Great post as usual

Don't know what to say abt Asad anymore, coz it has become really hard to understand this retarded man. He wants Zoe to do all the dirty work for him, while he can continue his blame game...what a coward...
Asad always wanted a marriage without love ( sort of arranged ), coz he is afraid of hurting that person like his coward father hurt his ammi, but who gives the guarantee that even if Asad had an arranged marriage, he wouldn't fall in love with that person eventually ???? Can Asad himself give that guarantee ???? And then what would he do...leaving that person becoz he is afraid of hurting her ????
I just don't get why Asad isn't even trying, instead of remaining negative abt marriage with Zoe or who ever...one can only know after trying and he doesn't seem even willing to...

About the pre-cap...well Zoe will never learn doesn't she ??? Even after so much happening and the latest Ayaan engagement fiasco, she still has not learnt her lesson. I am afraid this attitude of Zoe is gonna cost her big time too one day, when Asad is fed up of all this. She knows how Asad reacts when it comes to his Tehzeeb ki dukaan and still she does things without informing Asad or even Dilshaad for that matter...
If something goes wrong, just imagine what Idea Chor Mr. Khan will do with her...and she will be making Tehzeeb ki dukaan more cautious

AsYa were the saving grace today. Yes, worried or Zoya again...this time she is going out of line. She has grown up in the USA. No one does something silly like this.

Nice post.

A little underwhelmed by tonight's episode, as you say, old wine in a new bottle. But the AsYa scenes were delightful. And just loved Dilshaad's reaction to the AsYa squabble.
Worried for Zoya because if she bleeds Tanu and Tanu finds out there's gonna be blood-letting. Zoya is really putting herself in harm's way by doing this seemingly innocent favour.

If it were not for AsYa and Dilshaad, it would have been very intolerable.
Zoya is crossing the line big time I feel...hope she doesn't get into trouble with this one

If Asad slaps his fiance then I will stop watching this show or start rooting for Ayaan and Zoya.

Re: Asad asking Zoya to break the news to her Aapi and Jiju, he probably feels that since they are not going to go through with the Nikah once Dilshaad is better, there is no point in calling Zoya's relatives all the way from the US just now. Hence, he was dissuading Dilshaad from making the call. This way he's left the ball in Zoya's court yet again, and the decision to call them or not, and therefore whether to go ahead with the Nikah or not, will now be on her head (in a manner of speaking).

Communication and maintaining one's individuality are the keys to a successful marriage. A couple that can communicate and a couple that can keep their 'you, me and hum' identities separate are the ones who are most likely to have a successful marriage in the long run.

" Tum dono tho bilkul aise ladh rahe ho jaise 10 saal se shaadi shuda ho'.bilkul husband and wife jaise."

Only a doting and experienced woman like Dilshaad could have made that statement when she caught Asad and Zoya arguing in the living room. Dilshaad, very perceptive about people and relationships is absolutely right. As a married woman myself, I totally concur with what Dilshaad said today. In the real world, most couples communicate via three ways- talk, fight, or silence. While the first two ways are effective, the third one is usually a sign of a dysfunctional marriage. Aren't we happy that our favorite couple is communicating and not in silent mode?

Both Asad and Zoya are very strong personalities, two individuals with distinct identities. Perhaps, it's their distinctiveness that attracted them to each other in the first place. Of course, that does mean more arguments, more clashes and more verbal fights. Despite these differences, these two individuals have unknowingly gotten closer and have become inseparable to the point that when apart, they actually lose their identities.

When together, it's their individualities that glare at us. We see their differences and so does an outsider (eg Tanu) but what one fails to notice is the subtle 'hum' in their relationship. This is what Dilshaad has noticed and that's why she believes that they are indeed made for each other.

It's the 'hum' in their relationship that makes them put up a united front when DB confronts them, when Dilshaad questioned them about the engagement (when they got back from the airport), when they agreed to a formal engagement after Dilshaad's feigned illness and now will join in the jashne-saugat next week. The 'hum' in their relationship craves for each other's company. That's why, they find the most trivial reason to be together, to poke each other, find each other in a large gathering (Valima), dream about each other once they are alone in their bedrooms, risk their lives and principles for each other.

Our beloved couple is a bit nontraditional in the sense that most couples reach this stage of constant bickering after years of marriage. So, one can only hope that their relationship will actually progress in the reverse gear. As they continue to understand and live with each other, we will probably see a shift from bickering to more sweet nothings, from glares to smiles, from inability to look into the eye to more eye locks, from finding excuses to touch each other to finding it impossible to not touch each other.

