In my opinion I don't really thing the slap has anything to do with violence against women like most people seem to be taking it. Everyone does things that they later regret. I feel like the CVs are showing just how low Asad could go and how he has to change from this man to the one that Zoya will fall in love with. They need to have him realize the consequences of his actions and how he needs to change himself. I think this was a brilliant scene (not that she gets slapped) b/c so far everyones been in love with Asad (mostly b/c of how hot he is, or the smouldering looks he gives Zoya) but no one has yet outwardly hated him. I think this scene makes a lot of people do just that as can be seen by the numerous comments (I hope this is the reason they added this scene). Also, its a bit annoying that everyones looking for Asad to be some hero that should be kind towards women and respectful. The point is to show Asad isn't that guy, its the journey to become that guy in my opinion. Asad needs to have a dynamic to his character not be static; thats just boring.

Also, I really hope that they don't do this whole slap scene and then have Zoya go back to her cheery self trying to make everyone laugh. That is the part that makes me so angry. She needs to realize that she cant use that tactic in every situation. In my opinion, the audience needs to see her vulnerable side which I definitely haven't seen yet b/c she seems to bounce back from everything that gets thrown at her.

She also definitely needs to set Asad straight. Yeah, to a certain extent she may be responsible for Dilshad's condition, but isn't Asad as well? She needs to stand up for herself, needs to demand self-respect and definitely no mitwa moments until thats accomplished.

Thats my take :)

I agree, a slap was alittle too much. We understand Asad was hurt and angry. He loves his mother alot. But they should have not shown Asad slapping Zoya.

i soo agree with u.
SLAP IS NOT ACCEPTABLE...NO MATTER WHAT!!!
is it really that justified for a man to hit a woman when he is upset? that's absolutely inacceptable.
after the akram fiasco...CVs would have shown zoya very angry n mad on asad (for a longer time)...but instead of that they just turned the whole scene into a mushy-mitwa one!
i can understand that asad was devasted on seeing his ammi in such a state & perhaps due to the flashbacks he had...he hit zoe when she came to him with a sorry.
but i dont understand...HOW CAN HE SLAP HER???!!! 😕
i mean...he cud have banged his fist on a glass door or a wall OR yelled at zoe OR threaten her OR ANYTHING but a slap.
for me...SLAP WAS A BIT TOO MUCH.
i'm totally against it 👎🏼

I did watch this show and both my sister and I did not like it. I told my cousin to watch this show; I just PMed her and told her to forget about it - she would be disgusted by this episode.

I have completely lost interesting in this show...it has left a sour taste in mouth. I simply cannot fathom any romance happening between Asad and Zoya at this stage. Asad's character has been ruined.

From an Islamic perspective (and this is a Muslim family), the practice is not condoned either. I have spent the past 20 years in this field and know every US expert - Muslim, Hindu etc on domestic abuse/violence etc. I know the people who wrote the books and have even consulted for them...none of them would endorse this...and still having been in this field for so long, I had young girls here taunt and try to educate me on what is domestic abuse. Not only were my eyes abused by what I saw today but I had of course, those people who supported abuse, abusing me on this forum...go figure why they saw nothing wrong in what Asad did.

normally I dont critize any show unless they cross some limits.. until now i was just obseving Asad .. he already told so many harsh things to zoya which he should not have told still I did not argue much .. but today's scene the way he slapped I felt like seeing any mangalpur ppl ..

atleast for this issue you are not alone .. already seeing so many ppl r voicing out ..

its the first time in this forum .. why Asad ruined this for me .. :(

i don't know y u all r blaming asad
its not his fault
its all zoya's fault i mean she has to understand saving one's living by putting others life in danger is wrong
i thing she deserve one slap sometimes she is too annoying
first asad warn her if she is in touch with mariyum then tell him
beside his warning she still hide that girl n put dilshaad n najma life in danger.i know she helped mariyum but she can tell asad am sure he will help mariyum.but not she use her good for nothing mind.

No-one deserves to be treated this way. No-one. She does not deserve to be treated int his way at all. It is not OK - slapping women is not an acceptable behavior - it is wrong.

I never liked Asad.
Yes, he was attractive but, his personality was plain repulsive. I thought that was okay, he was allowed to hold his opinions so long as they did not violate others' rights.
Today was the height of all hypocrisy. The man who supposedly fights eve teasers, goons and all sorts of abusive powers suddenly turns into one under pressure. Since when does he have special rights to justify his actions based on his circumstances. I could just as easily say the eve-teasers who bother Najma come from a broken home and therefore, should be forgiven. Doesn't make their action any less immoral, does it? Why, now, is Asad being given a free pass?

TBH, I view this soap as a fondant version of a stale cake. The tried and tested submissive women plot served under the pretense of changing times. Changing times???? I should have seen this coming with the complicated family history but, too late for that.
Adios!!

And because of all these "nice" things he did, the writers and the fans of the slap will underplay what we saw...that's the sad part.

It is an interesting take but considering what I've learned and what I see, it is an attempt to romanticize violence and nothing as in depth or thought provoking as you have written here. I do not expect any further mature handling of this incident by the CVs from this point forward.

I dont find anything wrong in Asad slapping Zoya, according to him she is the reason of his mom lying on death bed, we are shown Ammi brought Marium back, he didnt knew that. Its nothing to do with male or female its about emotions & no one is more important than a mother.
