I simply am not understanding that why a TV serial is hell bent on fulfilling all dowry demands by a groom's family on the pretext that the bride is dark skinned. Extremely derogatory concept. The question is not to ask me to see other serials if I don't like this. The question is about the thousands and thousands of girls all over the Indian subcontinent -- Hindu, Muslim, irrespective -- who are subjected to horror in the name of 'gifts for the married couple' -- and we girls have not even bothered to raise our voice against such nonsense. I agree if Mr Khan is illiterate, he may support such inhuman animalistic demans of car and house... But I thought he was a modern educated empowered man. So why on earth is he gifting a house to Hasina B? Are woman so helpless?
Forget looks, I don't think I belong to the 'fair-skinned' class. My husband and I did not take a coin from either of our families to get married... we started from the scratch and built everything for ourselves on our own -- and by God's grace have reached the pinnacle of success by our own endeavours. If Mr Khan or Nikhat's father has the capacity to buy cars and houses, why can't he simple give excellent education for Nikhat or set up a business for her so that he gets to marry in to the right household. Had my hubby would have simply walked out with his mum after cancelling engagement, I wouldn't even have considered him to be a man. I literally loved watching all 4 Lions shows. Both Geet and IPKKND have been close to my hearts... and believe me Qabool Hai was no different... but satifying demands for dowry by educated people on national television is a disgrace... I am simply so sad!
