Oblivious to Asad's presence Zoya walked in holding the pizza box in her hand.

"Baby mama is home" she announced closing the door behind her and placing the keys on the side table. As she looked up she saw Asad holding Amad in his hands.

Amad had managed to wipe his tears he came down from Asad's lap and walked over to Zoya hugging her tightly.

"Ami, look daddy is home." to which Zoya gave her well rehearsed smile. She handed the box to Amad and walked past Asad and went straight to her room without giving him a chance to speak. However, some time passed by and Asad's eyes were fixed on the door behind which Zoya had disappeared.

While Amad was busy watching his cartoons Asad took the opportunity. He knocked on the door but no one answered. He pushed open the door and walked in. She was nowhere in sight. He made his way to the large glass door that opened to the balcony. He pushed open the door and took a peek.

Zoya was sitting on the chair hugging her legs. Looking into nothing. However Asad's sudden intrusion startled her. However she deliberately ignored his presence.

"How is phoophi" she managed to ask after a few minutes.

"She wants to see you" he replied.

She remained silent. The news of Dilshad's stroke had saddened her very much. She had been meaning to visit her but she feared that she won't be able to refuse her wish. Her only wish, the only thing she had asked for in the last five years continuously. For her to come back home to Asad.

"Amad told me that you lost your job" he finally mustered the courage to question her.

She got up and headed towards her room, unwilling to address his concern.

"I want to help Zoya" He said grabbing her hand.

Zoya was amazed by his guts, "Let go of my hand Mr.Asad Ahmed Khan." she roared like a lioness.

He immediately released her.

"Amad is also my son" he tried to reason with her.

"You don't need to remind me of that Mr. Khan. It is the only reason I am tolerating you in my house after all you have done to me."

"Zoya please'."

"Don't Asad, don't'." she said holding up her hand.

She walked to the door and looked back with teary eyes.

"Mr. Asad Ahmed Khan I can never forgive you for what you have done, but I can't punish my son for your mistakes. I have allowed you to be his father, to be in his life so he doesn't grow up to be the man that you are. I want my Amad to have the love of his father."

She wiped the tears with her palm and continued walking up to him,

"Remember what you always told me Asad?" she inquired as he continued to stare at the ground.

"You always said that you hate your father but look at you now, you are no different. Only wish that I had realized that sooner. "