What a wonderful journey that would be for all of us and for this couple, who are hopelessly in love but are afraid to express it? Will they ever express it in words? I doubt it. They have always been guided by their actions and that's how they shall continue to evolve into their 'you, me aur hum' relatiohship.

Precap:

  1. Zoya, Zoya, Zoya'why are you so foolish? It's a good thing that you have turned your brain cells on, but drawing blood from someone? Please leave it to the professionals. Imagine the wrath of your Akdu Ahmed Khan when he finds out what you have done to his tehzeeb-e-afta.

I wouldn't be worried about Asad-Tanu. Asad would never leave his museebat for the tehzeeb-e-afta. If he does, he would be signing a contract for the most dysfunctional relationship in the world.

Why didn't he call Aapi-Jiju? He is an introvert. That's it. I wouldn't take this as a negative sign. He is committed, just too bashful to admit it. As always, he wants Zoya to do the dirty work for him. Imagine after marriage, Zoya will be the one fighting with the milk man, banker and newspaper man toowhile he holds her responsible for Global warming and other perils of the world.

Even in Tanu's case, Zoya will gather all the evidence but hopefully, Asad will catch her read handed and ask her to leave his house and life forever.

My Fav scene:

Zoya teasing him in her room. SJ was just delicious in that scene 😳

No comments about Siddiqui household today'old wine in new bottle.

Hey Sangeeta! Sorry about the late reply, but i got home really late - almost missed the episode too.

This Friday was a filler episode. Considering that the show has been hitting it out of the park for the past couple of weeks it was a bit of a let down, however two things stood out to me -

  1. Asad did NOT react in anger. When I read the WU I was cursing Asad out but all AsYa did was bicker...A LOT!
  2. Asad was gauging Zoya's reaction to what he said very carefully when they were talking strategy outside Tannu's room. (FYI guys, find a better place...PLEASE!)

Dilshaad was right, AsYa are behaving like a committed couple. And i am beginning to believe AsYa are realizing that. There constant need to be in each others orbit should prove that if nothing else! So, they both are willing to continue the "facade" by performing all the rituals. They are willing to do it so seriously that Asad didn't even put up much of a fight with regards to that gift. This gift is going to be something really meaningful and sweet, I can bet. Just please don't be the earring! I had an idea that it should be a surprise visit from Aapi and Jiju.

Point of Contention-

Zoya, I know you mean well but taking blood from someone without their permission is illegal and I won't blame Asad or Tanveer if they get mad at you. Tch!

Side note:

They have cast Ayaan-Vikrant Massey. He doesn't look like he could possibly play romantic lead to SJ in any capacity, what do you think?

Loved the title, U Me n Hum! You are so right about the couple talk, fight and silence thingy! In our we have more fight than talk/silence!😃 And hence I totally identify with Asya bickering! 😉

There were couple of good stuff in the episode! Zoya getting a whiff of Tanveer inconsistency. Asad's faint smile and his giving in when Zoya demanding for a gift and his lookback!❤️ The guy despite his protests is fast becoming Joru Ka Gulam!!!😆

PS. The only part which gives me jitters is Zoya's rash actions.. like drawing blood .. I would hate to see Mr. Khan's reaction if he gets to know it! When will this girl learn!

Hi Sangeeta,

Wonderful post 😊 Amazing how you find the connection really!

Correct - agree completely! Communication is the key to a any successful relationship. As a married woman, I concur with you. The 'hum' in their relationship is there - very subtle though and it is this that the perceptive Dilshad.

the bickering in today's episode was excellent. SJ was very nice- in all the teasing scenes. Asad had a small smile throughout - despite his reminding her that it is all nakli and one day he will tell his mom the truth.

Wonder what Asad will get her as a gift! He had a small smile in the scene! As long as he doesnt return her earring, I am fine. if he returns her earring, what will he stare at when he is alone and reminded of her, during their separation?

No comments about Razia and Badi Bi.

Precap- I felt uneasy about it. Zoya and her drawing blood (very silly of her) can lead to a huge MU between Asad and Zoya. Oh god, no more MU's...

PS: Vikrant Massey is the new Ayaan... he looks okay. I dont think there will be much of chemistry between SJ and him (hopefully).

Hopefully the MU is that he thinks she is pregnant! I could live with that. No more stupid moments where he screams at her and then regrets!
