First of all, welcome abroad. It's good to make your acquaintance.
First why are you watching this show ...For KSG or for 4 Lions or for Surbhi or for the Concept of the show or AsYa jodi or for all the reasons combined ? 😳
Unlike a lot of the members, my plan was never to watch QH or to even frequent this forum. For a long time I had hoped to see a show actually have Muslim characters; this show didn't just have a supporting cast who were Muslim but the lead characters were all going to be Muslim. I was intrigued and wondered how the channel, PH would handle the show. I knew nothing about 4Lions - had just glanced at their previous show and it did not interest me, and didn't even know who Karan Singh Grover was or that he was the lead of the show. In fact I had no idea who was the lead for a few weeks😆 What did prompt me to watch the show as well is I had exchanged several emails in the past with the creative director of the show (at that time she was creative director of another show) and was very impressed with her work. She definitely had a flair for comedy and knew how to create chemistry between two characters. When I read the synopsis on Zeetv's website, I was very confused and didn't want to get too engrossed in the show and get let down. Most shows start of very well, and then three months later the show falls flat and disappoints.
The jodi of Asad and Zoya actually grew on me over time; for me the overall show also piqued my interest. Along with good writing (nearly half my friends are writers), good acting is also vital and Alka K's performances simply fascinated me. I absolutely adore her and was pleasantly surprised to learn she was the elder sister of another very talented actor - Varun Badola, who happened to be the lead (although some will argue) of another show that the CV had been responsible for in the past.
Second what type of positive changes you will want to witness in this forum in terms of various Contests , Activities and Discussions ?? 😳
For me the previous moderator has failed miserably in destroying the opportunity to engage in health discussions and forced several members to isolated threads rather than allow a diversity of thought. Shows attract a wide variety of people; some love a show and blindly watch it for entertainment and don't care. While others enjoy a show but there are issues that irk them and would like to discuss those with others. When people open a thread to discuss an issue that is not to the liking of the other person, it should be taught to respect diverse ideas. I often find some members expressing their POV as facts and then shoving them down the throats of others without much respect. Then I find others insulting and then apologizing at the end when their post clearly shows they are being rude. And then we find others tragically apologizing for even coming forward with an idea. I believe that there should be a section on this forum educating members how to write a post in order to get their ideas across. There should also be educational threads teaching people "how do you handle it when you come across a critique of your show?" or a thread to teach members "how to avoid confusing critiquing with bashing." IF has 60,000 plus members but there is very little interactive dialogue because moderators cater to those who complain when the slightest issue offends them. I've seen that all to often by a majority of moderators.
Having moderated a forum over 10 years ago and actually received death threats where I had to make a police report, I understand the challenges faced. Moderators should learn to allow dialogue to be exchanged and address those who are actually engaging in cyberbullying. Unfortunately moderators never speak up - something which I have yet to see happen as i have been on the receiving end of a lot of it having held on to a minority viewpoint.
Third what are the issues that you feel Dev team needs to handle and they r still pending ? 😊
I was horrifically appalled and disgusted with the previous moderator's handling of the topic of that which shall not be mentioned. The subject of gratuitous and unnecessary violence on a particular episode of the show offended some of the people on this forum. However, our threads were simultaneously ended. Many of us engaged in mature conversations on the matter and while we endured a considerable amount of rudeness and cyber bullying, our threads were closed. Then the moderator put up one of the most distasteful and most biased and immature posts I have yet to see in my time as a member of this forum. This post told people to get an issue of concern "out of their system" if they were unhappy with it, and snapped at them to move on. The moderator then minimized their concerns by telling them "it's only a show" and they can longer discuss the issue as it pertains to them. This really did irk me. Had the Dev team wanted to end all discussions on the topic, a simply post could have been put in place, but to say these things to the members who were unhappy with what the show had portrayed and then to close threads that voiced these concerns because the majority were happy and then mock and taunt those who were very disappointed in how the show had handled the matter by telling them to "get it out of their system" really disgusted me. Moderators should not show partiality to other members even if it is the majority opinion and each sentence that this post had was lifted from those who had spoken out against our thread. I later learned that the moderator in question actually did not view slapping as a form of abuse. Under these circumstances, it is clear to me why this partiality was shown and this should not happen.
The precap today again shows the lead actor manhandling the female lead; we have posts that joke how they are in close proximity but we won't be allowed to have those who find this bothersome and disturbing? Unfair. If people want to open posts turned on by this, that's fine, but we also have to be allowed to have posts/threads that are not happy with the male characters continued aggression and if the PH is doing this for entertainment purposes or actually have a purpose behind it. I don't see this as a bashing post but one that opens up discussion and dialogue. It is those who are unable to see beyond a discussion that will always have a problem with these posts.
Fourth Many times Mods might b on leave or busy with exams .. During that time .. we will need your co-operation to keep peace and unity of a forum intact .. Are u guys ready for it ? 😳 ...
When the moderator was absent for her exams, I actually found this forum to be rich in ideas and diversity and thinking. We have a lot of people here who are mature and can police this forum extremely well. Unfortunately, a lot of the strong and healthier people have left this place because the only discussions allowed here. Don't get me wrong, I love to drool over KSG's six pack, and the more I see on the show the better, but I do want to engage in a more cerebral level with some excellent and very smart and talented members on this forum.
Fifth for activities like DOTW-GOTW and various Contests ... We will love to have volunteers from our members themselves .. You guys can always PM us and volunteer for any contest that you want in forum ... Are u guys ready for it ? .. 😳
I do not come here for this, so no commenting.
Sixth and last question... Any other suggestion or feedbacks you want to give us feel free 😳
Whatever I post I open here, gets emailed to the creative director and sometimes director of the show. If she has not been ugly with me, then I do not know why there is cause for anyone else.
Let me add, I was once on a forum and crtiqued a show and many members, including the moderator at that time, the late Raksha Shah (I even had her personal phone number and we talked several times), was very upset with me. It was my disappointment with the show that eventually lead to us falling out as I put up posts speaking out against what I saw. It was one of the first times IF had seen someone actually say they didn't like what they saw...many people were upset. Later, the director of the show and I talked...he had left the show for EXACTLY the same reasons that I had posted on the forum. I practically fell out my chair when he agreed with everything I said! It was very validating to me. I want to point out, I was never rude to other members of that forum and made many friends who are still friends with me today. I eventually had others come forward who started to see similar concerns and eventually, even Raksha herself had to agree that perhaps, I was right in the end.
I also want to add, just because someone is criticizing, doesn't mean that they hate a show, want it to end etc. The fact I spend time here to voice an opinion is I would like to see improvement because there is still hope for that change. If I didn't care for a show, why would I even spend five minutes watching it or wasting my time saying anything about it? That's something moderators and this forum really need to help others learn. 😊
Thanks for hearing what I have to say.
