Dear diary,

Sorry for the late entry. Sorry that I am rushing in to it...

We were at the threshold of a 'mat jaa' as the week began.

There were many sweet moments...the earliest I can remember is this: Asad dreaming of Zoya, mourning over her father, holding the musical toy:

Tu Jahaan where ever you are

tu jahaan main wahaan i'll be there wherever you are

sang sang yu chalu tere i'll walk together with you

jaise tera aasmaan just like your skies

Perfect! He wants to be with her, wherever she goes...regardless of what his dimag tells him.

Zoya, aching for Asad, convincing herself- 'it's a part of life; people meet, people part...', yet, she slips in to a day dream :

ho gam ke badal mujhpe tham jaane de let the gloomy clouds loom over me

bechainiyo ko mujhse takrane de let the restlessness attack me

dukhti ho koi baat mujhpe aane de let any hurtful talks come to me

dil sochta tha ke koi apna ho my heart always thought of someone to be mine

koi raaz na ho jo uss se rakhna ho someone who I won't keep secrets from

aankhein na kholu main shayad sapna ho won't open my eyes; perhaps it's a dream

But she opens her eyes, and it is a dream...Main kyun unke bare mein sochna bandh nahi kar sakti hoon?

Tamatar comes to her the next morning and Zoya tears up seeing Phoophi's and Tamatar's farewells. It is final! She has to leave them both and who does she turn to for comfort?

This is what she is asking of him...

jo dhup nikli chaya ban jaaunga if the sun comes out ,i'll become your shade/shelter

jo ho tu akeli saaya ban jaaunga if you are alone, i'll become your shadow

jo uljhan mein ho mann main behlaaunga if you are disturbed, i'll ease your mind

and here she sings back in hope...

tum aa gaye ho toh jeena aaya hain becoz of your presence have I learnt to live

khushiya ka tumne yeh jaal bichaya hain you have spread the net of happiness

khoya hain khudko yah sab kutch paaya hain have I lost myself or found everything

She comes back to her senses and sees Asad's impersonal message, and she cannot believe it! She shakes her head in disbelief, leaves before she hears the mat jao message and confronts Mr. Khan:

She gives him a piece of her mind and leaves him, and here, Mr. Khan gives the FINEST INTROSPECTION in the history of QH:👏👏👏

Main jaanta hoon Zoya, (He knows! Mr. Know it all!)

Yeh jo ajeeb sa ansuna ankeha khichaav hum donon ke beech hain, woh tumhe bhi itna tang kar raha hai jitna mujhe

Lekin behtar yehi hoga ki hum isse ansuna hi rehne de...(Oh Yeah! Who are you to decide? Is this one of your one sided conversations where you speak and Ms. Farooqui listens? UNFAIR! Even a jahapanah should ask kaneez what she wants.😒)

Kyunki hum hum ek doosre ke liye nahi bane hai...

Hum ek doosre se bahut alag hai...(Opposites attract, you idiot! That is the LAW OF ATTRACTION!😆)

Main nahi chaahta ki tum mere paas aao, kyunki agar tum mere kareeb aagayee toh shayad tumhe dard ke alawa kuchh nahi de paoongaaa..👏(Oh! Now that is sweet! Really sweet! You are doing all this for her sake...still, you are one hell of a confused guy. Don't you think you should consult Ms. Farooqui on matters of the heart like your 'hey, actually not as confused as you' bro, Ayan!)

And later Zoya stumbles on the hidden confession and the coin toss and all that...

The gist of it is, she did not leave. What made him stop her? Well, I told you, he is confused! It was a tug of war between the heart and his mind, and to his dismay later on, the heart won hands down!

And Zoya agrees that he is confused!

She confronts him with the video, calls him emotionally challenged, and what does he say?

"Mujhe nahi pataa aap is sabke kya matlab nikaalegi. Aisa kuchh nahi hai"

(WTH! What matlab? To Zoya, it meant only one thing- he said, mat jaa. And that is all she has processed so far. He said not to go. 'WHY?' is not a question she asked. Arrey, how will she ask? This guy has to let her off decoding him, na. All her time is wasted on researching, 'Mr. Khan aisa kyun hai?' Only after she finds the cause for his weirdness, will she even think about analysing her feelings!)

