I've seen other shows belonging to the same production house and they sure do love to show a woman being manhandled/thrown around 😆 Personally speaking I think they should refrain from showing such things because it does send out the wrong signal. It can border on physical abuse. Just my pov...pple don't have to agree with me 😊

wait 4 a while dnt judge it so soon..n abt character behavior its gul idea n she is best👍🏼 in it initially in IPKKND when arnav breaks khushi dori i really find dat cheap but later it became a history so just wait😊 d shw 'll work as u want ..

well.. Asad did that because Zoya was not listening to him and she was going to tell Asads mom.. I think he had no choice but to grab her and threat her so she won't tell Ami. i actually loved that scene.
Are you kidding me.

Asad last resort to get Zoya attention was man handle her? That's total hypocrisy.

Asad total went agaisnt his believes and morals when he did that and Zoya went against hers when she didn't stand up for herself.

Totally agree with you on this! They both did totally go against theri principles and beliefs and I'm still finding that hard to digest.

When someone affects you Ina way you don't understand, you start acting in ways you don't expect yourself to! It's complexity of human character I loved that scene!

Dear Shaz...

Great post!

Just watched the epi really fast... I slways knew that the time is nearing when Asad will start manhandling Zoya...I really have no higher expectations from him...in reality...men with such disrespectful attitude and opinion towards a woman tends to follow that way...they usually use it as a weapon. So for me I always disliked Asad's character...now I despise him.

What extremely disappointed me was Zoya's reaction...is this the same woman who stood up for herself at all times? I wished she would have reacted differently...

The epi in whole I liked it. Didn't mind Zoya irritating Asad, didn't mind Asad getting angry at Zoya but I DID mind when Asad held Zoya's neck. That was wrong, wrong, wrong!!! I know it's a fictional show but that doesn't excuse it.

I must also say that I actually did not mind Asad's action. Him threatening Zoya was hilarious and her expression to this as well as her carried away childhood thought of Asad being James Bond. I can understand why Asad did such a thing- I mean there is only so far a person can go before snapping. With Zoya 'blackmailing' him he was becoming fed up. Honestly, he's probably thinking why he didn't do this earlier. It could have certainly avoided many situations and given him his much beloved order and silence in the house. 😃

However, those fight scenes and his mitwa moments were adorable 😳 and I am glad we haven't missed those.

😲

I echo previous comments - manhandling some is NOT the way. I admit Zoya is quite obstinate, and pokes her nose everywhere. But NOTHING justifies what Asad did. Using violence against anyone, especially people who cannot defend themselves, is not right.

It's stuff like this in media that we take for granted - thinking it's just a joke and let it pass when it actually begins to mould our thought processes - why is it ok for him to grab her by the neck? He wasn't laughing, she wasn't laughing it wasn't made explicit to anyone that it was a "joke", he was intentionally threatening her so that she wouldn't expose his secret. It was not a joke, it was a threat made in order to act according to his wishes.
This is the kind of behaviour that in real life leads to domestic violence, for a guy to manhandle a woman and think nothing of it, whatever the situation, it then allows him to do so the next time and perhaps even more violently. And the feminist that Zoya's character was shown to be I cannot believe she didn't reprimand him for that.
I honestly cannot get over the fact that some people are saying it was "alright/hot/funny", just for two seconds think of a sister and imagine seeing someone holding her neck and threatening to kill her, imagining stepping into that scene and realise how heart pounding that can be, ask someone who has seen the effects of domestic violence and they'll tell you how funny it was...
