Good question Rin. I think Asad threw a challenge at her yesterday to gauge her feelings. He said two things:

1. Tho kya aap mujhsey sagai karne to tayyar hain?

I think more that the first question, the second was a direct challenge for her. He knows she ran away from her nikhaah and he thinks she doesn't take relationships that seriously but he has seen her since those early days and knows she is capable of honoring a relationship (with her father, with Dilshaad etc) If she had said 'yes' and "i know it's an important decision of my life and I will honor it," he would have gone through with the sagai and nikaah. I think emotionally she is not ready to make such a big commitment. That's why this separation track will help her realize the depth of her feelings.

I think you have got this bang on bheegi! Zoya, eve today, is the emotionally affected child who has sever abandonment issues. Ben compared to Asad it doesn't seem like she does but if we are to analyze her behavior it will prove otherwise. Her constant deflection from emotionally charged discussions tha require her feelings to be acknowledged, her happy-go-lucky front, her sensitivity to criticism an now with Asad her fear that her feelings will be rejected.
