Part 17:

Zoya: par Asad. Wouldn't it be better agar hum pehli appi and puphi se baath karlen?

Asad: don't worry about appi. Meine unse baath karli and she's fine with it. As for ammi, hum unse kal baath kar lenge. So' will you merry me?

She was very impressed with him finishing everything before she would request for. She was speechless as she hadn't anticipated this day to come soon. She nodded her head following with a yes over and over again. He slid the ring around her finger and got up.

Asad: why are you crying?

Zoya: im not crying, these are tears of joy.

Asad: you know what zoya? Ammi humesha mujhse danti thi ke kab shaadi karoge and one day we had a fight and she left this ring in my room. Seems like the ring found its owner.

Zoya: im feel like over the moon and its all because of you. Thank you very much! I love you asad.

She hugs him closely and he spins her around. All the while, Najma was watching them from the window and a tear escape from her eye.

Najma: kaash mujhe bhi rey aise propose karte.

She off the lights and went to sleep while asad and zoya were enjoying their precious moment. He gazes at her intensively for a while then he leaned forward and kisses her on her forhead.

Next moring, Dilshaad came back early and she sees the ring on zoya's finger while zoya was serving.

DS: asad tumine mujhekuch batana nahi hai?

Asad: oh ya ammi.

He took zoya's hand and they both stand in front of DS.

Asad: ammi meine shadi ka faisla le liya hai. Mujhe zoya ka saath shadi karni hai. I hope ke your fine with it. Meine zoya ki appi and jiju se baath karli, they are fine with it. Apko koi aitrazz toh nahi hai?

DS: kiu nahi hoga mujhe aitraz? Asad tum chate kya ho? Meine tumare rishte ki baath hakeem chacha se karli hai, uski beiti tanveer ke saath. I thought it was over between the two of you.

Asad: yeh app kya keh rahi hain ammi! Mein shaadi karunga toh sirf zoya se warna zindagi bar kuawara rahunga!

Then it struck him that his uncle's daughter tanveer is only 18. His mother would never ask him to marry someone so younger than him and destroy her life. They were so involved in this heated argument that they didn't notice zoya crying beside.

DS: zoya beta woh-

Zoya: puphi I know ke mein waise ladki nahi hoon jaise kissi maa ki ideal bahu ho. Mein jeans penti hoon. I don't know how to cook aur mein bohot batameez hoon but' but I won't go againt you. Ap asad ki shaadi uss tanveer se karwa do.

She ran to her room quickly while weeping.

Asad: ammi! Dekho apne kya kiya!

DS: par asad mein mazak kar rahi thi! I didn't know ke zoya itni seriously le legi.

Asad: aisa mazak kon karta hai?

He runs after her to her room but the door was locked.

Asad: zoya darwaza kolo. Zoya, please?

However she wasn't opening the door so he kicked the door open. He saw her sitting on the bad crying badly. He went towards her and cupped her face in his plams.

Asad: zoya ammi mazak kar rahi thi.

DS: haan beta mein mazak kar rahi thi. Tum dono shaadi karlo infect mein toh kehti hoon kal hi karlo. Mujhe koi aitraaz nahi hai.

Asad recalls how rey told him that when zoya is crying, it means she needs milk.

Asad: ammi milk please. Cold milk leke ao!

She went and brought milk and zoya drink it all up. She breathes slowly and wipe her tears.

Zoya: thanks I'm feeling better.
DS: I'm sorry beta... Mein mazak kar rahi thi.
Zoya: its okay puphi.
Asad: ammi can I talk to zoya?
DS: sure beta.

Asad: alone

Dilahsaad leaves them alone in the room.

Asad: look at me zoya.

She looked at him.

Asad: zoya tell me kya hua? You didn't cry because of mom, did you?
Zoya: Asad woh... I don't know. It just happens. At times I feel like crying. It's like a baby craving for milk.
Asad: I suggest going to the doctor for a better change, okay?
Zoya: okay.

He cups her face in his hands and kisses her on forehead.He takes her hand in his and led her towards the door.

Asad: ammi woh, I'm taking Zoya to the doctor.
DS: why? What happened to zoya?
Asad: nothing serious ammi, just a checkup.
DS: okay. Get back soon.

They go to the doctor.

Doctor: it's nothing serious. The thing is you heart is being burdened.

Zoya: matlab?

Doctor: Aisi Koi cheez ya phir Koi baat Jo app Ne kissi ko bhi Nahi batai... It's been there for awhile. I think its time ke apko kissi ke saath share karni chaiye. Kuch bhi itne dhar tak apne dil mein nahi rakhna chiaya, the heart also feels the burden.
Asad: thank you doctor.

They went outside wordlessly not knowing what to say. Asad didn't want to force her since he knew she might want time. They sat in the car driving home. All the while, she was sitting silent in the car staring outside the window. She needed time to disclose the truth to him. The ugly happenings that happened to her that day which she hid from everyone, even from Rey and humaira.

He slid his hand in hers conjoining their fingers. She turned towards him gazing at his supportive smile.
Asad: I'm with you.
Zoya: I know Asad.
Asad: if you wanna share anyth-
zoya: I need time Asad.
Asad: take your time.

They drove home being tortured by this soundless journey. Najma was the one to open the door.

Najma: Zoya ammi ne bataya ke you went for check up. doctor Ne kya kaha?
Asad: doctor ne kaha ke take some rest and don't take stress.

Najma: okay zoya tum rest karlo.

He takes her to her room. Later at night, she wasn't sleeping since she was thinking about how she should teel asad. She see a male figure admirning her from the window which was leading to the balcony. He waved his hand to her but since its dark, she couldn't see his face. She got frightened and she screams on top of her lungs. Asad heard her scream and ran to her room checking on her.

Asad: what happened zoya? Tum chila kiu rahi ho?

Zoya: asad wahan koi hain! I saw it my own eyes!

Asad: mein check karta hoon.

He checks the balcony but no one was there.

Asad: zoya wahan koi nahi hain.

Zoya: mera yakeen karo asad. Wahan sach mein koi tha.

Asad: zoya tummein Aram ki zarurat hai.

Zoya: nahi mujhe dar lagta hai.

Asad: mein hoon Na. I will stay here with you okay?

Zoya: asad wahan pe sach mein koi tha. If you don't believe me, tum camera mein check karo. Even last time, mujhe koi dikai di-

Asad: what? Last time?

Zoya: woh actually

Asad: tumne mujhe bataya kiu nahi.

Zoya: im sorry

Asad: zoya mein chata hoon ke tum sab kuch mere saath share karo. I know im asking for too much but-

Zoya: i want to tell you asad but mujhe dar lagta hai.

Asad: dar? Kisse?

Zoya: mujhe dar hai ke kahin yeh jaane ke baad tum mujhe chor ke chale Na jao.

Asad: Kya humara pyaar itna kamzor hai zoya? I don't know how to tell you zoya but I love you the way you are. Tumare past se kuch farak nahi padega. I want you with me in my future and I will stay with you till death.

She hugs him tighter while he kisses her on forehead. They fall asleep there. Someone watching them was seething in anger. While he was leaving, he drops something.
