Halaala is a very complex issue and most Muslims are adamant that it is not permissable in Islam. But it happens sometimes. And yes the Wikipedia article gives the gist of it. I'll send you some links later if you interested more in it 😊

Sorry, I already replied the reason in the other post, thought it to be open with my ID while my sis-in-law had logged in with hers. Sorry again for the confusion.

Cool. Just PM me. I think I remember reading about some controversial cases in the Indian context .
If they go here. it'll blow up in their faces.

I really want them to go there - and they will since they are not doing any research for their show...this will be a field say. Mein ab at least is ki liye dua kar sakti hoon - some poetic justice 😆

Laila, they cud hv utilized his realization about her nt having parents, but they chose not to. It's not a big deal for me compared to the other stuff that they have handled so insensitively. They cud hv done so many things and utilized it so well. That is the reason why Asad-Zoya doesn't interests me much, it lacks 'sensitivity', and from way beginning. And that bcos the heroine's character they are implementing comes out looking stupid, immature, lacking self-respect at the most crucial times. She is fine at other times, bt when it is very much required for her to show much gumption, they fail with her character.

'Pang of remorse' , since u brought it up , let me say my view on it. 1st, it is The AAK. 2nd, well, he came to say whatever small sorry, but who blew it up with a fountain of coffee? It was so nonsensical and so not required. Once again she was made to look 'stupid'. What was the need for her to laugh? For a sugarless coffee ? Who laughs in a serious situation if a coffee tastes not to ur liking? If something , she sud've gotten more angrier for it rather than laugh and make light of all the happenings of the past few days. Is she crazy? I was disappointed with the now-famous 'slap', the man-handling, the hurtful words, but I'm more disappointed with the way Zoya handled that apology today. Nothing new, she did it the day she came back all broken from Akram's almost- forced marriage, when she was jumping up-n-down, marching in front of the mirror that she will not lose her self-respect blah blah, she was no different today. Don't get me wrong, I was in tears with whatever happened to her in Mangalpur and the way Asad treated her last few days, but writers need to provide some self-respect to her character. Until then I'm not interested in that so-called love story.

😆 Well I think the makers of this show are a cynical lot...but if they go here they'll just be opening up a big can whoopa$$ on themselves. They'll be stupid and cynical.

@ Laila your anticipation for it is positively evil 🤣

@Narangi Sorry I don't yet know your name? 😳 I hope for their sakes, the makers don't go there. A few years ago some MP here in NZ made a frivolous remark over it and he had to tender an apology on national televsion. That is how sensitive the topic is for Muslim people.

I agree with you mutual respect is very important but that is when you are in a relationship, but here Asad and Zoya are not in relationship, they are not even partners. And whatever mistreatment happens between two strangers either makes them enemies forever or makes them partners forever. Because these mistreatments can bring people closer or can drift them apart and that depends on the personality of a individual, given the kind of character Zoya is its more like bringing them closer. That's what makes me feel their love story has potential. My story is also somewhat similar may that is one more reason that makes me think this way 😉

Well, that was just the reply for your post. And about running out of story, I just wonder and appreciate your self confidence that you know exactly what's in the mind of the writers. And if I were to be a writer then for me still there is a lot more to happen, the raaz is the curtain opening for the drama to unfold. And about love and romantic track it's yet to begin, I don't know your idea of love, but for me love doesn't have any rules that you should fall for perfect person, blooming of love can't be stopped from a slap or bitter words and it can't initiated by care, good words or even respect. So we never know when we will be trapped in an unconditional love, I say this out of my personal expirrence. Asad and Zoya's journey has a lot to unfold, nobody knows the destiny.

Agree to @underlined.
Here Asad having negative traits are just a characterization. It would've been good if he didn't have such traits, but this story is of a person who does have those!

It wouldn't surprise me if they go ahead with showing halaala in the show, with their usual callousness for specific group sentiments and are issued with a fatwaa. That will be a first for Indian telly!

Halaala is a very touchy topic with Muslim academics and clerics... It is a minefield. PH will put one tiny step wrong and BOOM... They will get the kind of negative publicity they can't even begin to imagine.

i did nt know anything about halala thanks for educating me on that
this PH is bold and i am sure they are heading towards that
for showing variety in their shows or else why would they take up a show with muslim backdrop
but please don t give them ideas yaar