So she came out with an innocent, "Main koi matlab nahi nikaal rahi hoon!It sounded like aap ne kaha- Please Zoya, mat jao."

Mr. Khan should learn a big lesson in honesty and clarity from Zoya. See how clearly she puts forth her POV! But he has to complicate it further with,

"Maine kahaa na, Aisa kuchh nahi hai. (Kaisa kuchh nahi hai...what is the guy blabbering about? He just said mat jaa Zoya, it is even recorded on the tape, unlike the dance which she has no proof of...What The!) It was nothing. Mere liye aapko rokne ka matlab, jaati hui museebat ko wapas apni tarah maudna"

Hats off to Zoya! She was totally in control.Any other girl would have accompanied the following dialogue with a short cut remedy to Jahapanah's emotionally challenged state- read- hit him on his head with a vase. Not Zoya! She walked away with "Oh Really! Good! Deal with it. Kyunki ab yeh museebat kahi nahi jaa rahi hai..." (I bet Asad did a secret victory dance the moment the camera was turned off! Yaaahooo...)

Ah! But you are mistaken if you thought she left it at that. If you thought that, you don't know our heroine. If he is emotionally challenged, she is an expert at EMOTIONAL ATYACHAAR! Therefore the next two confrontations saw her throwing it at his face- "Aap aise kyun hai, app jo kehna chaahte hai kyun nahi keh paate?" ermmm... . Zoya is actually wrong here, you know.

Aap jo kehna chaahte hai, is different from what she sunna chahti hai.

All she wants is,"Don't cry, Zoya" and he is dying to say, "I love you Zoya" How funny! She is right in the spirit, but if he actually spoke his mind, Zoya would be the one who would be tongue tied!

But if you thought Asad Miyan was going to bow his head and listen to Ms. Farooqui's ramblings...think again!

His first retort was an earth quaking "Zoyaaahhh!", when she dared to allure to death...He must have relived Mangalpur there- poor thing!

The next time he actually came out with a lengthy dialogue to prove that his vocabulary was not limited like she had been lately assuming..."Aap jisse emotionally challenged kehti hai, use meri dictionary mein lihaaz or tehzeeb keha jaat hai (I wonder what that holi dream sequence is called in his dictionary? 😈LIAR! Wait, he had more to say!) Lekin yeh baat aap nahi samjhegi kyunki iss ke liye akal chahiye hoti hai"

I don't remember if Zoya blinked, but I blinked! Zoya must have been in a good mood, because he confirmed once more that she had no akal, yet she ignored it and engaged in a lengthy conversation with him...to give Tannu darling enough time to engage the next cupid in the list!🤣

Haaye, and the next morning, someone was again in form! He came out with a deadly one liner, "Usski khamoshi doosron ke chillane se bhi loud hai"...heh heh...I agree. Even when she stays quiet, he imagines she is talking to him! Tabhi uski khamoshi loud ho jaati hai na...😆

Well! This is where we leave our lovers as the week starts...

Adsad, desperately trying to hide his feelings, yet slipping up and then covering up...thus confusing our intelligent little Ms. Farooqui.😳

Which question should she tackle first?

"Mujhe farak kyun padta hai"🤓 ya "Aap jo sochte hain, keh kyun nahi paate hai?"🤓

Knowing Zoya, she will want to help out her Mr. Khan first! And that question is going to be all the more easy to tackle when she has the excellent opportunity to study the specimen since he has been conveniently engaged to her by a stroke of fake...sorry...fate!

