Last week in interviews and such, the show makers went on a sprint of how they are incorporating concerns of the nation into the storyline. What happened now? Its okay to threaten women again?

Zoya's character just a couple of days ago came out of a traumatic experience. Her wounds still visible. Why did they show that particular interaction with Asad's hands at her throat?

When the scene started and he pulled Zoya towards himself, it was ok. But holding her by her neck was something that shocked me...I din't find it cute or romantic, esp after Asad's last week's reaction on the entire Akram fiasco. He said something like "Kisi ko bhi auraton ke saath iss tareeke ka bartaav karne ka haq nahi hai, auraton ki izzat karni chahiye" and blah blah blah...And what is he doing???

I agree... that was totally wrong the way Asad manhandled Zoya. And I was surprised Zoya did not react against Asad at all... esp since she just came back from being kidnapped, I thought she would have reacted more strongly and not taken it as a joke. And I get it Asad didn't mean his threat but he could have just used words instead of actually holding her neck like that.
And I should have known... manhandling is a trademark feature in 4Lions daily soaps... I've seen it in their previous shows. But I thought they won't go to that extent here, since here the male lead is portrayed as a traditional man, who says dialogues about respecting women, etc and the female lead was portrayed as a strong woman, who wouldn't suffer all this silently... But yeah, I should have guessed that 4Lions will just not leave the man-handling out of the romance...sigh!!

Exactly my point!!So far we've all been made to paint the picture that Asad is a guy of morals,a certain set of beliefs and principles...though old fashioned he would never resort to doing something morally wrong to anyone especially a woman so to go ahead and make him hold a woman by the neck and that too a woman who has recently suffered abuse is just not going down well with me!

If he had cornered her like before or threatened not to give her back the earring, fine. But that action was wrong.

Also, considering the violence that Zoya has very recently experienced, what were the writers thinking?

Zoya seems to have 'bounced back' but then we have seen how well Zoya hides her emotions.

I was expecting Zoya's reaction to Asad to be fearful or to show something and then Asad would realize he crossed the line.

i was also expecting some sort of reaction from Zoya too as for her to just keep mum is not like Zoya...given her bubbly, out going, out spoken nature it is natural to want to see some sort of reaction.

Just wanna add that this post is not to spread negativity or bash the character of Asad as I have loved and been intrigued by his character from day one but yesterday whatever Asad was made to do was just not in character for him as so far he has been portrayed as a mature, sensible, traditional guy with morals.I know alot of people are saying that it was done in a light hearted way and the funny side of it should be seen but honestly I just dnt see nothing funny about a man holding a woman by the neck just to get her to listen to him.Asad pulling Zoya towards him leading up to that scene I didn't have a problem with as I too found it quite hot but that Action of Asad's just killed the whole of the Asya scene for me and then Zoya not reacting...everything seemed out of place to me and that is my own personal opinion which I am merely expressing and not shoving on other's...everyone is entitled to have their opinion but all I am saying is that if such an action was carried out on a woman in real life would anyone deem it fit or right?

@S.Stephy Agree with you!Four Lions have a thing for glorifying hatred and manhandling as undying love.
