SBS Clips - Forgiving and forgetting?

So there was and still is a lot of discussion regarding the slap, which I've chosen not to take part in. There are a lot of strong opinions regarding it, and I personally don't think anyone is wrong in where they're standing. However, at the end of the day, it was a dramatic scene in the serial and nothing more.

I'm more interested in what happens after. While reading posts about the SBS clips, I saw a lot of people saying that Zoya should not forgive Asad so easily. After all, he did slap her really hard, which cannot be justified. So I have just one question in response to this.

If Zoya shouldn't forgive Asad for slapping her, why should he forgive her for nearly causing his jaan se bhi pyaari Ammi's death?

I know Zoya is not entirely at fault here. But she made some stupid decisions, that can't be denied. Both Asad and Zoya are hurting. I realize the fact that he straight up slapped her can't be forgotten - but in the current situation, isn't it best to let bygones be bygones? For the time being at least, I think this would be the best route for the CVs to take.

And herein we deal with the human factor, i.e...decisions taken (however poor) for the 'good of someone' vs. an act of physical aggression against a woman.

The latter action rings louder, however, the former may actually cause more harm in the long run.

Ideally, neither ought to be ignored.
But ... s*x makes the world go round...
Everyone will be back for more masochistic pleasures...the characters for theirs, we, the audience for ours.

I agree to this "If Zoya shouldn't forgive Asad for slapping her, why should he forgive her for nearly causing his jaan se bhi pyaari Ammi's death?". Even though she is not fully at fault she was a reason to happen.
I guess this incident will make them to start understanding each other.

I understand that Zoya was acting in Mariyam's best interests but her actions still indirectly caused Dilshad's condition. In Asad's eyes she was the sole reason. I'm sure Asad doesn't enjoy hitting women - I wouldn't say it was an act of aggression. It was a decision taken in anger, which always clouds judgement