PS: Sorry 4 lengthy post, plus echoing some discussed thoughts...but I needed to shake my mind off Saazishers!😉

Agree/ disagree- please leave some comments🤗:

Brilliant post! Loved it, especially the title, 'A stroke of FAKE' Clap
You've touched all the aspects and penned it down so well, I don't really have much to add. But just a few things.
"Aap jo kehna chaahte hai, is different from what she sunna chahti hai. All she wants is,"Don't cry, Zoya" and he is dying to say, "I love you Zoya" How funny! She is right in the spirit, but if he actually spoke his mind, Zoya would be the one who would be tongue tied!"
I am so much in agreement with you over this. If Asad does confess to her at this point of time, I think she'll be at a loss for words 😆 She is yet to realise the depth of her feelings for Asad. Again, its just that 'why' they both need to address. More than Asad, I feel Zoe is the one who should be internalising it more. Also, I was pondering over something a while ago. Will share it with you. I was thinking Zoe is a straightforward person, someone who is direct in her approach. We've seen her confront Asad zillion of times. Even telling him that "aap itna nahi bol sakte that you care", so why can't she talk to him this time and sort it out. Of course, not expecting her to say that she loves him, she is far from that realisation yet. But something along the lines of having feelings for him, something which is more than attraction clearly. Then again, on second thoughts I felt that being direct about your opinions and other issues is a lot different than being direct about your feelings. Both of them are equally scared of rejection. They somewhere have an idea of what the other person feels but then they aren't sure of it. And neither of them wants to admit it. Its like they are in this stage where they don't feel the need yet or want to express to the other. They are happy in this stage. For him, her going away mattered. She isn't going, he's happy at the moment. He didn't want her to leave and she's happy about it. That's it.
Wonder what will make them come to terms with their feelings 😕
PS: Sorry for my long rant

Awww... Thank YOu...😊

I am not a great writer, and probably not the best person to translate, since hindi is not my first language...here you go...

Main jaanta hoon Zoya,

Yeh jo ajeeb sa ansuna ankeha khichaav hum donon ke beech hain, woh tumhe bhi itna tang kar raha hai jitna mujhe ( Iknow, Zoya that this strange tug that pulls me towards you- that which cannot be explained in words-neither spoken, nor heard- I know it affects you in some measure as it does to me...)

Lekin behtar yehi hoga ki hum isse ansuna hi rehne de (But it will be better if WE let it stay that way, not analyse it further)

Kyunki hum hum ek doosre ke liye nahi bane hai...(Because we are just not made for each other.)

Hum ek doosre se bahut alag hai...(We are too different from each other!)

Main nahi chaahta ki tum mere paas aao, kyunki agar tum mere kareeb aagayee toh shayad tumhe dard ke alawa kuchh nahi de paoongaaa..

(I don't want you to come closer to me, because I might end up hurting you more if I allow you to get closer to me...)- He is talking about his fear that he will never be able to do justice to loving someone, since he has always wanted to keep away from that emotion, having seen its destructive side on his Ammi's psyche...(Even though I maintain Dilsahad has handled her loss and betrayal pretty well, but to Asad, she has never moved on...)

you are all a bunch of hopeless romantics i say! 😆

i don't see half the stuff in terms of symbolism or perspective...but did like the "soliloquy" part...i thought he was confused.. did he accidentally record or not...never got that😕

Thanks, Shreya.

Always thrilled to read your comments...🤗

Yeah. I love it that Zoya is very straightforward...I felt the whole week belonged to her, actually. Mr. Khan was reduced to a blabbering fool when it came to his feelings, Zoya was ready to tackle it head on. She appreciates transparency...

I think th eproblem was the last dialogue- when Asad tries to shake off Zoya, he is not very kind with his words- not that it affects Zoya, since he knows too that she is not a bechaari- the point is, he has clearly refused to talk about it, every time she broached the matter up.

So the ball is in his court, Zoya has to wait till he throws it to her side again, when she will interrogate him again.

Wonder what will make them come to terms...have you forgotten the synopsis?

Ayan will! I feel that is his role in this whole drama...to make Asad realise that Zoya is too precious that he cannot even dream of losing her to even Ayan- for whom he can even give up his life! But not Zoya!

Ankie (and the whole forum) will kill me if she reads this, I really hope Gul has not forgotten the synopsis...😉

Q- rose,

It was accidentally recorded! He was confused when she brought up the video- it was his private most thoughts...(Oh! I didn't include that in my post..that was beautiful too...)

Bunch of hopeless romantics- HOPELESS!😆
