Another great post. Although turning it into an almost comical situation irked me a bit, I was not at all surprised by Zoya's response. She is extremely fearful of Asad's rejection. Of others she may be more tolerant but with him the wounds run deeper. If you've not yet seen, try and watch the episode where Zoya stands with outstretched arms for an Asad who she thinks is running towards her. (This one must be 7th March or the 8th) When he hugs another girl instead her world just falls apart. I think this scarred her further.

Both Asad and Zoya are equally broken and make a whole if and only if they are together. Happy times though are not too close and I actually like that. Angst and star-crossed lovers are my favorites too. A teeny bit of logic thrown in to a show and I am content 😃

Great post , zoya is as emotionally scared as asad because of their respective pasts its just that asad shows more obvious signs than her . Her fear of rejection runs very deep that's why she wants asad to confess first .That's why I think getting them married right now is not a great idea neither of them is ready for such a huge commitment ,they have to move on from their pasts before they can take the next step !

I've read all the replies and I'll be back to comment further on your observations a bit. 😊 It's wonderful to know that people actually understand what is going in her mind. 😆

You spoke words out of my mind. I feel she is too, emotionally challenged than Asad. She does not want to answer her own questions. The day Zoya and Asad look beyond their layers at each other: Zoya behind Asad's seriousness, and Asad behind her childishness, they will find two very similar people. Stung by their past, hurt to their core, with a soul pining for love... Not wanting to make the first move, not as ego, but as a wall. Yet, Zoya does come across as a childish egoistic girl (Asad's interpretetaion of her) and by doing what she has done today, she has only augmented his judgement. On the other hand, as an oscilatting fan, a yo-yo, Asad has also, only further augment Zoya's judgement of each other. They need to both step aside, and think for themselves as to what they want. Both, need to!

Imade a hurried post with the same topic, but must admit you beautifully wrote the facts, much more baeutifully than i did!

I wouldn't use the words emotionally challenged in her case. No, neither Asad nor Zoya are emotionally incompatible or lack in their emotions. What I feel is that they are both reserved in their own way. Yes, Asad's seriousness is easier to decipher, but Zoya's 'insolence' and childishness is often seen as a lack of maturity. She doesn't lack maturity, she only tries to take an easier path in life. She wants to see everyone happy, which is never possible. Asad may speak of her in that fashion, but I'm sure Asad understands more than we give him credit for. When he held her after breaking the news of her father's death, he must have realized the emotions... When she was blabbering on the way, did you see the pain in his eyes? It was breathtaking.

They need space and time. To be honest, I had hoped that Zoya went back to New York, just to get her bearings right. But that might not be a good option anymore.

And thank you, that means a lot. 😳

I think all Zoya needs is assurance.Every woman needs to be assured that the man she loves, loves her back.Zoya may understand Asad to some extent but that doesnt mean she knows him inside and out.Especially for a bipolar guy like Asad that does something totally out of character then quickly changes his mouth in another instant.
Zoya had said that she will get him to admit his feelings but have we ever heard her saying she loves Mr Khan??Sure we know by her actions and expressions that she is deeply in love with him but have we ever wonder why havent she admit to herself that she loves him?She needs him to say it.U cant just know a man loves you,he needs to show and be proud of being in love with you.Asad's cold behaviour then warm concern then he retorts to the cold shoulder can be very confusing and very irritating. Zoya wants him to tell her he wanted to be engaged to her.She wants him to tell her that he needs her in his life.
You brought up a good point about rejection and that fear of being rejected has made Zoya the way she is.Zoya may seem confident and bold but inside there is a weak woman that yearns for love.Zoya knows the minute she admits to herself about her feelings they automatically becomes real and that is something she would not be able to deny or push away. That is why she constantly pester Asad to tell her about his feelings. She knows but she wants to hear. Its not enough for you to show your love one minute then act like a jerk the next. She needs to know that Asad wont abandon her cause who better to know the pain of abandonment and also the fact that she did feel rejected by her Abbu better than her?
Ps. You writing and posts are really good. You should write more😛.

The same goes for a man, too! They also need reassurance, as much as we women don't want to admit, these men are just as scared as us. Not all of them are heartless. He's been a jerk sometimes, but so has she. It's not their fault that they are like them. It's in their defense mechanism to avoid the whole matter and change the topic. What do you think?

I write quite a bit, actually. 😆

It did actually, but frankly, I had expected it. Think about it. These two are nowhere ready to be together in front of the world where people will judge them and criticize their relationship. Can you imagine the kind of hurtful things people might say to both Zoya and Asad.

The worst part is both of them will not be able to protect the other from the cruel eyes of the world. When Zoya gets to know about her father, not even Asad will be able to handle her. She'll forever feel unwanted and undeserving for Asad. She's an illegitimate child and psychologists say that these children can be so strong that they conquer the world or weak enough to destroy it with their own hands.

I've not seen this episode, but I'll make sure to watch it.

This show is definitely one where emotions run high and people say things like in the normal world. It's no fairytale. That's what I love about this show.

No, neither of them is ready for such a huge commitment, but life isn't that easy. Life gives tests that shove us to the right direction. IF they do get married, then it will act as a catalyst and they might be able to face the world. They love each other, no doubt, but to think that they will not be able to handle the truth is heart breaking.

It's the truth, yet they need someone or something to let them see it without hesitation.
