'Tu jahaan, main wahaan
Sang sang yoon chaloon tere, jaise tera aasman...'
How happy was I at the choice of the background song played for AsYa yesterday? The same exact song having entered my playlist because it had been played for my dearest VirMan (Zahara? Faye? Are you guys reading this?) I remember jumping up and down in happiness when I saw this song being played for a tellycouple for the first time and my reaction for the second couple was no different.
This song marked the start of VirMan's official romance after Maanvi's confession and I'm hoping this song plays cupid and brings in a different, more humane track for this new couple. The timing of the song couldn't have been more appropriate, and the lyrics chosen couldn't have been any more perfect.
Why am I raving about a background song, you may ask?
Well, that is because the choice of the song very often determines the depth of the relationship of the on screen couple. The wrong song leads to disasters and the right ones that hadn't been very popular when they had been released, often go on to become super hit tracks simply because they had been played for the right situation at the right time.
Jo dhup nikle, chaayaa ban jaunga...
Jo ho tu akeli, saayaa ban jaunga...
Jo uljhan mein ho man, mein behlaunga...
This time around, I strongly believe Asad will change. He will be her shadow and her soul someday, but for now he would take care of her and protect her. She was impulsive, crazy, arrogant, impatient and highly irresponsible but the situation she was in wasn't her fault at all. It wasn't her arrogance that caused this, but Asad's overconfidence in his judgment that led to this and thankfully, he is aware of it.
Add to it the fact that his Ammi and Tamatar are refusing to speak with him adds on to his guilt and this time, he will make amends for his mistake and maybe, hopefully see the side of Zoya he had ignored before; the sweet, caring, helpful girl who was just trying to find some answers that were essential to her very being.
This song marks a significant change in AsYa's relationship. She can't hate him the way she used to and neither can he be so different to her every behavior. They will change, slowly maybe, but they will, soon enough. So will their relationship.
*fingers crossed*
