But I did write on another thread that while Asad's initial apology wasn't ideal (how you define that is I'm afraid subjective), I did think he was sincere. I actually he thought he was apologizing for hitting her. period. No excuses.

The surprising aspect of that initial apology was Zoya's reaction...which was to deflect attention to the ammi insult...Anyway, even that I sort of understand.

As I said in that post, I believe that different people have different ways of expressing apologies. And how apologies are made and accepted will always differ between people. In Zoya and Asad's case, they seemed to have an understanding...at least thats how I read that scene.

I personally didn't want a long and drawn out guilt-ridden, groveling apology from Asad. I would not have liked Zoya to make him "suffer for what he did" either... I think that's so ...i dunno...not my thing.

In the adult world, you do something crappy, you apologize and you move on...what you did will remain with you...and thats just the mark of being human.

I don't know if that made any sense, I'll write more on apologies later this evening.

Cheers all!
Mira

*** Having said that, I wish the slap had never happened, but hey, it did.

***** So, to address the TM, mujhe apology to pehle se hi Qubool tha! 😆

A very lovely post indeed dear.
Thanks a lot for sharing your views in detail.
I surely understand what you are trying to say and I must say that u have expressed ur views very well dear.
I didn't want Asad to get over the slap so soon no matter how much I support him in the controversy related to the slap.I'm glad that the redemption is finally coming in tits and bits.
Many people felt that Zoe forgave Asad quite easily. But she didn't gave in that easily if u look carefully. She talked about her mom and made him realize how noone deserves not to have a mother. He was genuinely sorry and didn't stop himself from expressing his insecurities and fear after seeing his ammi in such a condition..
I also wish that the slap had never happened, but it did.I just wish that all the grudges of the viewers may get resolved by the long term redemption track.
Keep sharing your views like this future.
Take care!

Di main thappad ko nahin yaad dila rahi,ab main Asad ki apologies ko count karwa rahi hoon.😆
Why should I let people remember Asad's mistakes and let them forget the measures he took to correct it? 😉
I hope all the viewers may get satisfied now.

I also think it's important that we see that Zoya, even though she's forgiven Asad for hitting her (possibly too quickly), has not forgotten it, and she now instinctively fears Asad physically hurting her. It may be a part of Zoya's loving and generous nature to forgive, but I'm very glad the series has shown that doesn't mean being slapped has somehow been wiped out of Zoya's mind or experience. I think it's also important to see Asad recognizing and having to deal with the fact that someone he cares for genuinely fears him and his violent temper.

For me, the difficulty with Asad's initial apology and Zoya's reaction was that it felt like the series was not recognizing the seriousness of Asad hitting Zoya and the impact it should have on the characters. But the scenes today show that the series does recognize that Asad hitting Zoya is signficant and that both characters have to genuinely deal with the consequences, particularly Asad. I need see recognition on Asad's part of the wrongness of his actions before I can believe he genuinely will change; and today I saw the beginning of that.

Thanks a lot for such a lovely post dear.
I completely understand your POV and agree with most of the things.
I didn't have problems with the initial apology coz I had a hope that the redemption is not yet over and I'm glad that my wish is fulfilled now.
Cvs are doing a good job now.
I love the way you have written about Asad realizing that Zoe is afraid of his temper.
A lovely post indeed.
Welcome to the forum dear.
It's really nice to have you here.
I hope you may have a great time here.
Take care!
