I just watched the interview and here's my take.I think This guy is very transparent and his interview honest. I never saw any personal interview of Karan or his wife before. Generally I stick to interviews and segments related to the show. Somehow I like to admire and follow actors as the character they play not otherwise. I broke my rule today since I observed so many discussions regarding his interview and decided to check out myself.
I think he kinda spoke what he feels and that's unique. Normally in today's world people feel something and say something else altogether which he didn't do atleast in this interview.Rest I don't know how he is as a person as I am not interested .
I know for a fact that award functions in India are not GENUINE. None of them. They are rigged and based on so many factors but certainly not ONLY voting as the organizers claim often.
I am not saying the other actor did not deserve the award . He might have mainly because I heard that particular show is going on for long and ofcourse people might vote more but that incident did not change the fact that the award functions are mostly just a Show off , considered as a tv show to gain TRP and rigged big time.
I also did not feel this guy Karan was frustrated only because he did not get the award himself. He was speaking for many others who feel same but hesitated to speak onscreen. Just my POV. Yes some might feel he sounded like a sore looser but I felt he is just being honest, that's all.

Yay I was a bit shocked at all the hate too because I thought I wrote my thread in a very decent manner. Its not like I made extremely offensive claims without anything to back me up like I have seen some people do on IF. Seriousy I have seen some people hate just for the reason of hating,

You and I are similar then. I feel bad putting off other people too and then I come off as not being firm. When you aren't firm...you are an easy target and people think they can walk all over you.

His wife seemed almost embarrassed by his conduct and was trying visibly to prevent him from shooting his mouth off. And who can blame her. For all his acting prowess, Mr. Grover needs a lesson or 2 in humility. He also spoiled it for the actual winner, who is also his colleague and peer. The truly great are always very humble. Because when you have achieved a certain level of excellence, you pretty much have the self-awareness to know how little you know. That's my 2 cents.

And for everyone cribbing abt the Lamp and Wick show winning. Maybe it's not yours or my cup of tea, but its been ruling the TRP roost for over a year. Must be something good, I think.

Also, just because the person you want to win doesn't win, doesn't automatically make the other winner undeserving. Give them that much credit, please.

Excuse me but Im genuinely curious here, WHEN was KSG poor enough that he had to sleep in railway stations?
Because as far I remember and from his interviews, he came from well off family who lived in Saudi Arabia. He also had worked in Muscat before he began his career in Mumbai.

hmm i hardly watch off screen segments or interviews but i watched it for a friend who was very sad as he didnt win lol. but i think whatever he said was the reality, indian award shows r rigged...

i totally disagree with you!!Dont bash!! But what Karan Singh Grover did i wouldn't call that Self centered i would call that standing up for himself and others. Raising your voice is not what i would call self centered. He never did that because he felt he should have got it even if he did so what he deserves that award. He did it to show to the jury not to be biased not because he is self centered. Not to be rude you need to understand what self centered is and what it is to stand up for yourselves and others. Dont bash just proving a point!!
