sorry again."
"No problem. So do you need me to carry him to his room? I'd hate to wake him up." Asad said nodding toward Fahad's sleeping figure on the couch.
Zoya's heart swelled at the compassion in Asad's voice.
"Uh yeah that would be great, thank you."
Asad gently picked up Fahad in his arms and headed to the stairs. Zoya walked over and in front of Asad to guide him to Fahad's room. As they
headed up the stairs, Asad tried everything in his power not to stare at Zoya's derriere.
" Don't look down, don't look down, don't look down." He chanted inside his head.
Unfortunately he couldn't stop himself and he let his eyes wander.
Jesus.
Asad suddenly felt all the blood in his body rush down south.
Control yourself
Asad clenched his jaw as he made his way up the stairs. Suddenly his back started to throb in pain.
"It's the first door on the left." Zoya said sweetly.
"Thanks." Asad groaned in pain. He gently placed Fahad under the covers and pulled them up to his chest.
"Goodnight buddy." He whispered, as Zoya watched from the doorway, and she had to blink back the tears that were forming in her eyes.
Asad felt another spasm of pain shoot up his back, and he winced. He put his hand on his back and gently massaged it.
'Are you okay?" Zoya said rushing over.
Asad smiled at the warmth in her eyes, and worry in her voice.
This is why I like her- wait what? I'm making myself sick.
"Uh yeah I'm okay. I just have a stiff back."
"Are you sure?" She asked.
Asad nodded. "Well I guess I should get going now."
Zoya frowned; she didn't want him to leave.
"Oh wait I have to give you something, I'll meet you downstairs." Zoya said.
Asad went back down and waited on
the couch.
Zoya ran down the stairs and handed Asad a twenty dollar bill.
Asad looked up and furrowed his brow. "What's this for?"
"You watched Fahad and brought a pizza. I would've given you more but it's all I have right now."
Asad laughed. "Zoya it's okay, I don't need money, I really didn't mind it at all. I was helping out a friend."
They both inwardly cringed at the word 'friend'
I want to be more than friends. Asad thought
Dude just ask her out.
No freaking way!
Why am I acting like a teenage boy.
On the other hand. Zoya was internally chastising herself.
Friend. That's right Zoya. You are just friends and that's all you're going to ever be so get used to it. The thought was depressing.
"Are you okay?" She asked Asad.
Asad shook himself from his thoughts and looked into her deep brown eyes. His hands grew sweaty and he took a deep breath.
"Uh.. you see... the thing is... um."
Can you form a coherent sentence? freaking dumb ass.
"I was wondering if um..."
Zoya could see the struggle going on in Asad's head and she furrowed her brows, "Yes?" she asked.
Asad looked into her eyes again.
Bad move.He quickly cleared his throat, and chickened out. "We're still having lunch on Monday right?"
Zoya was confused but smiled. "Of course. It's my favorite part of the day!"
Asad let out a breath he was holding. "Oh okay good. Your turn to buy." He smirked.
Zoya laughed and rolled her eyes playfully. "I know. You like Chinese right?"
Asad nodded, "Fried rice is my favorite."
"I know you told me a thousand times."
Nice move genius. Wait! she remembered!
His heart almost leapt through his chest.
"Okay great. See ya Monday." Asad said, smiling at Zoya.
"Okay, bye thanks again!" She said sweetly, and before she knew it she leaned in for a hug. Asad wrapped
his arms around her small frame and inhaled the scent of her strawberry shampoo that was embedded in his
memory. The hug lasted way longer than a normal just-friends hug should last, but neither of them noticed, neither of them cared, and neither of them wanted to
let go.
