I did watch this show and both my sister and I did not like it. I told my cousin to watch this show; I just PMed her and told her to forget about it - she would be disgusted by this episode.

I have completely lost interesting in this show...it has left a sour taste in mouth. I simply cannot fathom any romance happening between Asad and Zoya at this stage. Asad's character has been ruined.

From an Islamic perspective (and this is a Muslim family), the practice is not condoned either. I have spent the past 20 years in this field and know every US expert - Muslim, Hindu etc on domestic abuse/violence etc. I know the people who wrote the books and have even consulted for them...none of them would endorse this...and still having been in this field for so long, I had young girls here taunt and try to educate me on what is domestic abuse. Not only were my eyes abused by what I saw today but I had of course, those people who supported abuse, abusing me on this forum...go figure why they saw nothing wrong in what Asad did.

I feel badly for what you had to go through! Women are their worst enemies sadly!

This week started off strange for me. I am attending a seminar on Women issues-South Asian women issues which involve rape, domestic violence etc...and I was just telling my non-Indian friend yesterday how this new show I am watching has given me some hope for positive outlook towards women in our culture. I also stated that there is this discussion going on this past weekend about, "will Asad be physically abusive towards Zoya bc his mom is shot?" and I said it so confidently that it will not happen and I was so looking forward to Monday's episode but I could not see it at work so quickly decided to read the update and Whoa! am I glad I did not see it!

Just reading it upset me so much-its not just the show its the outlook of the people that is disappointing! I was so confident that Asad would NOT be physical. I had to tell my friend I was wrong the show is not all that I expected!

I really wish I had not come across Qubool Hai but like I said in one of my previous posts I was obsessed by it and kept playing the episodes in the background while doing chores till I fell asleep so now I am free of it for now and can get my life back on track :)

The audience is changing and the writers need to know that most people/fans now-a-days don't find abuse forgiving and will not stick around. Even my male friends were disgusted and suggested, that I stop watching such "crap"

This show had a lot of hope!

Not enough!

I was wondering the same thing! I was like he slapped her, but her hand is bleeding for some reason?

It happened so quickly...do you think he made the gesture to slap her and then she hit the table and injured her hand instead?

That's so disappointing.

There's a lot of bullying on these forums. Dissent is not welcome! You either drool or leave...critique is not accepted! When you start critiquing, you are accused of taking it too seriously etc...its pretty predictable.

But hey, know that there are many of us who think like you too! 🤗

Laila dnt ever think that you are alone,as your certainly not alone this time.We may be the minority but we should be proud for taking a stand for all fellow woman,be it a fictional character but it's not far off from what happnes in reality.
The most shameful and shocking thing is that the majority here and that too who are woman are justifying Asad's actions today.Apparantly it wasn't a women Asad hit but lashed out at the situation out of anger and would have done so to anything and anyone...meaning what? Zoya was a mere item or prop or just the decor on the wall for the day! Seriously...what lengths people would go to promote the show at any given cost...sell your souls why not!
I too also work with women who suffer on a daily basis at the hands of domestic violence.marital rape,,,just violence of any form really and let me tell you unless one was to see the pain and sorrow these women are going through you would not be standing there coming up with lame ass reasons of justifications.

Yes, I discussed this in my post - Predictions - and it was also discussed in a thread. I never imagined the writers would do this - grab her arms, yell at her, be fierce, but slap her to this degree? Never thought they would go tot his level. I too have contacted all friends and told them to stop watching this show and they won't either once they know what has happened because none of them would endorse this behavior. they watched it because they liked the jodi - it would be hard to say there was anything romantic...

I will watch the show as i want to see how they will handle this situation - I think we need to simply to lend each other support here. Will I enjoy this show or the romance - I doubt it. I will simply remember the wonderful romances bestowed to us by some wonderful fan fiction writers and be content with those.

It was a fabulous show but today's episode has ruined it. Redemption of this show will be impossible. What a sad demise of Asad Ahmed Khan.😭

Im kind of shocked by how much people are trying to justify it, there is no amount of emotions tht make hitting a woman right. Women of all people should understand this.

And what is worse, so many still are justifying it and cheering each other one. Some were even thrilled and excited by what they say and all the wonderful mitwa moments that will happen now Ouch...how can you get romantic with a guy who treats you like dirt? Help me here.

One post is not enough, I have to take my frustration out before I leave for good.
I never liked Asad.
Yes, he was attractive but, his personality was plain repulsive. I thought that was okay, he was allowed to hold his opinions so long as they did not violate others' rights.
Today was the height of all hypocrisy. The man who supposedly fights eve teasers, goons and all sorts of abusive powers suddenly turns into one under pressure. Since when does he have special rights to justify his actions based on his circumstances. I could just as easily say the eve-teasers who bother Najma come from a broken home and therefore, should be forgiven. Doesn't make their action any less immoral, does it? Why, now, is Asad being given a free pass?

TBH, I view this soap as a fondant version of a stale cake. The tried and tested submissive women plot served under the pretense of changing times. Changing times???? I should have seen this coming with the complicated family history but, too late for that.
Adios!!

Have no words for such demeaning posts! shocked and disappointed and no mitwa moment is going to make this right -maybe the CV's can try redeeming Asad's character and we shall see but I cannot watch this show for now. I have good memories of it until Feb 1st and will keep it that way-although the image of Asad slapping Zoya is ruining that for me as well.😭

I am sooo glad I did not watch todays episode!
