I think in one scene he says that he wants women to be like the way Dilshad behaves and her nature and all. But I dont think Dilshad to be old fashioned. Sure, she behaves gracefully, maturely and dresses pretty well and modestly. But I never felt she thinks women should duck their heads and walk behind men. So even I dont get where his old fashioned ideals come from.
I wouldn't quite say he is like those twisted old b*stards. I dont think Asad would have ever allowed his cousin to be married off to her rapist if he had known. But yes, his mentality is like the rest 95% of indian chauvinistic men.
The guy does respect women I think, Dilshad who Im sure would never allow her son to disrespect a woman, but it is only until they back talk or wear jeans. For this guy its like first impression is last impression. He was quite ok with Zoya until she said "All men of this country act like they have never seen a woman"
Well I think he has a lot in common with the Khap guys. He of course wouldn;t go as far as to marry his cousin to her rapist or anything like that...I suppose he deserves a pat on the back for that?! 👏 😆
Asad thinks that women are responsible for attracting negative attention to themselves by dressing in a certain way...He is displacing the responsibility of criminal male behavior onto women.
He doesn't like women to "talk back"...what does that even mean in this day and age???
He doesn't consider women to be equals, to have the right to speak their minds, to dress in whatever way appeals to them, to go out, to stay out...to be equal citizens with equal rights...It's antiquated and beyond regressive.
That's why I don't think he respects women. So we'll have to agree to disagree. 😊
To me respecting women doesn't mean treating them like delicate flowers or worshipping their femininity... to me respecting women means treating them as equals and respecting and supporting their choices as human beings...
