Maybe Dilshaad didn't know Shireen and Rashid were married. The way there is a flashback voice of Rashid saying "Shireen meri doosri biwi hai", seems to me he might have introduced them before but revealed later that Shireen was actually his wife

Please spare me the talk. I know Gul's work well, she can do much better than this from the start. It is not much of a mystery to reveal. Just because you like KSG, doesn't mean everyone has to think that the show is perfect. This show has too many flaws for a Gul show which is sad as I want a Muslim social to do well too. India rarely has them doing well.

Agreed on all counts. MY biggest problem is that people like Asad don't exist. I don't think anyone in this whole entire universe can love someone who is the result of a relationship that broke his/her house and gave their Mom pain. Heck, I don't talk to relatives who are rude to my Mom, God forbid IF I had step siblings b/c of my Father rejecting my Mom for someone else then there is NO way that I or any other normal person would love them like crazy!!

P.S.- I AM DESPERATE to know why they had to jump straight to the whole multiple marriages issue in their FIRST drama with Muslim characters. That's not what the majority of Muslim men do so why make THAT the MAIN theme of the drama?? There's so much more they could show. As for gul, I dont care what her fans say, but my opinion is that she almostt hits the bulls eye, but messes up with something that she shouldn't mess up with given the fact that she has experience... I mean neither IPK nor QH is her first drama so shes not an amateur in the field.

Ummm...hey i've been a silent reader here, but when u brought up this topic i cudnt hold myself, i wud lyk to point out one thing once dadi had told Ayaan that he shudnt speak ill of Rashid bcoz dat man gave him his name, this implies that they r nt Rashid's children, atleast Ayaan and Nikhat are not his, Shirin perhaps was earlier married to sm1 else too, so mayb Shirin and her children stayed as paying guests at their home or were neighbours or rashid was ayaan's father's frnd...loads of possibilities and i think their past will include zoya and mamujaan too

Honestly, sometimes i feel bad for Najma...we don't see Asad having a similar relationship with her like he does with Aayan, and even today Nikhat. He doesn't seem to understand that she doesn't really like them. She is the one who distanced herself for Nikhat and Nuzzat at the school when they both said their dad was Rashid.

I hope they focus on Najma a little more and her dynamic with her step siblings. It would be interesting to see her tell Asad she doesn't want to have anything to do with those people who took her father away from her. That maybe she always wanted to be a daddy's girl and Nikhat and Nuzzat get that. I actually would be curious to see what her reaction would be if she found out asad gave hasina a house in order to make sure nikhat got married... i would love to see her go balistik and say soemthing like THEY ALREADY HAD EVERYTHING...THEY HAD OUR FATHER! LET THEM SUFFER! (i dunno i always kinda wanted to see that 😊)

exactly, Najma is the cutest. She has no scenes! She's the only girl in the show other than Zoya who is tolerable.

I have lately been indulging in this show as a guilty pleasure [which is the limit to how seriously I am willing to take 4Lions shows by this point] and I couldn't help but jump in when I saw this topic. To me it always seemed kind of obvious. Asad and Ayaan have this bond because of their respective reactions to their dad's spinelessness.

Rashid abandoned Dilshaad, so Asad felt like had to step into the role of the "man" of the family, and to him that means being everything that Rashid is not: dependable, honest, responsible and morally rigid. His anger stems from the frustration of taking up so much responsibility when he shouldn't have had to at a young age. This is also why he showers so much love on his siblings... he is being the father figure he never had. I think his behaviour towards his siblings is a manifestation of his disappointed expectations of Rashid as a father.

As for Ayaan, even though Rashid lives with them and they have a technically functional family, he has his own problems. Rashid ostensibly ignores Shirin and makes her completely miserable on a daily basis. He is not really there for his kids either. So Ayaan craves a father figure: something he finds in Asad. He has the luxury not to take himself too seriously because he has a real father guiding him and watching his back.

Just my two cents. 😊

Thea's what I thought. But from what they have been showing that also seems very far off. Furthermore I don't understand if Rashid and Dilshad are still married or not.

But I guess, this is Gul's penchant. Itna gol ghumao ke bad mein khud gol ghoom jaao. This is what she did earlier too.
