2 things I will clear here

one is that Holi celebration isnt restricted in Islam.. its just that they dont celebrate it.. I may be wrong in case its a religious fest of Hindus. if it is then surely prohibited in Islam ❤️

secondly Muslims and Hindus never celebrated each other's festivals even before independence so you're right and they should not show holi in Muslim show..

Religions other than Hindu celebrate Holi as a cultural festival. Sikhs, Muslims and Christians join in for the fun and masti. We do not participate in the religious part of it. It is just like when I go over to my friend's place for Eid. I am not a Muslim and nor do I follow the fasting period of Ramzan. I am not a Christian and yet I attend Christmas parties without participating in the religious prayers.

I don't understand what is wrong in celebrating the fun times with your friends. If you are not of the religion, then you obviously don't do the religious rites but other than that, what is wrong with it?

Sorry? But I wonder why Mods are allowing such posts in the forum.
India is a secular country and here people from each and every religion resides together and enjoy each others company and festivals also. I have friends from other religions too but for me they were only my friends that's all and same goes for them too. We never felt we are from different religion, cast etc. QH is an Indian show and though it is based on a Muslim BG we all love it. If you feel offended better stay out of it. Don't ever make such posts again . Here we all are friends. Religion, country, Language does not matter.

it's actually kinna insulting. The show is not a Muslim show it's just a rom-drama that happens to have families who are Muslims. This absolute nitpicking on what is Muslim and what is not is sad. I have Bangladeshi and Pakistani friends who have celebrated Holi with me at Uni.

Though I have not really discussed religion with many of my friends because I've never been interested in that. But I have gone to beaches with muslim friends wearing bikinis, gorged on hot dogs, had wine at dinners, gotten drunk with them. There sure are some who avoid alcohol, pork and might wear shorts instead of bikinis and some who prefer jeans over short dresses but there is whole lot variety out there and all them consider themselves good muslims, morever live in society with repect and dignity and are not constantly questioned about their lifestyle or made to feel any less. I am aware I'm talking about cities like london but even then to me it seems people here are forcing their own views as facts. I dont know about laws in islam but a whole lot of muslims dont care when they wear desi clothes for diwali in uni and play with colors on holi.

STAY AWAY from this show. That way you won't have to watch and get offended.
FYI I have many Muslim friends and we all play Holi together every year in the college.

Exactly I spent a lot of my undergrad and postgrad in the UK. There are different types of Muslims everywhere. Some drink, some smoke, some eat pork...hell some wear dresses...some club...dance...who is anyone to say what a true muslim is!

Absolutely! I've had the same experience both in the US as well as in India. There is no homogeneity! That's just a myth - for any community!
