Asad walked out of the hospital room soon after Dilshad fell asleep after the restless night. He drove home and jumped into the shower. He quickly dressed and came down to the hall room. However, the emptiness seem to devour his soul. He grabbed the car keys again and headed to the only place where he knew he would find all his comfort.

It was already 2pm by the time he pulled in front of the ten floor apartment building, Though old it looked sturdy. He reached the elevators and hit 4, once there he exited and was greeted by a man passing by "Aslam Aliakum Mr.Khan" and Asad simply nodded in reply. He finally reached his destination and pushed the doorbell waiting for a reply. Meanwhile he placed his hand in his pocket and took out something and hid it behind his back.

The door opened and Asad's world lit up.

A little child of about 4 years of age wrapped himself around his legs and held on like dear life. Asad instantly bent over and picked him up and began to shower him with kisses.

"Daddy you missed by soccer match yesterday?" to which Asad replied.

"Look what daddy bought for his tiger" and he handed Amad the chocolates.

"Did Dadu come back home yet?" he inquired immediately. And Asad nodded negatively.

" You know daddy I went to the Darga to pray for Dadu, don't worry she will be fine" Little Amad comforted Asad.

Asad walked inside closing the door behind him. Still carrying Amad he made his way to the living room and his eyes began to search for her.

"Are you looking for Mom?" he inquired raising his tiny hands.

Asad tugged on his his little glasses and settled next to him on the sofa. Instantly Amad jumped up and went and bought a glass of water to Asad. It always surprised Asad how well mannered his son was. He never missed a chance to fill him with happiness he perhaps did not deserve.

Amad now jumped into Asad's lap and rested his head on his shoulders.

"How is school?" Asad asked.

"The same, but I got into trouble today." Asad was alarmed.

"Why?"

" Because I punched Rahil for making fun of me, he said that I can't pay my school fees because I don't have my dad."

"Did mom lose her job again?" Asad inquired pulling Amad away to look into his eyes.

The little child's eyes moistened , " Why can't we all live together Daddy?" he pleaded innocently.
