But I was a bit disappointed when Zoe showed Asad the video and when he was in denial about it, she just left it there and then when she had a golden chance to probe him further and had the evidence in the form of his video. She knows by now that Asad stopped her because he feels something for her. Is it like they both have a habit of ignoring what's obvious and right in front of them?
Any thoughts on the above?
PS: Loved the quotes you used (Love Kahlil Gibran)

S,
I was angry with Gul because of Asad, actually.
I might mention it again in the diary. He was not making any sense- he knew he loved her- wanted to save her the pain of his imperfect love- lets her go- the mat jaa happens by a play of fate- till here, it was fine.

Then suddenly he takeds the coin and makes her stay back- what made him change? Why was he dilly dallying? If he had made the decision, he should've allowed her to go.

2 things I remembered-
1. Dilshad says- uss bichaari ki koi nahi hai.
2. He wants that smile back on her face.

And the best way to make her happy is to let her stay back- because she had alreday made that decision to stay back and he had been th eone who had pushed her in to going. It had become an ego hassle between them.At least, for her , it was- I will stya if and only if Mr. Khan says so...

And he did not say that because he felt that was not in her best interests. But when she was about to leavre, Zoya again expressed her wish to stay back, without him saying mat jaa- so it was clearly her decision alone. And she was happy with it, even though he had not asked her to.

This was a major realisation for me when I triesdd to crack Asad. And I was happy when it came to me. Otherwise he just did not make sense. I want to laud the creatives for this twist in teh story...it is a series of twists, na.

On Zoya not probing further- she is just fed up of his voltefaces. One moment he says he will accompany her to Badi Masjid, the next moment he is suddenly too busy.

SHE KNOWS! She knows that he cares for her- BUT SHE DOES NOT KNOW THE DEPTH OF HIS FEELINGS- so for her it is another game- Mr. Khan loves to hide- the dance which he obviously remembers (That is silly, according to her, because she knows they both remember it, and SHE DOES NOT FEEL ANY NEED TO HIDE- IT IS NOT EMBARASSING FOR HER, why is it so for him? ); and now he refuses to acknowledge that he cares for her enough to ask her to stop!

This has confused her.
Why can't he be straightforward?
If he cares, why can't he show? What is he afraid of? Zoya is expressive, and ASAD is REALLY emotionally challenged! Yesterday she did not probe him further, because she could see he was lying through his teeth. He had lied at the toss, then he lied about it, and now he was lying about him wanting her to stay back- in spite of the video.

And he suddenly, cleverly averted her attention by mocking at her- highlighting the differences between them- 1. That is foremost in his mind- their differences. 2. He knows she will bite that trap, so it is an easy way out of her interrogation!.

What do you think Zoya takes Asad's feelings 4 her to be?
I feel she is excited about th efact that Mr. Khan who wanted her out of his house the moment she set her foot in, wants her to stay back. He cares for her...like a...It is this part that is incomplete!
And he confuses her enough so that she does not ponder enough to fill in the blanks!

This is how I see Zoya right now. And believe me, I am always happy with her. Loved the way she barged in and left in a huff- so typically her, and so well Asad has learned to misguide her!😆

I dont know why, i always feel Zoya's words and Dilshad putting an emphasis on them that she really has no one, Makes Asad feel more for Zoya.
Zoya's words, 'At least my mother could feel my pain!' makes Asad love her more, he literary FEELs her pain like her mother would have.

Letting her stay back wasnt only for his family's happiness or Zoya's happiness but also for himself.
USse pharak padta hai ki Zoya usski Zindagi mein rahe ya phir na rahe!

He very well knows that Zoya is his missing part of life and she completes it.

It was not only for Zoya or his family, but also for himself too. 😳

Thank you for sharing your views and for such a detailed reply. Appreciate 🤗
@ Bold: Couldn't agree more. It is Asad's behaviour which confuses her all the more. He has this bipolar personality that can drive any woman mad. He is the one who keeps on giving her mixed signals and honestly, that's what I had thought of would happen. Like this back and forth kinda situation between them.
"He cares for her...like a... It is this part that is incomplete," totally with you on this. If for once, this man could be direct with her. But I guess that's too much to ask for from him 😆 at least for the time being. Hope in the future, it isn't the same, Also, I feel Asad has this fear of rejection. Since the Mangalpur fiasco, he started looking at Zoe in a different light but wasn't sure of how she felt. I guess after the entry of Tanveer, he got an assurance from her that whatever it is between them is not one-sided, when she showed signs of jealousy and possessiveness. And since then, he started opening up to Zoe and the last ME established that he was willing to listen to his heart but then the U turns he takes, can't rely on him. And I won't be surprised if Zoe is the one who's gonna propose. Looking at his current haalat, it seems he is just gonna be stuck on "wo actually" 😆

Always happy to discuss QH!😆

The wonderful thing about 4 Lions is that, there is a lot of depth in their characterisation- so many layers...it is like a puzzle at times, and it is exciting when you slowly fit the pieces together. I love their style of storytelling, but sometimes it looks a little vague.
For eg. I did not find all the monologues by Asad and Zoya so important. But it was crucial that they gave a monologue by Asad after Zoya left him yesterday night- it was imperative that Asad explained his actions to himself. I am not complaining, but I think it'd have cleared a lot of things about him.

Asad knows that Zoya feels something for him too.
His monologue after she told him off for the impersonal farewell shows that. He knows she feels the same ankahi ansuni ehsaas he is feeling- he is just realising the power of that pull on him (it is not as easy as he thought to ignore it!)- and he does not want her to go through the same pain he is going through now. Therefore, he tries to trivialise his concern for her, so that she does not depend on him- so all he will say for sometime is woh...woh...😆

More than confused, actually I think he is NOT IN CONTROL ANY MORE- slip ups are happening, so he tries to harder to cover them up- this confuses Zoya and she calls him confused.

Asad is clear about what he wants right now- he wants Zoya's happiness. And that happiness means she is not romantically involved with him. He will make sure that does not happen, while getting her everything else she wants. If she wants to stay back in India, so be it! He will go to any length to make that dream come true, but he will try to maintain a safe distance, I feel.
