Suddenly all went quit. His heart skipped a beat but he sat with his eyes still gazed at the floor.
The doctor walked out and looked towards Asad causing him to hold his breaths.
"She is asking for you Mr. Khan." he announced.
He didn't dare to peek through the door behind him and instead questioned the doctor.
"Is she going to be ok?" he inquired like a child.
"We have tried our best Mr. Khan." spoke the doctor in his mellow voice and walked away.
Asad composed himself and pushed the door open and walked up to the bed.
"Ami'." he said in a breaking voice.
After a few seconds Dilshad opened her eyes to look at her son. She looked at the torn apart man he was. She always feared this, that one day when she will be old and ready to part from this world her son would be left alone. Without love for the last five years.
"Asad I want to die in peace" she spoke in her weak voice.
Asad jumped at the thought. "Ami!"
"Bring her back Asad. Bring back Zoya. I beg you Asad fulfill your mother's last wish" she spoke the sentence and once again fell unconscious.
